April 29, 2005 Frank S. Bacon, 59, died in his van when it overturned on Rt. 81S, April 29, 2005. Frank was a self-employed painter and had also been employed at Morse Manufacturing of E. Syracuse. Frank touched many lives and will be deeply missed by many great friends. Survived by two sons, Jason and Frank Jr. of Syracuse; two granddaughters, Caitlynn and Alicia; several brothers and sisters including John Pajack of Liverpool; his beloved "Honey" of 13 years, Barbara Holava of Syracuse; several nieces and nephews including Jeremy and Johnny Pajack. Coyne-Adams, Jessie May 1, 2005 Jessie (Cardwell) Coyne-Adams, 93, died May 1, 2005, at home. She was born August 16, 1911, in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late Bert Cardwell and Nellie Cardwell. She was married in 1931 to one of Syracuse's most notable, nationally rec-ognized industrialists, the late J. Stanley Coyne. Coyne founded what would become, and still remains, one of the largest privately owned industrial laundry and textile rental companies in the United States. She later married the late Richard Adams in 1959, who predeceased her in 1979. She was a life resident of the Syracuse area and an active past member of the Corinthian Club, the Women's Golf League of Bellevue Country Club and a devout supporter of Immaculate Heart of Mary at Most Holy Rosary. A devout Roman Catholic, she was most recently a communicant of St. Joseph's Church of Camillus. Mrs. Adams was a loving mother and, above all things, enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by sons Gerald M. Coyne and Thomas M. Coyne, both of Syracuse, and John S. Coyne Jr. of Boca Raton, FL; daughters, Joanne Matina of Summit, NJ, and Susan Whitney of Tucson, AZ; many grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren. William C. April 30, 2005 Ret. Col. William C. Dineen, 88, of Manlius, died at Loretto Fahey. A native of Syracuse, he graduated from Valley High School and attended Clarkson College. He entered the New York Army National Guard in 1940 and was activated into federal service with the 27th Infantry Division nine days later, serving until 1950 when he was released from federal service. He returned to the New York Army National Guard and retired in 1969 as commanding officer of the 27th Field Artillery Brigade, at the rank of colonel. During WWII, he served in the European and Asiatic-Pacific Theaters and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in Eastern France and the Bronze Star Medal for heroic achievement for action. Other awards he received include the WWII Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, American Defense Medal and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal. He was territorial manager for State Equipment Co. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, Fayetteville. He was a member of the Cavalry Club and enjoyed golf and skiing. Survivors: his wife of 63 years, the former Isabella English; two sons, William J. (Jane) of Tucson, AZ, and Michael J. (Patricia) of Houston, TX; three daughters: Kathryn A. (Ronald) Balduzzi of Baldwinsville, Nancy E. (Edmund) Vianney and Janet E. Lawton, Kathryn April 29, 2005 Kathryn Lawton, age 85, formerly of Rome Road, Pulaski, died Friday at Pontiac Nursing Home, Oswego. She was a life resident of Pulaski and graduated from Pulaski High School in 1936. She married Eldon Lawton, who died on June 19, 1969. She was employed by the Club in Redfield for many years. Kathryn was an avid gardener and bird watcher. Surviving are one son, Timothy of Pulaski; two daughters, Patricia Spicer and Linda Jukes both of Florida; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. Nottage, Donn R. May 2, 2005 Donn R. Nottage, W8JGP, 70, of Skaneateles, died Monday, May 2, 2005. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Albert C. and Madeline Agnes Nottage. He was a physics major at John Carroll University and received a master's de-gree in illuminating engineering from Case Western Reserve in Cleveland. He served in the U.S. Army and held the world record in the All American Army Team for distance rifle. He had a diverse background in research and development with General Electric Co., which progressed into a sales and marketing management position. He began his own business 22 years ago, Nottage & Assoc., Inc., specializing in the sale of high tech passive and active electronic components and systems. He was an active amateur radio operator for 54 years. Memberships include the AOPA, NRA, ARRL, QCWA, Skaneateles Rotary Club, and past president of the Skaneateles Lions Club. Surviving are his loving wife of 19 years, Frances A. Nottage; children, Lynnette (John) Agnew, Gregory (Claude) Nottage, David, Robert and Leesa Nottage; stepdaughter, Kelly; brother, Albert C. Panarites, of Syracuse, passed away on May 1, 2005 at home after an extended illness and complications related to quadriplegia. Mrs. Panarites was born in Syracuse on April 4, 1925. She graduated from Syracuse University in 1946with a B.S. degree in business education. She was a devoted member of AOII sorority. She taught business courses at Split Rock High School and then relocated to New York City where she worked in the national office of The Boy Scouts of America. She also worked for several years at Bristol Myers in Syracuse. Mrs. Panarites was a member of St. Sophia's Greek Orthodox Church. In 1960 she moved to Ilion, NY and married Constantine J. Panarites. She became a full-time mother, raised three children and was an active member in the Ilion Little Theater Club where she both directed and acted in several local plays. Mrs. Panarites returned to Syracuse in 1986. On June 20 1992 she was involved in a car accident, which left her a quadriplegic. Despite this tragedy, she worked hard at her lengthy rehabilitation and persisted until she could live independently at home. She accomplished this through her strong will to survive, amazing courage and determination. She leaves two daughters and one son, Dr. Helen Panarites of Atlanta, GA., Febronia and her husband, Steven Murphy, of Whitesboro, NY and James Panarites of Muncy, PA. She also leaves four grandchildren, Christina Murphy, Brendan Murphy, Mia Panarites and Jamie Panarites; and a sister, Angeline Annes of Baldwinsville, NY. May 1, 2005 Gladys R. Parkhurst, 77, of 20 N. Beaver St., Jordan, died Sunday at home. Born in Rome, Mrs. Parkhurst lived the Syracuse area since 1962. She was the widow of Thomas L. Parkhurst who died in 2003. Gladys retired after several years from Mead Containers in Camillus. She was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, Jordan. Gladys was a member of the J-E Senior Citizens, Canton Woods Senior Citizens, and the Camillus Elks Lodge 2367 Auxiliary. Surviving are her son, Thomas S. Planes, Jane May 1, 2005 Jane Planes, 86, formerly of New York City, died peacefully surrounded by her family Sunday night at the home of her daughter in Liverpool. It was her desire that she could pass at home and her family honored that request. Her husband Ralph died in 1997. A native of Long Island, Jane lived and worked most of her life in Queens County. Surviving are her four children, Lenny Planes of Black River, Jane Riscica of New Jersey, Gene Planes of Virginia and Elena Fabella of Liverpool, and their significant others, Daniel MacDougal, Anthony Riscica, and Paul Fabella; and eight grandchildren. Her sisters, Rose Werner and Josephine Veress, and many nieces and nephews, also survive her. Her brothers, Joseph and John Prince, and her sisters, Ann Monaco and Frances Niejadlik, also predeceased her.
