Cook, 82, of North Syracuse, died Friday at Stonehedge Nursing Home. A native of Gardener, MA, she had lived in North Syracuse since 1945. She was employed as an engraver for 35 years with Gaylord Brothers, retiring in 1985. She was acommunicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, a member of North Syracuse Senior Citizens, Centerville Chapter No. 185 Order of the Eastern Star, Ilderim Temple No. 15 Daughters of the Nile, and American Legion Post No. 41 Auxiliary. She was born August 16, 1911, in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late Bert Cardwell and Nellie Cardwell. She was married in 1931 to one of Syracuse's most notable, nationally rec-ognized industrialists, the late J. Stanley Coyne. Coyne founded what would become, and still remains, one of the largest privately owned industrial laundry and textile rental companies in the United States. She later married the late Richard Adams in 1959, who predeceased her in 1979. She was a life resident of the Syracuse area and an active past member of the Corinthian Club, the Women's Golf League of Bellevue Country Club and a devout supporter of Immaculate Heart of Mary at Most Holy Rosary. A devout Roman Catholic, she was most recently a communicant of St. Joseph's Church of Camillus. Mrs. Adams was a loving mother and, above all things, enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by sons Gerald M. Coyne and Thomas M. Coyne, both of Syracuse, and John S. Coyne Jr. of Boca Raton, FL; daughters, Joanne Matina of Summit, NJ, and Susan Whitney of Tucson, AZ; many grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren. She had previously worked as a social worker at Syracuse Housing and at James Square Nursing Home. She was an admissions assistant at Hospice of Central New York. April 30, 2005 James Lawrence O'Brien, 62, of North Syracuse, died peacefully Saturday at Francis House with his family and companion at his side. A life resident of the Syracuse area, he was a Class of 1961 graduate of St. Anthony of Padua High School. Knownas "King of the D.J.s" and "Dean of the Dawn," Mr. O'Brien was a disc jockey with WNDR and WNTQ, retiring in 1995 following 34 years of service. Following his retirement, he worked in the Pro Shop at Bellevue Country Club. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, serving from 1966-1972. Slosek, Margaret (Even) April 30, 2005 Margaret (Even) Slosek, 92, a former resident of Gerritt St, Oswego, passed away Saturday April 30, 2005, at St. Luke's Health Services. Born in Gilbertville, Iowa, on October 8, 1912, she was the youngest of nine children of Theodore and Margaret(Schmitz) Even. She was educated in St. Mary's parochial school in Gilbertville. She graduated from Immaculate Conception Academy in Dubuque, Iowa, and completed her rural teacher training at Iowa State Teachers' College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She was a graduate of Syracuse University. Margaret taught in rural schools in Blackhawk County, Iowa, before her marriage to Anthony M. Slosek in 1940. She became a resident of Oswego, New York, where she did substitute teaching until 1957, when she was employed as a child welfare worker for Oswego County and for the city of Oswego until her retirement in 1971. Margaret was active in St. John's and St. Mary's parishes as a Legion of Mary member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Praesidium, serving as president of the Curia, an ordained lay minister, Eucharistic minister and lector. She also served as president of the Altar Rosary Society and an officer in Catholic Daughters. She was an oblate of St. Benedict, affiliated with Conception Abbey, Missouri. She was a member of the Oswego County Historical Society and the Heritage Foundation. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Anthony in 1990. She is survived by two daughters, Marian (John) Loosmann of East Syracuse, NY, and Theresa (Ronald) Wilson of Carmel, NY, and one son, Mark (Patricia) Slosek of Oswego, NY; seven grandchildren: Dr. Anne, John and Paul Loosmann, Gretchen Slosek Oliver, Gregory, Michael and Lucy Slosek; five great-grandchildren: Margaret, John, Ellie and Mia Loosmann, and Samuel Oliver; and many nieces and nephews. She was an avid camper and traveler. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Edward Stever, on January 29, 1991, and by her son Kenneth on March 31, 1963. Surviving are four children: Edward P. April 30, 2005 Charles E. Webb, 62, of Baldwinsville, died Saturday. Born in Syracuse, Chuck had a love for engines, especially if they were in boats or cars that could be driven fast. For 24 years Chuck was the proud owner and operator of Cold Springs Har-bour Marina, and during the 1970s he owned and operated Webb's Collision Auto Shop. In the 1960s, Chuck competed throughout the United States as a Top 10 AA-Fuel professional drag racer. An Irishman at heart, Chuck's brilliant creative wit and sense of humor made him a magnet for friends of all ages and from all walks of life. His local community nominated him to serve as a commissioner of the Seneca River Volunteer Fire Department, a position he held for several years. Nicknamed "Honest," Chuck's outspoken and autonomous nature inspired those who knew him. Chuck's enviable zest for life was always evident. He worked hard, played hard and loved hard. A 62-year-old with the heart and soul of a 16-year-old, he always lived how he wanted to. May Chuck's legacy live on through all who loved and were loved by him. His monumental generosity, irreplaceable friendship and love will truly be missed. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, the former, Constance Turo; son, Charles E.
