Born in Lansing, NY, she resided in the Syracuse area since 1953. She retired in 1986 after 31 years with Sears & Roebuck Co. Alice was a member of the Bellevue Heights Methodist Church. She was known at the nursing home as the puzzle lady. Several of her puzzles are framed and hanging on the walls at the nursing home. She was predeceased by her husband Carl in 1981; her sister Evelyn Morse; and her brothers, George, Fred, Robert and Carl Stevenson. October 5, 2005 Elsie Ferguson Bex, 82, of LaFayette, passed away Wednesday at Community General Hospital with her family by her side. She was born in South Onondaga to Emerson and Leatah Plank Ferguson and was the seventh of eight children. She lived most of her life in Manlius and Jamesville. She was a 70+ year member of the First Baptist Church of Manlius, the Women's Fellowship, the American Baptist Women, a deaconess and a member of the Mission Board. She worked for ten years as secretary for the East Syracuse-Minoa School. Elsie with her husband have been members of the Wally Byam Caravan Club International (WBCCI Airstream) for 17 years. Their present membership is with the Finger Lakes Unit. Survivors: her husband of 62 years, Kenneth L. Bex; three sons, Donald (Brenda) and Christopher (Kathy) of Jamesville, Kenneth A. A life resident of Solvay, he was a hammer man at Crucible Steel for over 40 years before retiring in 1974. Custa was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church, a member of the Crucible Retirees Club, the Knights of the Cross and was an original member of the Solvay Tigers. He was predeceased by his wife, Anna in 2003 and son-in-law, Bennie in 2004. He had bravely fought leukemia his entire life. He attended Solvay High School and was enrolled in the BOCES program for automotive repair. He restored his first car last year with his fa-ther when he first learned to drive. He loved riding motorcycles and attended Camp Good Days each summer. Matt's other hobbies were roller skating and video gaming. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was very close to his grandmother, Kathy Riker, of Solvay. Matthew was predeceased by his mother, Wendy Lynn (Highbrown) Riker in 1998. He missed his mother very much. At home are his father, Timothy J. Riker, and younger brother, Kevin, to whom Matt was very close. Matt had two older brothers, Tim of Solvay and Grant of Syracuse. He was a lifetime member of the Mad River Club, also a member of Ma Barkers' Cribbage League, Pulaski. Fred loved the outdoors and spent many hours at his Tug Hill Camp. He was employed with NRG Oswego Harbor Power as the Operations Manager for more than 29 years. Bruce coached and was active with the Fulton Junior Baseball organization. He was a dedicated member of the Malden-West Camp Volunteer Fire Department for many years and an avid, masterful fabricator of various materials. Bruce was predeceased by his father, William Wrolsen, who died in 2005.
