Riggall, 75, of Marcellus, died Monday after a long courageous battle with kidney and heart disease at St. Joseph's Hospital. Life resident of Marcellus, he graduated from Auburn Community College with an associate's in AppliedSciences in 1965. He retired from Camillus Cutlery as a shipping foreman. He also worked various other jobs including being a chemist at Allied Chemicals, a janitor and bus driver for the Marcellus School District, security at Fulton and Brewerton Raceways, a truck driver and at Pinkerton Securities. He was a volunteer at Community General Hospital, a member of the Marcellus United Methodist Church. Bill did mission work at various churches in Russia, Panama and the United States. He was also involved with the Red Bird Mission, Brown Memorial, Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels . Bill was involved as a coach in Little League Baseball, Pop Warner Football, and Biddy Basketball. He was also the president of Nine Mile Senior Citizens. He loved Yankees baseball and Nascar races. He was predeceased by his son Robert Riggall May 16, 2005. Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Evelyn Leubner; daughters, Wanda May of Clay, Deborah Riggall of N. Born in New York City, she lived in the Chicago area for 40 years where she worked for the Federal Dept. of Energy for 16 years, retiring in 1975. Miss Ruthig moved to the Syracuse area in 1991 and was a member of DeWitt Community Church. Surviving are a brother Edgar J. Ruthig and a sister Evelyn R. Shay, 95, of 528 Savage Farm Drive, Ithaca, died Monday evening, June 27, 2005, at Kendal of Ithaca where she had been a resident since February 1996. La Verne was born on September 24, 1909, in Wadestown, WV, the daughter of William and Laura Fritz Haught. She attended high school in Mannington, WV, and then went on to attend the University of West Virginia at Fairmont and Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, where she graduated in 1933. After graduation, La Verne was employed by Niagara Hudson as a home service representative educating the customers on the use of electric appliances. Subsequently Cornell persuaded her to return to Ithaca to teach home economics at Boynton Jr. High. Mrs. Shay was married to Carlton C. Shay in Sage Chapel, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY in 1937. Her husband died April 4, 1989. For 10 years, they lived on the South Bay Road (NYS Rt. 13) in Canastota. While in Canastota, she operated an antique business known as Red Wing Farm Antiques and taught classes for the Lake Shore Home Bureau. She also served as vice president of Oneida Die Press Specialties, Inc. In 1950, the family moved to Oneida where Mrs. Shay was active in many civic activities. She was a member and past president of the Oneida Library Board of Directors, past president of the Oneida Hospital Auxiliary Board, charter member of the Board of Directors Oneida Hospital Foundation, member of the Twentieth Century Literary Club and the Madison County Historical Society. Mrs. Shay also served on the Visiting Board of the Hazel Carpenter Home, the Oneida Chamber of Commerce Board and Cornell's Human Ecology Alumni Trustee Board. Mrs. Shay resided in Oneida until she moved to Kendal in February 1996. Mrs. Shay was a member of the Oneida Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her daughter, D'Arcy C. Shay of Albany; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael D. and Janet W. Shay of Ithaca, Peter D. and Linda P. Shay of Canastota; four grandchildren, Margaret Shay, Andrew Shay, Matthew Shay, Roxanne Jolin; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Published in the Syracuse Post Standard on 6/29/2005. Waldron, Paul E. June 28, 2005 Paul E. Waldron, 76, of South Granby, died Tuesday at V.A. Medical Center, Syracuse. A native of Lysander, he was a life resident of the Granby area and lived in Sorrento, FL, during the winter months. He was a member of Carpenter's Local #747, Os-wego, and had previously worked at Sealright Company. He owned Waldron's Monster Yard. Mr. Waldron was a member of Cody Volunteer Fire Department and was an avid farmer and hunter. He was a Marine Corps veteran serving from 1944 to 1948. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth Waldron, who died in 2001. Surviving are seven children, Pearl (Fred) Cavallaro of Fulton, Ralph (Betty) Waldron of Fulton, Bruce Waldron of Fulton, Paul (Betty Lou) Waldron of Hannibal, Kendall (Heidi) Waldron of Fulton, Eleanor (Charles) Moore of Fulton and Veronica (Bryan) Elsworth of Fulton; a sister, Iva Gene Abell of Sorrento, FL; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
