(Matthews) Amond May 19, 2005 Janet E. (Matthews) Amond, 69, of Malone, died Thursday, May 19, 2005 at Alice Hyde Medical Center. Born in Churubusco, NY on June 19, 1935, she was the daughter of Sidney and Veronica (Whalen) Matthews. They predeceased her. Mrs. Amond graduated from St. Joseph's School, Malone. She was employed by Carrier Corp. after High School and was also employed by Marine Midland, Syracuse retiring after 19 years of service. She had been employed by Kmart in Malone for the last four years. Janet loved bargain shopping and antiques. She attended St. Helens' Church, Chasm Falls. She was loved dearly by her family, had many friends and will be missed by all. She married Leland Amond on December 28, 1957 in St. Daniels Church in Lyncourt, NY. Survivors besides her husband 47 yrs. are three children and their spouses, Cheryl and David Tant of Parish, Dale and Kim Amond of Liverpool, and Michelle and Lauren Standard of Fulton; two grandchildren, Kevin and Katie Amond; a great-grandson, Camren Amond; and a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jim Smellie of West Monroe. Denison, of Liverpool, passed away Sunday, at Birchwood Health Care Center. He was born September 12, 1916 in Canaseraga, NY. He graduated from Elmira Free Academy and Bliss Electrical School. Robert was employed by IBM, Talon Fastener Co., Bonded Freightway, American LaFrance Fomite Co., and Merchants Bank. He spent most of his time in Elmira and Liverpool and was a member of the Liverpool First United Methodist Church. Some of Robert's happiest hours were spent in the hills of New York, hunting for that elusive deer. His other hobbies included fishing and golf. Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Edythe Hartman Denison; daughter, Janet Harrington of California; son, John Denison of Cicero; and his biggest delight was spending time with his three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Holtman, Marie K. May 21, 2005 Marie K. Holtman, 78, of Baldwinsville, completed a full, rich life on Saturday, May 21, 2005, following a lengthy illness. Born on May 3, 1927, in Schenectady, NY, she was the daughter of the late John Krause and Helen D'Avignon. Raised inSchenectady and in Clayburg, Clinton County, NY, she was a 1945 graduate of Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady. She married the late Bernard Holtman at St. John the Evangelist Church there on November 26, 1953, and they shared a life of humor and happiness until his death in January 1988. A resident of Baldwinsville since 1957, she was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a volunteer for FISH and Meals On Wheels. She was a talented watercolor and pastel artist, and a passionate gourmet cook. Most importantly, Marie was a devoted wife, extraordinary mother, and a gentle soul. Kerwood, William "Bill" May 23, 2005 Bill Kerwood, 80, of Baldwinsville, died peacefully Monday at Veterans Medical Center. He was born in Troy, NY, and has lived in Baldwinsville since 1937. "Pops" took great pride and enjoyment in raising and caring for his family with his beloved wife of 58 years, Betty. His greatest joy in life was his wonderful bond with his wife, who recently died on April 16, 2005. Bill had a deep devotion and faith in the loving will of God and was a communicant of St. Mary's Church. He was an Army veteran of WW II, where he served in France and Germany in the Signal Corps. He worked in the food service industry, running the Troy Grocery Company in downtown Baldwinsville and later working for Pepperidge Farm and Paul de Lima Coffee Company.
