Frederick A Lamb a resident of Cornwall on Hudson for over sixty years passed away on Tuesday morning in his seventy ninth year.Mr lamb enlisted during the Civil war in June 1861 when only nineteen years of age in Co.H,36th N.Y.V.He was discharged on July 15,1863.His second enlistment on January 16,1864 was in Co.T 63rd N.Y.V for three years or during the war.He was discharged on June 30,1865 near Alexandria at the close of the war.He was captured at the Battle of Deep Bottom,August 15,1864 and was in Libby Prison and Belle Isle being sent to Annapolis Hospital some time in October. Mr.Lamb is survived by five daughters: Miss Margaret H.Lamb and Miss Ida B.Lamb of Cornwall on Hudson,Mrs Frank Connelly of Saybrook,Conn. Mrs Charles Dixon of Englewood,NJ. and Miss Emma Lamb of Brooklyn,NY and by one son Charles Lamb of Chicago.He leaves four grandchildren,one brother George Lamb of Cornwall on Hudson and one sister Mrs Charles Price of Custer,N.D. Funeral services will be held from his late residence on Avenue A this evening at 8 o'clock to which all his friends and acquaintances are invited.Interment will be in Machpelah Cemetery,New Durham,N.J.tomorrow. Mr Lamb was a member of Emelie Post 546 G.A.R and was interested in everything pertaining to the Post,rarely missing any of the encampments.A quiet unassuming citizen always cheerful with a kind word for everyone,He was a familiar figure on our streets,his favorite resting place being the Engine house having joined the fire company many years ago.
