The submittor has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ************************************************************************ TO THE SURROGATE'S COURT OF THE COUNTY OF ONTARIO THE PETITION of Levi Coykendall of the Town of the Town of Canadice on the County of Ontario respectfully shows: That Joel Coykendall of the Town of Canadice in said County of Ontario, died in the said Town of Canadice on or about the 15th day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five; that at the time of his death he was a resident of the County of Ontario; that he left no will as far as your petitioner has heard, or been able to discover after diligent search and inquiry therefor; that the decedent died possessed of certain personal property within this State, the value of which, together with the probable amount to be recovered, by reason of any right of action granted to an executor or administrator by special provision of law does not exceed in value the sum of three hundred and fifty dollars; and his real property does not exceed in value the sum of six thousand dollars. That the only next of kin of said decedent and their respective places of residence are as follows: 1. Levi Coykendall, son, residing at Canadice, New York 2. Leah Hoppough, daughter, residing at Canadice, New York 3. Rebecca Hartson. daughter, residing at Canadice, New York 4. Hannah Winfield, daughter, residing at Jackson County, Michigan 5. Harvey Coykendall, son, residing at Jackson County, Michigan 6. Mary A. Hoppough, daughter, residing at Henrietta, Monroe County, New York That the said decedent left no wife and that all of the heirs at law are of full age. WHEREFORE, your petitioner prays for a decree awarding Letters of Administration upon the goods, chattels and credits of said decedent to your petitioner; and that a citation may be issued to all personas having a right to administration, prior to or equal to that of your petitioner, to show cause why such a decree should not be made.
