Riggall, 75, of Marcellus, died Monday after a long courageous battle with kidney and heart disease at St. Joseph's Hospital. A life resident of Marcellus, he graduated from Auburn Community College with an associate's in AppliedSciences in 1965. He retired from Camillus Cutlery as a shipping foreman. He also worked various other jobs including being a chemist at Allied Chemicals, a janitor and bus driver for the Marcellus School District, security at Fulton and Brewerton Raceways, a truck driver and at Pinkerton Securities. He was a volunteer at Community General Hospital, a member of the Marcellus United Methodist Church. Bill did mission work at various churches in Russia, Panama and the United States. He was also involved with the Red Bird Mission, Brown Memorial, Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels . Bill was involved as a coach in Little League Baseball, Pop Warner Football, and Biddy Basketball. He was also the president of Nine Mile Senior Citizens. He loved Yankees baseball and Nascar races. He was predeceased by his son Robert Riggall May 16, 2005; parents, Carl and Lillian Rice Riggall; and sister Anna Weeks. Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Evelyn Leubner; daughters, Wanda May of Clay, Deborah Riggall of N. Schermerhorn, Jacob Philip June 29, 2005 Jacob Philip Schermerhorn, age 8, of 168 Greenland, Syracuse, died at home following a long illness. Jacob was born in Syracuse. He was a student at Salem Hyde Elementary School. Jacob loved being in school and was an active member of his class.Throughout his illness he continued to attend school and completed the second grade on Thursday, June 23. On the last day of school Jacob was named "Class Zoologist." Jacob was passionate about animals and he was considered by many to be an expert on dinosaurs. Last year he spent a day at the Smithsonian with a paleontologist who regarded Jacob as a colleague. Jacob touched the lives of every person he met and he will be remembered as an inquisitive, caring, determined and loving person. Survivors: his parents, Peter and Sarah (Fritz) Schermerhorn; his brother, Stephen; his maternal grandparents, Grace and Rudolph Fritz; his paternal grandmother, Lois Schermerhorn (Jacob was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Ed Schermerhorn); several aunts, uncles and cousins; his guinea pig, Pretzel.
