May 17, 2005 Anthony J. Bonacci, 89, of Camillus, died quietly at Community General Hospital on May 17, 2005, after fighting a long illness. He was born in Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy and Ryder College. He moved to Syracuse and married Florence Palumbo in 1951. Tony was employed as a food broker and retired with Food Associates in 1988. He loved nature, fishing, golf and SU basketball, and was a member of Holy Family Church. He was predeceased by his wife Florence, and his sister Katherine V. of Utica, both in 2001. He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Masso (and husband Antonio) of Jackson Heights, NY, and Florence A. Bonacci of Camillus; James and Dorothea Palumbo and family of Syracuse; several other nieces and nephews, and many cousins in the Bonacci, Falvo, Calogero, Peluso and Toti families, among those Anthony and Eleanor Bonacci Bertin and Bill and Phyllis Toti of Utica. "Judy" Carhart, 70, of Smith Rd., Hamilton, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2005, at Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton. Born January 18, 1935, in Minoa, NY, she was a daughter of Everett and Winifred Dennison Carney, and was a graduate of Minoa High School. On November 27, 1954, Judy was united in marriage to Eugene L. Carhart in Minoa. They made their home and began farming together in Pompey, NY, from 1955 until 1967, when they moved to Hamilton. Mr. Carhart predeceased her on May 18, 1997. Mrs. Carhart was a partner in the family's White Eagle Farms. She was also a teacher's aide at Hamilton Central School for many years until her retirement. Judy was a full-time mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who enjoyed and lived for her family and friends and was a wonderful cook. Mrs. Carhart was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Hamilton and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Very active in community affairs, Judy was a member of the Community Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; the FFA Advisory Board; and volunteered at Worn Again. She was a member of the Log Cabin Quilters; and attended the Community Wellness Center. Surviving are her mother, Winifred Carney of Minoa; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Tom Murray of Waterloo; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Larry Carhart, Edward and Tori Carhart, all of Hamilton, Christopher Carhart and his fiancee Ellen Reagan of Clinton; a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly and Dominick Petterelli of Minoa; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Dorothy Carney of East Syracuse; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Luke is survived by his parents of Oswego; two brothers, Anthony Bruce DiBlasi and Joseph Lewis DiBlasi; his paternal grandparents, Dr. B. Anthony and Margaret DiBlasi of Oswego; his maternal grandparents, Bruce and Patricia Lester of Oswego; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Dunn, Kenneth R. May 17, 2005 Kenneth R. Dunn, 81, of Vero Beach, died May 17, 2005, at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach. He was born September 27, 1923 in Bernard Fields, County Down, England. Mr. Dunn served in the Royal Tank Regiment of The British Army of the Rhine, during WWII. He married Ingelore Paris, whom he met during WWII, in Schleswig, Germany, June 21, 1947. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Dunn worked for Carrier Corp., Syracuse, NY, until his retirement in 1978 when he moved to Vero Beach. He is survived by his three sons, Ronald (Marie) Dunn of Central Square, NY, William Dunn of Vero Beach, Robert (Amy) Dunn also of Vero Beach; daughter, Roxanne (George) Ruston of Cicero, NY; grandchildren, Peter Dunn, Wayne Dunn, Christopher (Michelle) Ruston, and Jennifer Ruston; great-granddaughter, Annie Dunn; sister, Betty Wyatt of Upper Richmond, W., East Sheen, London, England; niece, Denise Kortekaas of Richmond, Surrey, England; and nephew, Neil Mathieson of Chaldon Caterham, Surrey, England. Andrew was a graduate of the Formation of Ministry Program serving Immaculate Heart of Mary Church where he was past president of the Holy Name Society. He was a volunteer at Francis House, a member of the Salina Seniors and General Electric Quarter Century Club. He was predeceased by his parents, Andrew and Anna Koval, and his sister, Mary Martin. Meltzer, Jacob May 19, 2005 Jacob Meltzer, 92, of Fayetteville, died Thursday at his residence. Mr. Meltzer was a life resident of Syracuse. Jacob was the former president of Tri-State Auto Auction which he founded in 1976 with his late brother Ben, and his son Elliott. Ja-cob was an active philanthropist in the Jewish community of Central New York. He was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun, Philo-Mt. Sinai Masonic lodge, and a 40-year member of LaFayette Country Club. Survived by his wife Jeanette of 67 years; their son Elliott; their daughter Elaine (Alan) Goldman; their grandchildren, Jonathan (Mandy) and Matthew Goldman, Daniel (Cindy), David (Sharon), and Jason Meltzer; and their great-grandchildren, Noah, and Evan Meltzer. May 19, 2005 Gordon Paul Noble, 79, peacefully passed away on Thursday at University Hospital, with family at his side, (after a heart attack on Monday). Born in Earlville, he was a resident of Manlius. Gordon was a 1943 graduate of Manlius High School andworked as a master steeple jack and machinist. He was a member for 47 years at the Manlius First Baptist Church and a volunteer and honorary member of the Manlius Fire Dept. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WW II, receiving 5 medals including the Air Medal for active combat. Most notably he and his wife of 47 years lovingly raised seven children. Survivors: His wife, Virginia J. Noble; his children, Sharon Ausman of Clay, Gary Jamieson of Honesdale, PA, David Jamieson of Canastota, JoAnn Klinetop of Phoenix, Scott Noble of Charlottesville, VA, Sheila Miceli of St. James, Long Island; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. May 19, 2005 Alan E. Vedder went home to his Creator May 19, surrounded by his family. Born April 2, 1930 to Alice Winchell and A. Stanley Vedder, he was a teacher and coach for six decades. He graduated high school at Staunton Military Academy (VA) 1949where he captained the football, basketball, and baseball teams, earning All-State honors in basketball. He graduated from Colgate University BS 1953, where he started for three years as a cornerback, linebacker, and center. He received his MBA from Cortland State. He helped establish Fayetteville Little League. He coached football, baseball, and track at Manlius Military Academy and coached football, basketball, and Lacrosse at Fayetteville-Manlius School, retiring in 1984. At F-M he was chairman of the history department and Section 3 football chairman. He coached football and lacrosse at Colgate University, coached football at Hamilton College and SUNY Morrisville. He was co-founder and President of the CNY Chapter of the National Football Foundation. He was the first recipient of the Outstanding Contributor to Amateur Football NYS by US Football Association. He served two tours of active duty (Japan and Germany) in the US Air Force. He co-authored books on the history of Christ Church (Manlius) and the history of Trinity Church (Fayetteville). He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Allison.
