March 14, 2005 Jane M. Audet, 84, of Syracuse, died Monday at Loretto Nursing
Home, Syracuse. She was born in Lewiston, ME, where she lived most of her
life. She retired in 1984 after 43 years with Lepage Bakery and was a
communicant of St. Augustine's Church, Baldwinsville. Survivors: her husband
of 58 years, Robert J.; a daughter, Suzanne Rapp and her life companion Terry
Rosenbarker of Baldwinsville; four brothers, Lucien Martin of Turner, ME, Paul
F. Martin of Lewiston, ME, Marcel Martin of Lewiston, ME and Bertrand Martin

March 14, 2005 Ellen Solan Biviano passed peacefully Monday at Community
Hospital. Ellen was a parishioner of St. Brigid's Church. Surviving are
husband Thomas Biviano; four sons, John (Judy), Michael (Nina), Mark (Julie)
and Kevin (Kelly) Biviano; one daughter, Christine Beradi-Barletta (Edward
Agrasto); two brothers, Patrick (Carol) Solan and Sean (Lynda) Solan; four
sisters, May (Patrick) Boylan, Carmel (John) Rottkamp, Nora Solan and Alice
(Gus) Johnston; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter
Valarie Butler. Services are 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Edward J. Ryan & Son, Inc.,
and 9 a.m. in St. Brigid's Church. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling

March 13, 2005 Janet Buda, 79, of DeRuyter, died Sunday, March 13, 2005.
Survivors include one daughter, Jean Fay; three sons, Frank, Don and Bill
Stadelmann; three sisters, Marion Nash, Alice Sessler, Ella Krenrich; nine

Cannella March 13, 2005 Lucille (Costantini) Cannella, age 74, of Liverpool,
passed away Sunday at her home. She is survived by a son, Robert C. Senn of

Carr, George R.
March 13, 2005 George R. Carr, 87, of The Valley, died Sunday at Community
General Hospital. Born in Plattsburgh, he was a graduate of University of
Maine at Bangor. He taught journalism at Onondaga Community College and worked
with the South Side News. He retired as an editor with The Post-Standard in
1998 after 39 years. He was previously managing editor of The Press Republican
in Plattsburgh. Two years after joining The Post-Standard, George became
assistant state editor. He later was night city editor for six years. He was
promoted to state editor in 1978. He later worked as an editor on the sports
desk until he retired as a full-time employee in 1983. For the next 15 years
he worked part time on the sports desk, retiring in 1998, shortly after his
80th birthday. He enjoyed traveling and summers at Lake Champlain and winters
at Anna Maria Island, Fla. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church
and an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a
daughter, Mary Lynn Carr in 1993. George is survived by his wife, the former
Jean Mehan; three daughters and son-in-law, Corrie Lopipero of Camillus,
Barbara Carr of Liverpool and Kimberly (Eric) Broeker of Cicero; two sons,
William G. (Patricia) Carr and James S. Carr, both of Plattsburgh; 12
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Services: Wednesday, 9 a.m. at
Ballweg & Lunsford Funeral Home, Syracuse, and 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of

Cosselman, Henry   
March 13, 2005 Henry Cosselman, 63, of 822 County Route 1, Oswego, died Sunday
in the Oswego Hospital. He was born in Gloversville, NY, and has been a
resident of Oswego since 1960. He was retired from the Laborer Local #214
Oswego. Mr. Cosselman was president of the NYS Conservation Council, president
of the Leatherstocking Club, and president of the Oswego County Federation of
Sportsmen. He was inducted into the Sportsmen's Hall of Fame. He was
predeceased by one son, Timothy Mark Cosselman. Mr. Cosselman is survived by
his wife, Diane Mosher Cosselman of Oswego; one daughter, Renee Washington of
Oswego; two stepdaughters, Theresa Bailey and Brandy Lagasse, both of Ohio;
two stepsons, Roy Bailey and Jason Bailey, both of CA; nine brothers and
sisters; and 16 grandchildren. Calling hours will be Thursday 4 to 7 p.m. at

Davis, Robert Bruce
March 10, 2005 Robert Bruce Davis, 89, of Ocala, FL, died March 10, 2005. Born
in Butler, PA, he was a retired foreman at Carrier Heating & Cooling
Corporation. He moved to Florida from Syracuse in 1991. He was a member of
Queen of Peace Catholic Church, the Angela Santos VFW Post 4781, a collector
of golf cards, 31 Club in Oak Run, played baseball, and was an avid hunter.
Survivors: his wife, Jane Davis of Ocala, FL; a sister, Shirley Valentine of

DeRocha, Bruce G.   
March 12, 2005 Bruce G. DeRocha, 58, of Hannibal, died Saturday at home. Born
in Syracuse, Mr. DeRocha resided in the Hannibal area most of his life. He
retired in 2000 from Nestle Company, Fulton, after 30 years. He was an Army
veteran, serving in Vietnam. Mr. DeRocha was an avid hunter and enjoyed garden
tractor pulling. Survivors: his wife of 38 years, Linda of Hannibal; two
daughters, Penny DeRocha and Amy (Jeff) Gombas, both of Hannibal; two
granddaughters, Kayla DeRocha and Emma Gombas; a grandson, Zachary Gombas; his
mother, Thelma Dunn of Fulton; two brothers, Bradford and Douglas; two

March 14, 2005 Robert Glor, 56, of Fairmount, died Monday. Born in Camillus,
he served in the Air Force from 1967-75, then worked as a custodian at West
Genesee High School and later at the Camillus Town Hall. Survived by his

Kabat, Francis   
March 14, 2005 Francis "Frank" Kabat, 92, formerly of Fulton, died at St.
Mary's Hospital, Rochester, NY. He was born in Utica, NY. He was an accountant
for Sealright Co., Fulton. Mr. Kabat was a member and also served as the
financial secretary for the Polish Home from 1950-1990. He was a member and
reader at St. Michael's Church and St. Michael's Men's Club. Mr. Kabat was a
member of the Knights of Columbus, the Polish National Alliance, and the board
of directors at Fulton Catholic School. He is survived by his wife of 64
years, Jane Kabat of Rochester; his children, Michael (Sandra) Kabat of
Rochester, John Kabat of OH, and Cynthia (Philip) Gerrard of SC; his brother,
Stanley Kabot of Oriskany; and three grandchildren. Funeral services 9 a.m.

LaTant, Edna J.   
March 12, 2005 Edna J. LaTant, 92, of Fulton, died Saturday at Lee Memorial
Hospital, Fulton. She resided in the Fulton - Oswego area most of her life.
Mrs. LaTant had worked at General Electric Company in Liverpool and Birdseye
Division of General Foods in Fulton. Mrs. LaTant was a communicant of The
Church of the Immaculate Conception, Fulton. She and her husband were charter
members of the Volney Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary. Mrs. LaTant was
predeceased by her husband John E. LaTant who died in 1974, and a daughter
Beatrice A. Crandall who died in 2001. She is survived by a daughter, Blanche
M. Specht; a brother, Dwight Brown; two sisters, Irene Parker and Margaret
Jewett; seven grandchildren, John Crandall, Jackie Winterhalt, Jerri Phillips,

Lewis, Alice O'Neill
March 13, 2005 Alice O'Neill Lewis, 71, of East Syracuse, died Sunday at St.
Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Troy and has lived in East Syracuse 37
years. She retired from Jamesville DeWitt High School in 1997 as an English
teacher. She graduated from Albany State University with a BS in teaching. She
was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church in East Syracuse where she was a
Greeter and volunteered in the Second Time Around Store. She was a member of
the East Syracuse Garden Club and was an avid reader and gardener. Surviving:
her husband of 46 years, Richard A.; her six children, Margaret of East
Syracuse, Steven (Joanne) of Rochester, NH, Joan (Erin) Redmond of Crofton,
MD, Mark (Francesca) of Boise, ID, Amy (Mike) Pastuf of Pulaski, and Barbara
(Eric Schnettler) of Camillus; two grandsons, Daniel and Alex Pastuf; a
brother, John (Joyce) of Albuquerque, NM; a sister, Joan (Maurice) Foley of

LoBello, Lillian S.   
March 5, 2005 Lillian S. LoBello, 89, of Redwood, NY, died Saturday, March 5,
at her home. She was born in Michigan. Mrs. LoBello was employed with General
Electric of Syracuse for 25 years. She was well known in the area, and well
loved by her family and many friends. She loved gardening and the outdoors.
Mrs. LoBello was predeceased by her husband Charles LoBello. She is survived
two sons, Ernest (Hazel) Savage of Illion, and James (Elizabeth) Savage of
Fulton; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five
great-great-grandchildren. Burial was private. Local arrangements were by the
Sugar Funeral Home.

McManus, Evelyn E.
March 12, 2005 Evelyn E. McManus, 97, of Rochester, formerly of Endicott and
Auburn, NY, died Saturday, March 12, 2005, in Rochester. She was predeceased
by her husband James in 1969. She is survived by a daughter Patricia
O'Connell, Rochester; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a
sister-in-law, Exia Warner, Upland, CA; also several nieces, nephews and
cousins including a special nephew Clive Warner, Upland, CA. She was a former
member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Endicott, and a retired teacher
with the Union-Endicott School District, retiring after 42 years of service.
She was a member of the Retired Teachers' Association and was active in
legislation for Congress. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday 10 a.m.
at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, West Main Street, Endicott. Burial will be
in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. Arrangements by the Allen Memorial Home,

March 13, 2005 William H. Neupert, 58, of Baldwinsville, died Sunday at St.
Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse. He was a native of Baldwinsville and a graduate
of C.W. Baker High School, Baldwinsville. He was employed at Syroco in
Baldwinsville for 38 years and was an avid bowler and softball player.
Survivors: his wife of 17 years, the former Avis E. Hart; three daughters,
Laurie (William) Nitschke of Baldwinsville, Deborah Magee of Pennellville and
Sandra Magee of Baldwinsville; his parents, Henry and Helen Neupert of

Schlicke, Steven M.   
March 11, 2005 Steven M. Schlicke, 48, of Boston, MA, formerly of Syracuse,
died Friday at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Boston. He graduated from
Bentley College in 1978. He lived in Syracuse for many years and worked for
Agway Petroleum for nearly 20 years where was director of mergers and
acquisitions. He leaves a daughter Allison Schlicke of Syracuse; his father,
Robert Schlicke of Phillipston, MA; two brothers, Donald of Phillipston and
Kevin of Hopkinton, MA; two sisters, Susan Ziats of Middletown, PA and Cindy

Smith, Philip
March 8, 2005 Philip Smith, 84, of Clearwater, FL, died on Tuesday, March 8,
2005 at Morton Plant Hospital under the care of Hospice of the Florida
Suncoast. He moved here from his native Syracuse, New York in 1977. He retired
from Carrier Corporation after 25 years of service. He was Protestant and a
Navy veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, the DAV #103, and
the American Legion #273 in Madeira Beach. He volunteered with PARC to help
handicapped adults. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and casual dining. Survivors
include his wife of 63 years, Muriel; daughter, Phyllis Stewart, Irondequoit,
NY; three grandchildren, John Stewart, Valley Stream, NY, Linda Capicotto,
Webster, NY, Pamela Soule, Irondequoit, NY; 11 great-grandchildren. He was
predeceased by a daughter, Karen Smith.

Tooke, Gerald L.   
March 11, 2005 Gerald L. Tooke, 67, of Pardee Rd., Cicero, NY, died Friday at
his home. Born in Syracuse, NY, he was the son of the late Willard and Evelyn
(Torzil) Tooke. He served in the Navy from 1958 to 1960, and was an inspector
employed by New Venture Gear in Syracuse for 35 years, retiring in 2003. He is
survived by his mother, Evelyn (Torzil) Tooke, now of OH; one brother, Willard
(Veronica) T. Tooke of Findlay, OH; four nieces and one nephew; six
great-nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at

March 12, 2005 Dante Joseph Valenti, 5-1/2 week old son of Paul and Sarah
(Edlund) Valenti, of Syracuse, returned home to God from which he came, on
Saturday, March 12, 2005, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Surviving
besides his parents are a sister, Izabella; maternal grandparents, John (Rona)
Edlund and Mickey Edlund (David Smith); paternal grandparents, Vincent and
Mary Ann Valenti; paternal great-grandmother, Carmella Valenti; several aunts,

Wallace, Jessie M.   
March 12, 2005 Jessie M. Wallace, 99, formerly of Elbridge, died Saturday in
the Cayuga County Nursing Home. Born September 29, 1905, in Oswego, Miss
Wallace moved to Elbridge in 1930. She was a 1927 graduate of Oswego Normal
School. Jessie also attended Syracuse University and Buffalo State University.
She retired in 1965 after a teaching career spanning 37 years with the
Elbridge Central School and the Jordan-Elbridge School Districts. Jessie was a
member of Elbridge Community Church. She was a former church Sunday School
Superintendent. She was a member of NYS Retired Teachers' Association.
Surviving are a nephew, as well as special friends, Peter and Doris King and
family, and Barbara McNichol and family. Services will 2 p.m. Wednesday in the
Elbridge Community Church, E. Main St., with the Rev. James Stone officiating.
Spring burial will be in Union Village Rural Cemetery, Oswego. Contributions

Wulterkens, Deolinda   
March 13, 2005 Deolinda Wulterkens, 79, of Central Square, passed away Sunday
morning at home. She devoted her time volunteering at St. Michael's Church in
Central Square and to the Downstairs Scotty at the church. She was predeceased
by her husband Leo Sr. in 1982 and son Leo Jr. in 2001. Survivors: children,
Ron, Bob, Sandra Wulterkens and Dory Vincent; sisters, Delfina Starkey,
Cecelia Machado, Mary Lamothe, Hilda Levesque, Irene Lowney, Beverly Weston
and Pauline Perry; brothers, Joseph, Lewis, James and George Medeiros; nine
grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Calling hours Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. at
Traub Funeral Home, 684 North Main St., Central Square. Prayer services
Thursday at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home with Linda's funeral Mass at 10 a.m.
at St. Michael's Church. Spring burial Hillside Cemetery. Contributions may be

Wyant, Ladislava (Lottie)
March 13, 2005 Ladislava (Lottie) Wyant, 95, Lansing St., Auburn, died Sunday.
Survivors: children, Elanin (Frank) Sbelgio, Ohio, Edward (Patricia) Wyant,
Jean Shutter, Auburn; brother, Stanley (Mary) Pasik; sister, Helen Kott; seven
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Hyacinth Church. Calling hours Tuesday 4 to
7 p.m. at the Nicpon Funeral Home, 235 State St. Contributions to St. Hyacinth
Church.
