To all whom these presents shall come or may concern send Greeting. Know ye that at the town of Canandaigua in the County of Ontario on the twenty eighth day of April one thousand eight hundred and ten, before Eliphalet Tayler Esquire Surrogate of our said county. The Last Will and Testament of William Antis deceased (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed) was found and is now approved and allowed of by us; and the said deceased having whilst he lived and at the time of his death goods, chattels or credits within this state by means whereof the proving and registering the said will and the granting administration of all and singular the said goods, chattels and credits and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the account thereof doth belong unto us; the administration of all and singular the goods, chattels and credits of the said deceased and any way concerning his Will is granted unto William Antis and John Schuler Executors in the said Will named they being first duly sworn will and faithfully to administer the same and to make and exhibit a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said goods, chattels and credits and also to render a right true amount thereof when thereunto required. In testimony whereof we have caused the seal of office of our said Surrogate to be hereunto affixed. WITNESS Eliphalet Tayler Esquire Surrogate of the said county at the town of Canandaigua aforesaid the twenty eighth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten and of our independence the thirty fourth year. Eliphalet Tayler In the name of god amen. I, William Antis of Canandaigua in the County of Ontario and State of New York of a sound and discerning mind and memory, do make and ordain this my last will and testament. I resign my soul to God who gave it hoping for a blessed immortality through the merits of Jesus Christ and I order and direct my executors herein after mentioned at my decease to cause my body to be decently buried. The real and personal estate that I now possess, I give bequeath devise and dispose of in the following manner. To William Antis my dear and only son I give and devise Lot number four situate and lying in Canandaigua west of Main street and south of the square being the same lot on which I now live and was conveyed to me by Oliver Phelps by deed bearing date the 28th day of July A.D. 1794, together with all the buildings standing thereon. I do also give and bequeath to the said William all my implements, tools, and utensils of every name, nature or description belonging to or in any wise appertaining to the mystery or art of a Gun Smith or Blacksmith, also all my personal wearing apparel; also the one thirds of two thirds of the residue of my personal estate that shall remain after all my just and lawful debts are paid. To my daughter Betsey Shuler wife of John Shuler I give and bequeath the one third of two thirds of my personal estate after my just and lawful debts are paid reserving and excepting what has heretofore been disposed of. To my daughter Christina Markley wife of Jacob Markley I give and devise the one third part of Lot number six in township number ten in the second range of townships in the county of Ontario, to be taken out of the middle of said lot east and west bounded east and west on the lines of said lot, south on a part of said lot lately devised by me to John Shuler and Betsey Shuler and north on a part of said lot hereafter to be given to Sally Gardner. I do also give and bequeath to the said Christina the one third of two thirds of my personal estate after my just and lawful debts are paid reserving and excepting what has heretofore been disposed of. To my daughter Sally Gardener, wife of Samuel Gardner I give and devise the one third part of Lot number six in township number ten in the second range of townships in the county of Ontario, to be taken off the north side (?) of said lot Bounded north east and west one the lines of said lot and south on land heretofore given to Christina Markley. I do also give and bequeath to the said Sally the one third part of my personal estate after my just and lawful debts are paid excepting and reserving what has heretofore given to my son William Antis. I do order and direct my executers herein after appointed to do or cause to be done every act that may be necessary to carry this my last will and testament into full and final effect within one year from my decease. Lastly ~ I do hereby appoint my son William Antis and John Shuler executors to this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made ~ in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five ~ N. Be it remembered, that heretofore, to wit, on the twenty eight day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten personally appeared before Eliphalet Tayler Esquire surrogate of the County of Ontario James Smedley who being duly sworn did depose and say that he the deponent saw William Antis late of the County of Ontario deceased sign & seal the written instrument then shown unto him of which the foregoing is a true copy purporting to be the last Will and Testament of the said William Antis deceased bearing date the twenty sixth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five, that at the time thereof the said William Antis was of a sound disposing mind & memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of him the deponent and that he the deponent and Dudley Saltonstall and Moses Atwater subscribed their names as witnesses to the said will in the presence of each other and in the presence of the Testor.
