He was an Army veteran of WW2. He was the former owner of Shub-mehl's Stationery Company in Eastwood, a former officer with Syracuse Office Equipment, and worked in the office supply business until 1987. He volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital, was an usher at the Onondaga County Civic Center, and was a member or the Holy Trinity Senior Citizens' Group. He was predeceased by his wife Harriet. Survived by his son, Paul (Susan) Shubmehl of Syracuse; a niece; two nephews; and a dear friend, Katherine Stoddard of Liverpool.
