News of the Highlands - 16th March 1901

Florence A Gretore (Greatorex) aged 16 years, the second eldest daughter of Mr 
and Mrs George Greatore, died at the residence of her parents on Prospect Hill 
on Thursday morning at 8 o'clock, from an attack of pneumonia, which has been 
so prevalent and fatal in this vicinity during the past few weeks. The 
unfortunate girl became ill last week with a severe cold. The grip followed, 
pneumonia developed and finally terminated the young life. Florence was a 
lovely girl and an agreeable companion in a large circle of young associates. 
Prior to her last illness, only a littl more than a week ago, she was in the 
enjoyment of perfect health, and her premature death has caused a feeling of 
gloom in the neighborhood where she resided. The funeral will take place from 
the Church of the Holy Innocents at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Interment will
be in Peacedale.

Additional Comments:
Dau of George and Mary Ellen Greatorex who emigrated from Sheffield, England
in the mid 1880's. One of 10 children, mostly born in the USA.
