September 8, 2005 Russell H. Adams, Sr., 70, of Syracuse, passed away on Thursday after a brief, but courageous battle with cancer. At the time of his death, he was comforted by his entire family. Russell retired after 43 years with Lockheed Martin. He was acoach for nine years with Eastwood Little League and had been affiliated with the Eastwood Bears Football since 1970; where he received the prestigious John Smith Founders Award and Recognition of Excellence award. Russell is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Marsha (Lamb); two wonderful sons, Russell, Jr. (Nanette), Joseph (Marianne); three beautiful daughters, Deborah (Chuck) Patterson, Colleen and Shannon Adams; five beloved grandchildren, Matthew and Eliza Patterson, Kyle Adams, Chris and Ben Lawrence; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are to be held Tuesday 11 a.m. at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Miss Casbarra was a native of Frankfort and moved to North Syracuse in 1994 to be closer to members of her family. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Casbarra and Susan (Carl) Fairclough both of North Syracuse; and her brother, Silver (Hazel) Casbarra of Wrentham, MA. Additional survivors include six nieces and nephews; 17 grandnieces and nephews and three great-grandnieces and nephews all of whom she lovingly doted upon. Miss Casbarra graduated from Oswego State College and tried her hand at teaching but changed to a civil service career at Rome's Air Force Base retiring after 36 years as a materials supply supervisor. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in North Syracuse and previously of St. Mary's Church in Frankfort. Services will be Monday 9:30 a.m. at Fergerson Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse with entombment following in Woodlawn Cemetery's Sunset Chapel Mausoleum. He was a graduate of West Genesee High School, and was formerly employed for 19 years by the town of Camillus. Mike was a past member of the Fairmount Fire Depart-ment. He was an avid bow hunter and woodworker. He enjoyed music, cooking and his hot tub, but most enjoyed spending time with his friends at their summer home on Bradley Brook Reservoir in West Eaton. Mike was predeceased by his parents, Annalise and Michael Kostyk Sr. He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate of 20 years, Amy Woods Kostyk; his father-in-law, George Woods of Munnsville; sister-in-law, Sally Gorsky of Liverpool; nephew, Wayne Gorsky; nieces and goddaughters, Sarah and Laura Gorsky. Pattinson, Elsa "Johnnie" September 7, 2005 Elsa "Johnnie" Pattinson, 95, formerly of Chittenango, died Wednesday at home at the Park Terrace at Raddison. Born September 29, 1909 in Jakobstad, Finland, Mrs. Pattinson came to the U.S. in 1916 and to Syracuse in 1938. She latermoved to Chittenango where she resided over 50 years. She owned and operated the Merle Norman Studio in Syracuse and later in Shoppingtown for 56 years. Retiring in 1995. Mrs. Pattinson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Chittenango. She was predeceased by her husband, John T. in 1979. Surviving are two sisters, Elna Swanberg of Woodland, WA and Gladys Burrill of Prospect, OR; and several nieces and nephews. (Smith) Ried, 81, longtime resident of Syracuse and Wellesley Island, NY, died Tuesday, September 6, 2005 at Crouse Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was the daughter of Nina Clarke and Chester W. Inglehart. A graduate of Nottingham High School and Cornell University, she retired in 1989 after 40 years teaching English and reading at Porter, North High and Henninger in Syracuse, as well as teaching courses in speech at Syracuse University and Onondaga Community College. A life member of the National Education Association, she actively served the Syracuse Teachers' Association and New York State Teachers' Association. She enjoyed and supported local theater and opera. Survivors: Her husband, Paul E. Ried; sister, Carolyn I. Coit of Jamesville, NY; daughter, Leigh Smith of Dewitt; stepchildren, Barbara Johnson of Jordan, NY, Joanne Langenbach of Fort Madison, IA, John Ried of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Dylan Spencer, Matthew Johnson, Juliana Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, Andrew Langenbach, Heather Klesner; great-grandchildren, Marlee and Caeden Klesner; nieces and nephews. She was born September 11, 1921, and was the daughter of the late Norbert and Anna (Schaknoske) Paulus. Cecilia "Ceil" worked atseveral jobs, including Dey Brothers, Easy Washer, Fanny Farmer, G.E., and as a homemaker. She is the last of her six siblings to pass. She was predeceased by a daughter, Ann Kretschmann, in 2001. Survivors: her husband of 62 years, Clarence O. "Stoney" Stonesifer; two daughters, Jane Stonesifer of N.
