He resided in 1800 in Whitestown, Oneida Co., NY, and in Pompey, Onondaga Co., NY, in 1810. He purchased about 300 acres of land in Pompey, and owned property in lots 22, 23, 32 and 33. He was a teacher. He signed a will on 22 Jun 1831 in Pompey, which was proved on 1 Aug 1831. He died in Pompey on 27 Jun 1831. He was buried in Bethel Cemetery, Madison Co., NY. He was married to Hannah JOHNSON before 1770. Hannah JOHNSON was born in 1746 in Litchfield or Newington, CT. She died on 28 Jun 1830 in Pompey. She was buried in Bethel Cemetery. Last Will and Testament of Thomas Winthrop Lewis [transcribed by Kimberly (Thompson) Branagan], on file at the Onondaga County Surrogate's Court, Syracuse, New York, Book E, pp. 134-8: I Thomas W. Lewis of the town of Pompey in the County of Onondaga and State of New York being of sound mind and memory yet sensible of the uncertainty of human life do make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say I give and bequeath to my Grandson Ezra Ensworth fifty Dollars. I give and bequeath to my grand Daughter Flora Ensworth the wife of B. Pierce the sum of fifty Dollars. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Polly Coburn the sum of one hundred and fifty Dollars. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Electy B. Morgan the sum of one hundred Dollars. I give to my daughter Polly Coburn two Beads and Beadsteds and covering to be equal in quallity with the others that I shall will my other Daughters. Likewise I give my daughter Polly one Brown cow to be delivered by the first of November if living. Also I give to Polly Coburn her equal half of my chairs with the others named in my will. I give to my grandson William R. Lewis son of Thomas J. Lewis my undivided half of my village Lot in Cazenovia. I give to my daughter Polly Coburn and Electy B. Morgan the clothing of my deceased wife to be equally divided between the two. I give one Bead and Beading to my Daughter Electy B. Morgan. I give to my daughter Electy the other half of my chairs. I give to my granddaughter Susannah Ensworth one bead and covering. I give to my grand daughter Nancy Newkirk one Bead and Beading. I give to my two Daughters Polly and Electy my two tables and two stands and my crockery and knifs and fork to be equally divided. I thairfor order the Rest of my personal property Sold and the money Equally Divided Between my seven heirs within an year from the date hear of. Wm. R. Lewis and Benjamin D. Lewis whom I hereby appoint sole Executrix of this my last will and Testament hearby Revoking and annulling all former Wills, testaments and devises by me made and further more i Reserve out of the money that may arise out of my personal property one hundred Dollars to be applied for the purpose of building a Valt.
