Barry, J. Edward   
June 6, 2005 J. Edward Barry, 84, of DeWitt, passed away Monday at Crouse
Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Syracuse, he was a graduate of St.
Anthony's High School and Syracuse University. He served with the US Navy
during WWII. He was employed withDavis-Fetch Acoustical Corp. of Syracuse,
retiring in 1991 and previously was employed with US Gypsum of Syracuse. He
was a communicant of Holy Cross Church in DeWitt and a member of the Holy Name
Society for many years. He was predeceased by his wife, Eloise Barry in 1987.
Survivors: two daughters, Cathy (Rick) Fedrizzi and Mary Pat "Tish" (Bill)
Hathaway both of Syracuse; a son, Robert (Marianne) Barry of Cazenovia; four
grandchildren, Nina and Nathan Fedrizzi, Bill and Courtland Hathaway; a
sister-in-law, Fran Barry of Chittenango and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services: 9:15 a.m. Thursday from Eaton-Tubbs-Schepp Funeral Home,
7191 E. Genesee St., Fayetteville and 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church. Burial,
St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. There will be no calling hours. Contributions:

Davy, Barbara Schultheis   
June 5, 2005 Barbara Schultheis Davy, 52, of 7357 Oxbow Road, Canastota, died
Sunday at St. Luke's Hospital, New Hartford, following a brief illness. Her
first husband, Clifford "Skip" Schultheis, died on October 23, 1987.
Survivors: her husband, Frederick C. Davy; three daughters and a son-in-law,
Patricia and Mark Mack of Wampsville, Michelle Schultheis of Sherrill, and
Martha E. Schultheis of Canastota; two stepdaughters and a stepson-in-law, Kim
Davy of Retsof, NY, and Lori and Jack Wright of Dalton, NY; two stepsons and a
stepdaughter-in-law, Greg and Heather Davy of Perry, NY, Brian Davy of Oneida;
four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Edna "Chickie" and William Ryan of

May 18, 2005 Mary Arlene Dey, 83, of Syracuse, died May 18, 2005 at Loretto.
She was the daughter of Donald M. and Mabel Hoyt Dey. Services were private.

Downing, Norma J. "Cookie"   
Downing June 5, 2005 Norma J. "Cookie" Downing, 73, of New Haven, died Sunday
at Oswego Hospital, Oswego. A native of New Haven, she was a life resident.
Norma had worked at General Electric Company, Liverpool. She enjoyed cross
stitching. Norma was predeceased by a son, Eric Downing. Surviving are her
husband of 50 years, Alan M. Downing of New Haven; three sons, Michael (Patty)
Downing of Scriba, Mark (Barbara) Downing of Hannibal, Scott (Penny) Downing
of Volney; two sisters, Virginia (Robert) Drake and Ida (Robert) Taft, both of
Volney; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.
There will be no funeral service. Burial at New Haven Cemetery, New Haven.

Ellison, Ilene M.   
June 5, 2005 Ilene M. Ellison, 94, passed away Sunday at Loretto. Ilene was a
native of Norwich, NY and was a Syracuse area resident for most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, where she was a member
of the Altar and Rosary Society and Legion of Mary. She was also a member of
the Syracuse City Fire Department's Ladies Auxiliary. Her husband, George
predeceased her in 1975. Survivors include her daughters, Joan Ellison of Clay
and Marianne Halsey (Curt) of Baldwinsville; her son, John (Marilyn) of Folly
Beach, South Carolina; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant
Blvd., Syracuse. Services will be Thursday 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home and a
mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church. Burial will

Hudson, Sandra Kerr
May 30, 2005 Sandra Kerr Hudson, 68, of Bedford, NH, died May 30, 2005 in
Manchester, NH after complications from injuries related to her accident and
paralysis suffered in 1979. Born in Syracuse, NY in April 1937, she was the
daughter of John Alexander and Kathryn (Ryan) Kerr. She graduated from
Cortland State Teachers College in New York and taught grades 2 through 6 in
Syracuse and Camillus, NY, Virginia Beach, VA and Sandy, UT. Ms. Hudson was a
member of the New York State Teachers Association. She had been active in
local music theaters in Syracuse, Virginia Beach, Sandy and Sparta, NJ. The
family includes her former husband, Phillip Hudson of Salt Lake City, UT; a
son, Brian Hudson of Sandy, UT; a daughter, Kathryn Scovel of Cary, NC; four
grandchildren; a sister, Brenda Smith of Syracuse, NY; a brother, John A. Kerr

Kilts, Leonard C.   
June 4, 2005 Leonard C. Kilts, 91, of 124 Pleasant Street, Canastota, died
Saturday at Oneida Healthcare Center, following a brief illness. He was born
on August 18, 1913 in the Town of Lenox, the son of Charles and Eliza Hayes
Kilts. Leonardlived in Canastota all his life, attending the Canastota
schools. He had worked at General Electric in Syracuse for 15 years, retiring
in 1976. He had previously worked at the former Henney Motors in Canastota for
many years. Leonard was instrumental in starting P & S Concrete Products,
Ltd., in Chittenango. He married Lillian M. Wheeler on February 1, 1934, in
New Woodstock. Lillian died on April 2, 2000. Survivors: Three sons and
daughters-in-law, Roger and Joan Kilts, and Judson and Janice Kilts, all of
Canastota, and Peter and Sharon Kilts of Chittenango; seven grandchildren
including a special granddaughter, Sharon Bryson; eleven great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at the convenience
of the family. Burial, Pine Plains Cemetery, North Manlius. There will be no

Lyon, Michael E.   
June 2, 2005 Michael E. Lyon, 61, of North Syracuse, passed away Thursday at
the VA Medical Center in Syracuse following a long illness. A life resident of
Syracuse and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mike worked at Lipe Rollway in
Syracuse for many years andthen with Nixon Gear in Solvay until his illness
forced him to retire. He was predeceased by his wife Susan who died in June of
2000. Mike is survived by a son, Stephen (Paula) of Cicero; two daughters,
Denise Lyon and Tracy Lyon, both of MA; a sister, Cindy Hagan of
Baldwinsville; two brothers, Robert of Florida and Barry of Tully; seven
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Friday
at 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse. Burial will be private.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at

McMahon, Marie C.
June 5, 2005 Marie C. McMahon, 93, died Sunday, June 5 at The Nottingham. She
was born in Scranton, PA, and lived in SanDiego, CA and Syracuse. While Marie
lived in SanDiego, she was a member of the Children of Mary of The Society of
the Sacred Heart,and the Auxiliary of the Sisters of Social Service. In
Syracuse, she was a longtime communicant of St. Ann's Church, and served for
many years as a promoter for the Bangladesh Missionary of Father Gerald
McMahon C.S.C. She will be mourned by many as a beloved and loyal friend.
Marie was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Raymond J. McMahon in
December, 1981; her parents, Luke A. and Catherine E. Crimmins; two sisters,
Catherine T. Osborn and Isabelle A. Crowe; and one brother, Edward J.
Crimmins. She is survived by two sisters, Margaret E. McElwain and Anne L.
Crimmins and several nieces and nephews. Service will be held Thursday at 9:30
a.m. at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, 3180 Bellevue Ave. and 10 a.m.
in St. Ann's Church. Marie will be buried with her husband in Bath National
Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral

Moody, Rev. Donald   
June 5, 2005 Rev. Donald Moody, 91, of LaFayette, passed away Sunday, June 5,
2005 at Community General Hospital after a long illness. Born in Harriman, New
York, February 8, 1914, he was a graduate of Mansfield State Teacher's College
in Pennsylvania, attendedDrew Seminary in New Jersey, and graduated from
Colgate Rochester Divinity School in Rochester, New York. He served as a
Methodist pastor in the central New York area over 60 years. He was Pastor
Emeritus of the Onondaga Nation United Methodist Church. He served as
LaFayette town historian from 1985 to 2003. He was an Eagle Scout in his
youth, and active in the Boy Scouts of America for many years. He was a member
of the Tully Masonic Lodge. He is survived by a son, Donald Lewis of Marietta;
a daughter, Priscilla of Gilbert, Arizona; seven grandchildren; and several
nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a daughter, Prudence in 1991. Services are
at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2005 at St. Paul's Methodist Church in Syracuse.
Calling hours are at Hall Funeral Home, LaFayette Wednesday evening from 4 to
6 p.m., and at St. Paul's Methodist Church Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial

June 5, 2005 Cindy C. Smith, 51, of 5708 Crossett Road, Elbridge, died Sunday
at home. Born in Lake Placid, Cindy lived in Weedsport before moving to
Elbridge. For over 20 years, she has been employed at Welch Allyn Co. Cindy
was a graduate of Ca-yuga Community College. She was a volunteer EMS with
Elbridge Volunteer Fire Department. She was affiliated with the Auburn Church
of the Nazarene. Surviving are her companion, David Tarolli; two daughters,
Tracy Dominick of Skaneateles and Renee Borden of Gloversville; a son, Craig
Smith of Syracuse; two brothers, Tony Bradley of CA and George Bradley of
Marcellus; four sisters, Linda Renfro and Terrie Latimer, both of Lake Placid,
Ellie Filey of Rome, and Starr Mikan of PA; and a granddaughter. Services will
be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Auburn Church of the Nazarene. Private burial will

Stukey, Gloria C.   
June 3, 2005 Gloria C. Stukey, 79, of Oneida, died Friday evening, June 3,
2005, at her residence. Surviving besides her husband Donald are one daughter,
Andrea A. Colella of Jamesville; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Donald A.
and Virginia Stukey of Manlius, and Martin L. Stukey of Liverpool; four
grandchildren, Jason and his wife Heather Stukey of Elmira, Greg Stukey of
Burlington, Vermont, Alex Colella and Allen Colella of North Syracuse; two
great-grandchildren, Alex and Kyle Stukey; and several nieces and nephews. She
was predeceased by six siblings. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m.
Thursday from the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., 260 Main Street, Oneida.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Interment

Wightman, Mark S.
June 2, 2005 Mark S. Wightman's spirit was suddenly called upon on Thursday,
June 2, 2005, while on business in London, England. Mark Wightman, 34, was a
native of DeRuyter, NY, and a 1988 graduate of DeRuyter Central School. Mark
went on to attend Ithaca College, where he graduated in 1992. Later he
completed his MBA at the prestigious Fuqua School of Business, Duke
University. Mark Wightman passed suddenly in London, England, while on
business with Lucent Technologies. Currently residing in Basking Ridge, NJ, he
and his family formerly resided in Hellertown, PA, and Apex, NC, where he was
employed by Bell & Howell, and Ericsson, respectively. Mark is survived by his
wife, Jeannine A. Wightman (Asterino), and his two sons, Tyler Howard and
Jacob James. He is also survived by his mother, Karin Wightman of DeRuyter,
NY; father, Paul Wightman of Sanford, NC; sisters, Julie Wightman of
Rochester, NY, and Amy Frank (Wightman) of Farmington, CT; and grandmothers,
Hazel Wightman, Cazenovia, NY, and Helen Kritsberg of Syracuse, NY. A memorial
service will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2005, at 2 p.m. at the United
Church of Christ, DeRuyter, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can

Wilson, Shirley Pauline   
June 3, 2005 Shirley Pauline Wilson, 86, of Roanoke, entered into eternal rest
on Friday, June 3, 2005. She was born on July 14, 1918 in Oswego, NY and spent
the greater part of her life raising her four children in Pulaski, NY. She
moved to Roanoke to be near her daughters and worked for the Marriott Hotel as
a dining room manager. After retirement, she worked part time at the Orange
Dog in Towers Mall. Her love for her family and her animals gave her great joy
throughout her life. Her surviving family includes her husband, Fred Wilson of
Pulaski, NY; son, Paul Wilson and wife, Sandra, of Pulaski, NY; daughters,
Diane Ball and husband, Neal, of Salem, VA, Joene Burroughs and husband, Fred,
of Blacksburg, VA, and Tanya Mitchell and husband, Ralph, of Salem, VA; 11
grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Alta Foster; two nieces;
and a dear friend, Rita Burroughs. A graveside service will be held on
Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Pulaski Cemetery. Condolences can be
