Ellis St., East Syracuse, died Thursday at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was a lifelong resident of E. Syracuse. He retired from Conrail in 1980 as a caller and he was a fireman and engineer with the former NY Cen-tral. He served with the 3rd Marine Division in the Pacific and participated in the amphibious landings at Bougainville and Guam. He was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church of E. Syracuse, Arthur Butler American Legion Post 359, James F. Ray VFW and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers. His wife, the former Hazel Wright, died in 1992, and a daughter, Clair Lyn Campbell, died in 1953. He is survived by three sons, Bernard (Lois) of East Syracuse, Daniel (JoAnn) of Minoa, Everett of Junction City, CA; and a daughter, Margaret (The late Joe) Frigon of Jamesville; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Services Monday at noon at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Burial White Chapel Memory Gardens DeWitt. Cavedine, 79, of Solvay, and Venice, FL, passed away peacefully Thursday at Community General Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was a life resident of Solvay, and was a US Navy Veteran of World War II. Mr. Cav-edine founded Cavedine Sales and Service in Solvay in 1956. His memberships included the Tyrol Club of Solvay, the Geddes Veterans, American Legion, Geddes Seniors and Westvale Country Club. He was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church. He enjoyed to hunt, fish, golf and most of all, spend time with his family. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, the former Elizabeth Bevivino; three daughters, Donna (Marty) Martin, of Camillus, Joanne Cavedine, of Ohio and Lynn (Doug) Fedrizzi, of Solvay; two sons, Stephan, of Camillus and Joseph D. (Shannon), of Baldwinsville; one brother, Angelo, of Solvay; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; several nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Cecilia's Church, 1001 Woods Rd., Solvay. Private burial will be in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery. There are no calling hours. A life resident of Syracuse, Floyd was the owner-operator of Floyd Creaser Quality Used Cars, Inc. He was a member of the Syracuse Chamber of Commerce. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen Dickhart Creaser; his son, Floyd Howard (Donna) Creaser of Onondaga Hill; his daughter, Diane Marlow of Cicero; five grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Fear, 89, of Jordan, NY, died Wednesday, September 28, 2005, at Cayuga County Nursing Home, Auburn, NY. Lena was born, July 6, 1916, the daughter of the late Karl and Alice Boyd Gauger. She was a resident of Jordan for most of her life. She was a member of the Cato and Victory Senior Citizens and the Blue Bird Society. She was a former member of the Town of Cato Zoning Board of Appeals for many years. She retired from Cato Showprint, Cato. She is survived by two daughters, Helen F. Sackett, born Barbara M. Bell to Herbert and Sarah Bell in Hackensack, NJ, May 20, 1924, passed away in Sarasota, FL, on September 22. Barbara came to Syracuse with her late husband, Frank L. Sackett, in November of 1944. In 1950, they moved to Brewerton where they owned and operated Sackett's Restaurant until the 1980's. Anyone who went to Sackett's always knew Barbara as the "worker" behind the scenes. Whether for a bowling banquet, wedding reception, fund raiser or family gathering, Barbara was always there to help. Her job in life was to worry about everyone else, giving comfort to anyone in need. Above all else, it was her family and friends that Barbara treasured the most. After retirement, Barbara resided full time in Bradenton, FL. She is survived by two daughters, Angeline Sackett of Fort Myers, FL, Deborah Reuter of Central Square, NY; a sister, Gloria Barnello of Liverpool, NY; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Shimer, 72, of Syracuse, died on Friday at Francis House. She attended Eastwood High School and Powelson Business School. She had retired from the Syracuse University School of Nursing in 1993. She had formerly been em-ployed by the Law School and Registrars office at SU, Western Electric Company, the Rand Corporation and Melody Record Shop. She was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and a former member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Camillus. Mrs. Shimer had a great sense of humor. She had an enduring love for her husband, children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Frank H. of Syracuse; son, Stephen P. of Syracuse; two daughters, Susan K. Shimer of Chicago, Elizabeth A. Nemier of Jamesville; two sisters, Beverly Kay of Camillus, Carol Stauffer of Syracuse; two brothers, Phillip Klaehn of Baldwinsville, Stephen Klaehn of Camillus; two grandchildren, Sarah E. and Benjamin S.
