DeSiato Jr., Salvatore "Sam" DeSiato Jr. May 26, 2005 Salvatore "Sam" DeSiato Jr., of Liverpool, went to be with the Lord on Thursday with his wife and sister at his side. Sam was a former employee of G.E. and retired from Miller Can Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard in Worldriday War II. Mr. DeSiato was a member of the Salina Town Hall Seniors and a communicant of the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception. He was predeceased by his parents, Salvatore and Antoinette DeSiato, and his three brothers, Michael, Joseph and John. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Donna Colucci DeSiato; sons, Sam (Angela) DeSiato of Aurora, CO, and Daniel J. of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Diane (Dan) Gersten of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren, Danielle DeSiato Creveling, Zachary and Chloe Gersten; sister, Rose Armani of Liverpool; several nieces and nephews. Fernan, age 85, of 219 Lake St., Pulaski, died Friday at her home. Born on July 1, 1919, in Yonkers, NY, she was the daughter of Peter and Anna Yastremski Kiklowicz. Ann has resided in Pulaski since 1946, previously living in Buffalo. She graduated from Bradford Central High School in 1936, later graduating from Cosmetology School. She married Bernard L. Fernan on Sept. 7, 1946, in Bradford, NY. She owned and operated Ann's Beauty Shop for 25 years. She was a member of the St. John's Evangelist Church, Pulaski, and the Altar & Rosary Society. She was a volunteer at Pulaski Public Library. She was a member of the Tuesday Ladies Golf League at the Elm's Golf Club and she was also an avid bridge player. Surviving are her husband, Bernard L.; one son, Peter and his wife Deborah Fernan of Watertown; one daughter, Bernadette Fernan of Pulaski; one sister, Helen Frost of Burdett, NY; two grandchildren. She was predeceased by one daughter, Michele Scenna, who died April 10, 1990. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the St. John's the Evangelist Church, Pulaski, with Rev. Fitzgibbons Sr. passed away on May 26, 2005, at the King Street Nursing Home in Rye Brook. He was 94 years old. Mr. Fitzgibbons was born in Dorchester, MA, on June 30, 1910, to James and Bridget Fitzgerald Fitzgibbons. He graduated from Boston College High School and received an accounting degree from Bentley College, Waltham, MA. He lived in Syracuse, NY, for 20 years and then Scarsdale, NY, for 30 years and was a parishioner of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scarsdale, NY, for 30 years. Mr. Fitzgibbons worked for Allied Stores (now Federated Department Stores) for over 40 years in executive positions at Hovey's in Boston, MA; Dey Brothers in Syracuse, NY; and Allied Stores Headquarters in New York City. He retired as executive V.P. and treasurer of Gertz Department Stores, in Long Island, NY. Mr. Fitzgibbons was a member of Shenorock Shore Club Rye, NY; also the Old Guard of White Plains where he served on the Membership Committee and was a Lawn Bowling Coordinator. He was voted Man of the Year circa in 1990 by the members. He was a trustee and board treasurer at Jamaica Hospital and Nursing Home in Jamaica, Long Island; he was a trustee at Le Moyne College, Syracuse, NY, and received an honorary degree (Doctor of Humane Letters) from the College. Mr. Fitzgibbons was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Helen Walsh Fitzgibbons. Survivors include three sons, John P., M.D., Allentown, PA, David W., Scottsdale, AZ, and Paul S. Fitzgibbons, Richmond, VA; a daughter, Jane A. Fitzgibbons, Falls Church, VA; and a daughter-in-law, Beverly A. Fitzgibbons. Also surviving are four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret F. Black; a sister-in-law, Trudy Walsh; and nephew, Richard J. Walsh and his wife Carol and their son Richard. Fornario, Alvin May 26, 2005 Alvin Fornario, 80, of Syracuse, died May 26, 2005, after a long illness. Born in New York, he lived in Syracuse most of his life. He attended Columbia University, Syracuse University, and graduated from Le Moyne College in 1959. He worked as an electrical engineer and retired from General Electric in 1970. He worked on the NASA Apollo Project in Wiesbaden, Germany. He was employed as a systems analyst at Auburn State Penitentiary from 1970 until 1985. He enjoyed traveling and frequently visited Europe after he retired. He was a WWII veteran of foreign wars. Survivors: his wife of 58 years, Ingrid L. Bruendel; six daughters, Erika Wagner of Tallahassee, Florida, Suzanna Hier, Regina Hall, Marian Mahar, Laurie Sabel and Rebecca York, all of Syracuse; two brothers, Frank of Orange County and Nicholas of Maryland; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Born and raised in East Syracuse, Jonathan graduated from East Syracuse-Minoa High School with the class of 2004, where he played football and lacrosse. He had a gifted mechanical aptitude and was employed as a boat mechanic by Boatworks Inc. Jonathan loved hotrods, motorcycles, and spending time with his friends. Knight, Margaret Dudley May 25, 2005 Known for her loving, gentle and selfless spirit, Margaret, 46, passed away peacefully at her home in Takoma Park, MD, surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, May 25, 2005. Margaret grew up in Manlius, NY, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Colgate University in 1980, double-majoring in English and Latin. A longtime resident of Washington, D.C., Margaret was an active member of the Friends Meeting of Washington (Quakers). Beloved wife of Gregory J. Knight, she is also survived by her parents, William and Doris Dudley; three brothers, Paul (Heidi Lyons), W. Naumann Jr., Marshall O. May 26, 2005 Marshall O. Naumann Jr., 77, passed away at home early Thursday morning, surrounded by his family. A lifetime resident of Central New York, he was a graduate of Baker High School and received a B.S. in biology from Le Moyne College as a member ofits first graduating class in 1951. He was a World War II Naval veteran. He started his career with International Harvester, then began a career as a certified CLU agent with Mass Mutual. He was a past president of the Oneida Lake Association, and also served on the board of directors. He was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Church and served as head usher there for many years. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and bird watching. Survivors: his wife of 54 years, Patricia; two brothers, Paul and Ronald; four children, Marshall III, Kristin, Stephen and Howard; seven grandchildren, Sarah, Caroline, Andrew, Nicholas, Tyler, Erica, and Stephen Cooper; plus several nieces and nephews.
