Burdick, 67, of Oswego, died Monday at Lee Memorial Hospital, Fulton. Born in Pulaski, he was a life resident of Oswego. Robert retired after 42 years as a machine operator at Nestle Co., Fulton. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Fulton. He was also a member of the Fulton Moose Lodge #1280 and the Oswego Elks Lodge #271. Robert was a Navy veteran serving from 1955 to 1963. She was born in Syracuse and was a graduate of St. Lucy's High School. Eleanor was a supervisor at NY Telephone for 38 years, retiring in 1985. She was a member of the NY Telephone Pioneers and loved to travel by cruise ship with her husband, visiting 33 ports of call. Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Joseph H. Ciotti; two sisters, Mary Dixon of Syracuse and Virginia Zerbinos of Phoenix; a cousin, Robert Roth of Syracuse; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Dukat, 91, of Westvale, died peacefully Sunday at Crouse Hospital with family by his side. Peter was a devoted father and grandfather and had a deep love of God, nature and animals. He retired in 1976 after 43 years with McMillan Book Company. For many years Pete lovingly cared for Marion, his wife of 49 years, who died in 1988. For most of his life he was a communicant of St. Cecilia's where he was an usher and member of the Holy Name Society. Peter was active with the Wagon Wheel Senior Center, belonged to the Moose Lodge, and was a volunteer with the Health Dept. doing work at home. Edwards, Rita Joan September 18, 2005 Rita Joan Edwards born on January 14, 1957 went to join her Creator on September 18, 2005 at her home after a long illness surrounded by her loving family. She was a member of the Onondaga Nation, EE1 Clan. Surviving are her daughters, Wanda and Janice Winder of the Onondaga Nation; her longtime companion, William Winder of Oneida Nation; one granddaughter, Breanna Dockstader; two grandsons, Devyn Hill and Kyler Potak; two sisters, Suzanne Halbritter of Vienna and Joyce Jocko of Onondaga Nation; eight brothers, John, Merritt, Peter, Dale, Albert, Christopher, Jake and Alvin Edwards, all of Onondaga Nation; 42 nieces and nephews; and 39 great-nieces and nephews. Haberlen, Richard September 18, 2005 Having been called by our lord and savior, Richard A. Haberlen peacefully went home on Sunday at Hamilton Community Memorial Hospital. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he lived in the Syracuse area since 1973. After graduating high school from Keshequay, Nunda New York (1950), he served in the Korean War with the United States Navy as an Aviation Ordnanceman. After honorably discharged, he earned his Masters Degrees from SUNY Geneseo and SUNY Oneonta. He began his successful career as Curator for the Roberson Museum in Binghamton, NY. He also served as an Assistant Director for the Museum of the City Of New York, Manhattan, NY. Prior to retirement he was a Historic Preservation Supervisor with the New York State Parks and Recreation, overseeing restoration projects for historical sites in 26 counties. His passion for history led to saving several sites to the National Registry for Historic Places, one such site is the Landmark Theatre, Syracuse, NY. After retirement he went on to be a Pastor for Pratt's Hollow and Stockbridge United Methodist Churches. He was an avid sportsman and photographer with a great appreciation of nature. He dedicated much of his free time to his communities, to name just a few, the Boy Scouts of America, Kiwanis Club, Yorker Club, Rotary Club, volunteer fire police and Chaplin for Smithfield Volunteer Fire Department. He was an advocate for numerous causes for the Native American communities. He is predeceased by his parents George and Olive Haberlen. Raised in Skaneateles, NY, before moving to the Galway and Schenectady areas where she lived for many years, she attended Emma Willard School in Troy, NY; Endicott Junior College in Beverly, MA; and Syracuse University. She was an office manager for Schwartz Family Dentistry in Schenectady for many years prior to moving to Myrtle Beach, SC. Gail is survived by her husband of 49 years, Frederick Daniel McKenzie of Myrtle Beach, SC. Way, 96, of Pompey, NY, died Sunday at home, surrounded by her family. She was born in Liverpool in 1909. She is the last survivor of eight children of the family of Albert and Catherine Yager of Liverpool. She was a member of the Pompey Community Church and of their Ladies Auxiliary for over 70 years. She also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Pompey Fire Department since it's founding in 1946.
