Barlow, Susan (Visser)
June 16, 2005 Susan (Visser) Barlow, 44, of Nanticoke, NY, went to be with the
Lord Thursday evening, June 16, 2005, at her home. She was predeceased by her
brother Norm Visser in 1975, and her father-in-law Kenneth V. Barlow Sr. in
2005. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Kenneth V. Barlow Jr.; a
daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Nathanael Ostrander; and a son, Brian
Barlow, all of Nanticoke; her parents, Richard and Elsie Visser, Canastota,
NY; a sister, Shelley Robinson, Cicero, NY; her mother-in-law, Rose D. Barlow,
Kirkville, NY; six nieces; three nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins,
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She was a member of the First Baptist
Church of Maine, NY. She was a bookkeeper and court clerk for the Town of
Nanticoke, and presently was a court clerk for the Town of Union. Sue loved
the water and enjoyed many outdoor activities. Funeral services will be held
at the First Baptist Church of Maine, 16 Church St., Maine, NY, Monday at 11
a.m. Pastor Loren S. Winn will officiate. Burial will be in Maine Cemetery,
Maine, NY. The family will receive friends at the J.F. Rice Funeral Home,
Inc., 150 Main St., Johnson City, NY, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In
lieu of flowers, those wishing may make memorial contributions to the Cortland
Bible Club Camp, PO Box 100, Pitcher, NY 13136, in Susan V. Barlow's memory. A
memorial service will be held at a later date in Syracuse, NY.

Casselberry, Elizabeth Brooks   
June 10, 2005 Elizabeth (Bette) Brooks Casselberry, 93, mother of Loretta
Marie Scheffley and Marsha Kay Quilty; sister of Joan Knoffsinger, passed away
in Sarasota, FL. Celebration of her life and interment will be held at Centre
County Memorial Park in State College, PA and will be announced at a later

Clark, Donald E.
June 16, 2005 Donald E. Clark, 76, of Cicero and Fort Meyers FL, died Thursday
at University Medical Center. He was a Syracuse native. An Army Veteran of the
Korean War, he was a member of Cicero American Legion Post No. 87 and AMVETs
NorthSyracuse Post. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church of Cicero and
a member of the Holy Name Society. He was an officer with the Syracuse Police
Department retiring in 1987 after 24 years of service. Surviving are his wife
of 54 years, the former Nancy Kaupp; three children, Judy (Ron) Tramaine of
Syracuse, Jerry (Karen) Clark of Bridgeport and John (Peggy) of North
Syracuse; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Services will be
Monday at 9 a.m. at the Fergerson Funeral Home, and at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred

Gelose, Anne M. (Balducci)   
June 16, 2005 Anne M. (Balducci) Gelose, 90, of 215 Stroud Street, Canastota,
died unexpectedly, on Thursday, at her home. Together with her husband, she
owned and operated the former Gelose Variety Store in Canastota for 20 years,
retiring in 1977.She was predeceased by her husband, James Gelose, who died in
1978; a son, James Anthony Gelose; and five brothers, Ferdinand, John,
Antonio, Nazareno, and Ralph J. Balducci, Sr. Survivors: Two daughters and a
son-in-law, Anne "Peachy" Stagnitti of Canastota, and Carole and Raymond
Rossetti of Rochester; a sister, Theresa Patane of Canastota; a sister-in-law,

Graham, Alan Clark
June 15, 2005 Alan Clark Graham of Newburgh, NY, passed away peacefully at
home on June 15, 2005 at the age of 84. The son of Sidney and Estella Hall
Graham, he was born on November 12, 1920 in Herkimer, NY. He married Dorothy
Buel on December 28, 1942. A decorated World War II veteran, he flew 20 combat
missions in Europe as a B-24 pilot in the 66th Bombardment Squadron, 44th Bomb
Group, 8th Air Force. He received a BA and MBA from Syracuse University and
worked in business management for 41 years for the Atlantic Richfield Co.,
Africa Inland Mission, the Kings College and Senior Citizens Apartments in
Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1420 in
Newburgh, NY. Moving to Newburgh in 1966, Alan and his family have worshipped
at Moulton Memorial Baptist Church for over 12 years and previously worshipped
at Chapel Hill Community Church, Oak Street Baptist Church and Leptondale
Bible Church. He served as a church deacon, church treasurer, and sang in the
choir. He lived and died a faithful witness to the saving grace of Jesus and
in service to man and God. His personal life verse was Philippians 1:21, "For
to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain." Alan is survived by his wife,
Dorothy; son, Alan Clark Graham, Jr. and his wife, Barbara; daughter, Jeanne
Estella Graham; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous
nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, John and
Larry; and two sisters, Virginia and Ina. Funeral service will be 1 p.m.
Monday, June 20, 2005 at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR 81, Greenville,

Kane, Sister Mary Ann   
June 15, 2005 Sister Mary Ann Kane, 67, of Syracuse, died on Wednesday at St.
Joseph's Hospital after a brief illness. Sister was born in Syracuse to the
late William Kane and Margaret Murphy Kane. She entered the Sisters of St.
Francis on February 2, 1960 andprofessed Final Vows on August 20, 1967. Sister
was a Licensed Practical Nurse. She received a B.S. in Liberal Arts from the
University of the State of New York in Albany. Throughout her life Sister
cared for the infirm and aged Sisters and people of God in various hospitals
in Syracuse and Kalaupapa, Molokai, Hawaii. Before retiring to Wilson Convent,
Sister was a hospital Chaplain at Community General Hospital. Sister is
survived by a brother, William Kane of Buffalo; sister, Arlene Mowczki of St.
Louis, MO; a niece and nephew and several cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be held 7 p.m. Sunday June 19, in the St. Anthony Motherhouse Chapel,
1024 Court St. Syracuse. Burial in Assumption Cemetery will follow at 8:30

June 17, 2005 Anthony P. Krzykowski, 73, of Apulia, died June 17, 2005. He was
the son of Michael and Sophia Krzykowski. He was a Korean War Veteran.

Loperfido, Marguerite C.
June 16, 2005 Marguerite C. Loperfido, 47, passed away Thursday at University
Hospital. She was employed as a Therapy Aide at Hutchings Psychiatric Center
for 27 years. Her dogs; Oliver ans Sophie were a big part of her life.
Surviving are two broth-ers, Michael (Annette) Loperfido of Syracuse and
Daniel P. Loperfido of Mattydale; one sister, Nancy (Michael) Lyon of
Syracuse; and her longtime companion, Elaine Taddeo; several nieces and

Naughton, Richard A.
June 17, 2005 Richard A. Naughton, 75, of Westlind Rd., died Friday. He was
born in Solvay and lived in this area all of his life. He retired as a manager
with NY Telephone Company in 1985 after 33 years of service. He was a veteran
of the U.S. Navy, and a member of the Solvay-Geddes Veterans. His wife,
Patricia Moran Naughton, died in 1996. Surviving are his son, Richard M.
Naughton of Syracuse; three daughters, Margaret Marshall of Albany, Martha
Keohane of Syracuse, and Mary Beth Pavlicko of New York Mills; a sister, Mary

Reed, George F.   
June 15, 2005 George F. Reed, 83, of Nedrow, died Wednesday. Born in Lorraine,
NY he was a retired Postal Carrier working in the Syracuse area. He was a
World War II Army Veteran and a longtime member of St. Paul's United Methodist
Church. George was anavid golfer, an active Mason and the Past President of
the Onondaga Hill Club in 1984. He was twice widowed, Marion Glover in 1960
and Jean Parker in 2000. Surviving are two sons, Brian of St. Roberts,
Missouri, Steven of East Homer; and two daughters, Karen LaNigra of Hastings
and Joan Reed of Nedrow. Services: 12 Noon Tuesday at St. Paul's United

Saunders, Bertha Rascoe   
June 15, 2005 Bertha Rascoe Saunders was born May 29, 1919 in Gatesville, NC
to Emanuel and Julia Norfleet Rascoe. She departed this life on June 15 after
a brief illness. At the time of her death, she was a member of Central Baptist
Church. She was recentlyhonored at Central Baptist Church for her wisdom and
years of service. Preceding her death in 1995 was her son, Michael Angelo.

Phillips; son-in-law, William M. Phillips; grandsons, William E. Phillips and

June 16, 2005 Carlton "Smitty" G. Smith, Jr., of Brewerton, NY, died Thursday
at home. A native of Adams Center, he resided in Brewerton the past 37 years.
Carlton was a meat cutter, retiring from Eddie's Big M in Mexico, NY. He was a
member of the Ameri-can Legion-Russell Horning Post # 601, and an Army Korean
War veteran. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Michelle Leigh Knaust in
1992; and a sister, Verna Catania in 2004. Surviving are his wife of 27 years,
the former Lorraine Casale; two sons, Tim (Carolyn) Smith of E. Syracuse,
Steven Smith of Brewerton, Twin daughters, Sally (Kurt) Knaust and Sue Newman,

Hospital. She retired from the Syracuse City School District where she worked
as a School Bus Attendant for 18 years and also as a Teacher's Aide for five
years. She was a communicant of Ss. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church and a member
of the American Legion Tipperary Hill Post 1361 Ladies Auxiliary. Survivors:
Her husband of 36 years, Nicholas W. Sosow; three sons, Nicholas A., Steven
W., and Mark A. Sosow; her mother, Evelyn Ross; a brother, Wally Ross and
