Janet Ann Anderson was born November 15, 1956 in Long Island, NY. She died Tuesday, at her home in Chickasha after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, The Waitress Union, McChessney Park Seniors, Gethsemane Craft Club, was an avid card player and was a New York Yankees fan. She is pre-deceased by her husband Wilbert John Banuski who died January 13,1970. She is survived by 2 daughters: Helen (Nathan) Bedard Giromini of Liverpool, Judy (Gary) Baker of Tempe, AZ; 2 sons: William (Theresa) of Bridgeport, Robert (Lisa) of Skaneateles; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Demperio, Michael J. "Doc" June 9, 2005 Michael J. Demperio, 53, of Syracuse, passed away Thursday at home. Born in Solvay, he was a life resident of the area. He was a 1969 graduate of Solvay High School and received his bachelor's degree from RIT. He was owner and operator ofDoc's Pizza and Wings in Camillus for over 15 years. He was a member of Phi Beta Cappa at RIT, the Tyrol Club of Solvay, and was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church. Surviving are his wife of 33 years, the former Kathy Hudson; one daughter, Amy (Nick) Falcone of Syracuse; two sons, Anthony (Liz) of Solvay and Michael of Syracuse; his mother, Vivian (Damatteo) Demperio of Md.; one brother, John (Jeanette) of Camillus; three grandchildren; several aunts, uncles and cousins. (LaFlamme) Jeffery, 58, of Endicott, passed away Wednesday morning, June 8, 2005, at her home after struggling with an unforgiving illness - cancer. She was predeceased by her mother, Bernetta LaFlamme. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Daniel; her two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and Ann Marie, Endwell, and Mark and Megan, Binghamton, who were the pride and joy of her life; and her father, Charles LaFlamme, Syracuse. Carol was an employee of J.C. Penney. As requested by Carol, there will be no calling hours. Kren, 98, of Syracuse died on Thursday at James Square. He was one of the original Kren Family who owned the famous Kren Bat Company in Syracuse. He also worked for the City of Syracuse in the Transportation Department. He was a communicant of St. Peters Church, a former usher and a member of the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #31. His wife Anna P. Kren died in 1970. He is survived by a niece Barbara Kren of Syracuse; 2 cousins William J. McCarthy, 91, of Camillus, died Thursday at Community-General Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Glens Falls, New York, on January 24, 1914. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Keenan O'Con-nor. She had lived in Camillus since 1957. Mrs. McCarthy was a graduate of Beaver College in Jenkintown, PA. She subsequently was one of the first two women to receive, in 1942, a Bachelor of Science degree from Siena College in Loudonville, NY. In 1948 she received a Master of Social Work degree from Columbia University as a member of the first class of the University's School of Social Work. Following graduation, Mrs. McCarthy specialized in Children's Welfare Services, first serving eight years with the Wayne County Department of Social Services and, subsequently, for 23 years, with the New York State Department of Social Services. She retired in 1975. Mrs. McCarthy was active in the Civil Service Employees Union for 50 years, first as a State employee and then as a retiree, serving for 12 years as president of the Retirees Local for the Syracuse area. In recent years, she was a tireless advocate for cost of living adjustments in retiree pensions. Among her awards for service was the CSEA Mission Statement Award for exemplifying commitment to the CSEA mission of excellence in work, democracy within the union, and advancement of member well-being. Mrs. McCarthy's other life-long commitments to community included her role as director and board member of the regional credit union for state employees and volunteer work in the Red Cross Donor Service and Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the Stonehedge and Western Hills Bridge Clubs, the BPOE Auxiliary and the Golden Agers. Mrs. McCarthy was an active member of St. Joseph's Church in Camillus. Mrs. McCarthy was an avid traveler and had visited 78 countries at last count. She was an active participant in a number of international social work conferences. For many years following her retirement, Mary wintered in Florida, including Port St. Lucie in recent years. Mrs. McCarthy's devoted husband of 40 years, Robert W. McCarthy, died in 1998.
