Oct 29th 1910 George Greatorex, 54 years old, a well known resident of this village, died suddenly Monday morning in his room at "Sweezy barracks", from heart failure. The deacesed had been feeling badly for more than a week but no serious consequences were imagined. He was employed on the West Shore railroad and was of a pleasing disposition. He inherited from a relative in England last year a legacy of $2,000. Mrs Greatorex died six years ago. Six children survive the parents. Funeral servoces were conducted at the house Wednesday afternoon and internment was in Peacedale. Rev Wm R Thomas officiated. The village fife and drum corps and details from the fire department, in uniform, attended the funeral in a body. The children of the deceased wish to thank the drum corps, the firemen and the Riverside Club for the beautiful floral offerings and to the neighbors and friends generally for their kindness and expressions of sympathy. Additional Comments: Surviving children named, Lavinia, George William, Joseph Walter, John Charles, Laura, Elizabeth and Sarah Lillian. nb: George William remained in England where he was born being brought up by his paternal Grandparents. The American raised children married into the Regan, Conklin, Baxter, Stickler, Mulvahill and Volkringer families.
