The marriage took place in St Andrews Church in Fishkill Landing, the Rev George Green officiating. The ceremony took place at about 5:30 o'clock, immediately following the conclusion of the baseball game. John H Hagar of Highland Falls acted as best man. The bridesmaid was Miss Lillian Greatorex of Highland Falls a sister of the groom. The ceremony was witnessed by a large number of people, some being present out of curiosity. The ball game was between the Riverside Athletic Club of the down river village and the Main Street Social Club of Fishkill Landing. Greatorex played in the position of catcher. The prospective bride followed the game with great interest, cheering the Highland Falls players. The contest was won by the Fishkill team by 3 to 2. Additional Comments: Luella also spelt Louella. John C Greatorex died in 1919, Louella subsequently married a Willima Lewis. However on the 1930 US Census and at her death in 1942 her husband is identified as Clarence Lewis. Believed to have had 3 children with John C Greatorex, one (Carl) died in 1918. The other 2 I have no knowledge of. Report of this event also noted in the News of the Highlands dated 7th Aug 1909.
