Drabot, 84, of Syracuse, died on Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital. A graduate of Eastwood High School, he was on the basketball and golf teams. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served with the 22nd Armored Division during World War II. He retired after 45 years from Crucible Steel. Mr. Drabot was a communicant of Transfiguration Church and a member of the International Approved Basketball Officials of CNY. Phillips Jr., 57, of Dunning Ave., Auburn, died Friday, March 18, 2005, at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse. Carl was born in Auburn on August 28, 1947. He was the son of Joan Young Phillips and the late Carl F. Phillips Sr. Carl served his country while in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a sergeant with the Cayuga County Sheriff's Department since 1990, retiring this year. As a law enforcement officer, Carl was a proud member of the Blue Knights. He is survived by his family: his loving and devoted daughters, Tracy Deal of Liverpool and Wendy Phillips of Weedsport; his mother, Joan Young Phillips; his grandchildren: Austin, Arielle and Alex Deal, and Brandon, Perry, Karleigh and Devin Harris; his siblings: Lorrie (Jim) Wasielewski, Linda (John) LeFever, Jay (Tina) Phillips, Tina (Lou) Santy, Ben (Deb) Phillips and Lisa Bowline. Carl is also survived by a close family friend, Diane Shaw, who contributed much love and support to Carl, his late wife Carol Mattoon Phillips, and their children; and Sue Cordileone, who helped Carl during his illness.
