Gregory W. Clark, a lifelong Monticello resident and self-employed landscaper, passed away on Saturday April 2, 2005 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris. He was 45. He was the son of Arthur Clark and Evelyn Brown and was born on October 27, 1959 in Monticello, N.Y. He was a member of Monticello Elks Lodge #1544. Survivors include his mother, Evelyn Jamieson of Grahamsville; his father, Arthur Clark of Bridgeville; his wife, Lisa Clark, at home; a sister, Ellen Petrowsky and her husband, Al, of Grahamsville; a stepsister, Tiffani Pettula and her husband, Gregg, of Bridgeville; and several nieces and nephews. Dagen, 93, of East Greenbush and formerly of Watervliet, died Saturday April 2, 2005, at Evergreen Commons after a long illness. He was the widower of Gertrude Dagen. Born and educated in Watervliet, he was the son of the late John and Sarah Dagen. Mr. Dagen lived in Latham for several years, returning to Watervliet in 1947 and residing there until his move to Troy in 1995. Mr. Dagen was employed as a mason with the Lennon's Construction Company, Watervliet, and Harrington & Dagen Masonry, later working out of the local union for Sweet Construction of Schenectady. He was a member for over 50 years of the Troy Salvation Army Temple and League of Mercy secretary. He was also a member of the Bricklayers & Allied Craftsmen, Local #2 in Albany. Survivors include two daughters, Helen Dagen Corina, his caregiver for the past 25 years, of Watervliet, and Lillian (Richard) Dumond of Middletown; a son, Maj. Raymond D. (Norma) Dagen, Salvation Army Ret., of New Port Richey, Fla.; a sister, Sarah Sponton of Tampa, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. De Puy, a lifelong resident of the Town of Newburgh, entered into rest on Friday April 1, 2005 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. He was 82. The son of the late Harold and Jennie Horne De Puy, he was born February 25, 1923 in Gardiner, N.Y. Donald was retired from the U.S. Military Band at West Point. He also retired as the head of security at the Newburgh Free Library. He was a member of the Retired-Enlisted Association, a military service organization; a lifelong member of the American Federation of Musicians Local #238-291, in Poughkeepsie; a past president of the Newburgh Volunteer Ambulance Corps in the City of Newburgh; a deacon and member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in Vails Gate; a member of the Golden Songsters, a visiting group who entertained senior citizens in many area facilities; the Hudson Valley Ramblers, a band who participated in numerous local parades; and member of the Frank Spies Trio, who entertain area residents. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Lillian Ingram Rasmussen De Puy, at home; four children: Christopher De Puy and his wife, Debbie, of Upper Montclair, N.J., Mary Annan and her husband, Gene, of Cornwall, David De Puy and his wife, Carol, of Glen Allen, Va., and Dylan De Puy of the Town of Newburgh; three stepchildren: Claire (Skip) Rasmussen and his wife, Patricia, of Alamagordo, N.M., Linda Lewis and her husband, Larry, of Euless, Texas, and Doug Rasmussen and his wife, Carolyn, of the Town of Newburgh. He is also survived by his former wife, Catharine De Puy of Cornwall. Fossella, of Newburgh, a former retired secretary for Ferguson Adjusters in Newburgh and lifetime area resident, entered into rest Saturday April 2, 2005, at home. She was 82. Daughter of the late Achille and Caterina Andriano Arene, she was born January 17, 1923 in Newburgh. She was married to the late Salvatore Fossella. Carmela attended Newburgh schools and was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, Class of '41. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and former member of the Sacred Heart League. Carm was a caring person who always opened her heart and home to everyone. She will be dearly missed. Survivors include her children: Maria C. Dyseven of New Windsor, Joseph V. Fossella of New York City and East Hampton, Long Island, and Catherine Fossella of Newburgh; her grandson, Alexander J. Nieves III, Miguel Angel Miguel Angel Nieves, formerly from Ellenville, N.Y. and residing in Tulsa, Okla. for the last six years, passed away on March 31, 2005 in a fatal car accident in Lebanon, Mo. He was 20 years old. The son of Maria Oquendo-Laing and Miguel Angel Nieves, he was born November 4, 1984 in Monticello, N.Y. Mikey was involved in a skateboarding youth ministry in Tulsa and he lived his life as an evangelist of Jesus Christ. His passion was music and art as well as his time spent with God. His last act of evangelism was when he led his three cousins to accepting a personal relationship with Jesus Christ on Monday March 27th. Miguel has touched the hearts of so many people all around the world and will be greatly missed. Sakellson, 79, retired priest of Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in Newburgh, N.Y., died Sunday April 3, 2005. Father Philip Sakellson was born December 25, 1925, Christmas Day, in Lynn, Mass. He graduated from the Holy Cross Theological Seminary in Brookline, Mass. in 1949 and further studied Theology abroad in Athens, Greece and Chalki (Constantinople, Istanbul, Turkey). He was ordained a priest in 1952 and elevated to Archimandrite in 1982. His first parish was in Fall River, Mass., where he was instrumental in building a new church for the community. He also served the Greek Orthodox Communities of Nashua, N.H. and Quincy, Mass. During his thirty years of tenure in the Newburgh area, Father Philip's ministry extended to Middletown, Beacon, and St. Basil's Academy in Garrison, N.Y., among others. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Agnes Marinakis, and is survived by his children: Stanley and Vicky Sakellson of Scarsdale, N.Y., Barbara and Fred Gableman and their three children: Philip, Paul and Greta, of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; and his sister, Sophie Kaivas of Lynn, Mass.
