Maria worked at Pass and Seymour as an assembler for35 years, retiring in 1964. She was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church and past member of its Altar and Rosary Society, and was a past member of the Solvay Senior Citizens. Maria was a creative seamstress and lived to enjoy being the mother of four generations. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony in 1992. Surviving are two daughters, Leona Borell and Josephine Thomas, both of Geddes; two grandchildren, John A. In 1960 they settled in Fulton to raise their family, then in 1974 moved to Adams, NY, and enjoyed many years of retirement. Elizabeth"Betty" enjoyed family visits, road trips to the Adirondack Mountains, especially enjoyed lake views and Fall foliage. Frances graduated from Cornell University in the class of 1938 and later married Robert Zilliox. They resided in Saranac Lake and raised a family consisting of Roger Zilliox, now residing in Cortland, NY and Evelyn Hill of Peyton, CO. After Robert's death in 1968 she returned to Candor and eventually was married to William Hafermalz of Dryden. Additionally she is survived by her stepson, Frederick W. Hank was born April 30, 1928 in Cortland, NY, the son of the late Henry E. and Susan Peck Halstead. Hank graduated from Cortland High School in 1946, then graduated from Morrisville College, Cornell, and Trinidad State Jr. College. He was a master gunsmith and was owner of Hank's Gun Shop for 40 years. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Solon Sportsman's Club, National Trapper's Association, E.L.O.S.T.A., and Skyline Pistol Club. Bob was Mom's favorite who thoroughly loved to pick on his sisters.Bob fought a courageous battle with diabetes. Bob sacrificed all of his time and devoted all of his love to his family. (Hapanowich) Ruszczyk, 88, of East Syracuse, died at Iroquois Nursing Home. She was a homemaker and avid Bingo player. She was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church, East Syracuse. Sergott, Cecelia Herubin May 18, 2005 Cecelia Herubin Sergott, 82, a lifelong area resident of Yorkville, passed away in the comfort of her home with her family at her side on Wednesday, May 18, 2005. She was born in Utica on April 26, 1923, the daughter of James and Stella Dardzinski Herubin, and attended local schools. On July 28, 1945, she married Benedict Sergott in Utica. He died on March 5, 1959. Her survivors include her son and his wife, Raymond and Therese Sergott of Liverpool, NY; two grandsons, Michael and his wife Kristin Sergott of Clifton Park, NY, and Mark Sergott of Liverpool and his friend Kristine Tyler of Liverpool; and a sister, Gladys and her husband Edward Benkowski of Whitesboro. She was formerly of Strathmore Dr. and Sequoia Dr. She was born in Manhattan, NY. She was employed with the credit department of Chase Manhattan Bank, formerly LincolnBank, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Chase Manhattan Retirees and was a volunteer at Community and St. Joseph's Hospital. Mary was a communicant of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. She was predeceased by her husband, Martin J. White in March 2000. She is survived by four daughters, Christine (Joseph) Weidner of Skaneateles, Irene White of Walnut Creek, CA, Anne (Erik) White-Olson of Silver Spring, MD and Mary Ellen (James) Turner of Downers Grove, IL; a son, Robert (Nancy) of Syracuse; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
