Jensen, Dorothy L. June 20, 2005 Born January 22, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY, loving wife, mother and nana "DJ" passed away Monday, June 20 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She departed us quietly in her home while surrounded by her loving family. DJ positivelyinfluenced all whom she came in contact with, always encouraging and guiding others through their individual challenges. Her unconditional devotion to her family serves as the hallmark of her life. Her love permeates the inner soul of all she has left behind. She will continue to live on in our memories, that of the energetic dancer, the Polish cook and the selfless mother. She fought her cancer as she lived her life, with eloquence and grace. Born in Binghamton, NY, Bernie was a graduate of North High School in Binghamton and attended college in Washington, DC. He was theowner of Puglisi Real Estate which he operated for over 30 years on the south side of Syracuse. He was branch manager for Darling, Blue Boy and Pride of Utica Ice Cream companies. Bernie was past president of the Valley Men's Club, South Side Business Association, and Onondaga Valley Association. He was a longtime member of St. James Church where he served as a member of the parish council and was a member of the Onondaga Central School Board. He served on the Professional Standards Committee for the Greater Syracuse Association of Realtors and on the Assessment Review Board for the City of Syracuse. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Bernie was predeceased by his parents, Dominic and Josephine (DeScipio) Puglisi and a brother, Dr. Richard Puglisi.
