Hospital, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. She was 77. The daughter of the late Samuel Kaminsky and Josephine Weiner, she was born April 16, 1927 in Newburgh, N.Y. Shirley is survived by four sons: Joseph, Jr. and wife, Debbie, of Wisconsin, Stephen and wife, Gayle, of Milton, N.Y., John and wife, Donna, of Newburgh, and Doug and wife, Rachel, of Poughkeepsie; two sisters, Harriet Calli of Newburgh, and Joan Cornell and husband, Frank, of Louisiana; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Calli on January, 1987. There will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery on Tuesday April 12, 2005 at 10:30 AM with Pastor David Ballou officiating, with burial to follow. Daughter of the late Francesco and Angelina Cardinale Monteleone, she was born August 11, 1930 in Sicily, Italy. She was married to the late Filippo Cullaro, who predeceased her in 2002. Rosalia was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and a member of Club 60. Survivors include her daughter, Angela LaDuca, of Newburgh; three brothers, Guiseppe, Vincent and Angelo Monteleone; grandchildren, Domenic and Philip Giafaglione and Nicholas and Philip LaDuca; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Distel, Dorothy May Dorothy May Distel, a homemaker and lifelong Middletown resident, died on Sunday April 10, 2005 at Ferncliff Nursing Home. She was 85 years old. The daughter of the late Harold and Hattie Mae Kniffin Smith, she was born January 27, 1920 in Middletown. She married Edwin J. Distel in Middletown on September 3, 1955 and they had two daughters. Dorothy lived for others. In her lifetime she worked as a beautician, a sewing instructor for Singer Sewing Machine Co.; cared for patients as a nurse's aide, and served the Middletown School District as a teacher's aide for 28 years. She was also a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Middletown. After retiring, she volunteered her time at Horton Hospital. Even as a resident in the nursing home, Dottie still tried to pitch in as long as she could. We'll remember her for her love of children, her care for animals, an avid gardener, and a great mom. She brought much joy to our world. She is survived by her loving daughters, Denise M. Distel of Marlboro, and Dorothy L. Distel of Rhinebeck; two grandsons, Edward Ettinger and his wife, Diana, of Rocky Hill, Conn., and David Ettinger of Marlboro. Dottie was predeceased by her husband, Ed, and her son Dennis James. On September 15, 1946, she married Walter Gorton at North Congregational Church in Middletown. A family statement reads, "Mom enjoyed traveling. Of the many places she visited, her favorites were Northern Italy and England. She was an avid reader, our favorite chef, and was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren." Linehart, a longtime resident of New Windsor, died Saturday April 9, 2005 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. He was 90. The son of Joseph W. and Antoinette Drubek Linehart, he was born July 17, 1914 in New York City, N.Y. Harry was a World War II veteran. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the Middle East. He retired from civil service at West Point in 1979 and worked in the U.S.M.A. Museum for 23 years. He is survived by one brother, Joseph Linehart and his wife, Virginia, of Walden; and nieces and nephews. Harry was loved by many. A man who valued his family was more than a husband, dad, grandpa, father-in-law, brother or cousin. He was your best friend, and those that are his friends were family. Frank loved the outdoors, enjoying all that it offered with countless memories of camping and fishing. He possessed a god given ability to encourage and council all that came to him. Having received Jesus Christ as his lord and savior, he displayed a genuine faith in God, leaving us with confidence. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, for he knew whom he believed in and was persuaded that God is able to keep that which was committed unto Him against that day. Pugh passed away on Friday, April 8, 2005 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 78. Phyllis was born on March 29, 1927 in Albany, NY to the late Peter Marinus Anderson and Edna Marie Danielson. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Howard E. Pugh and two brothers, Dean and Dale Anderson. Phyllis was a devoted wife and mother whose greatest joy was her family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many capacities throughout her life. Most recently, she led the music in the Women's Relief Society, which she did for the last time on Easter Sunday. In her last five years, Phyllis coped with the devastating effects of a stroke and the loss of a limb with amazing courage and determination and with a heart filled with gratitude for her many blessings. Her cheerful optimism and sweet smile were an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Santacroce, Catherine "Caye" Catherine "Caye" Santacroce, a lifelong resident of Newburgh, entered into rest on Saturday, April 9, 2005 in Fishkill Health Related Center. She was 97. The daughter of the late Vincenzo and Angela DiBenio Mastrota, she was born December 26, 1907 in Chicago, Illinois. She married Armand Santacroce on February 15, 1931 in Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh, who predeceased her in 1952. Caye was a graduate of Broadway School in Newburgh and the Robischaun Business School. She was a secretary for John J. Lease Real Estate for 40 years until her retirement in 1995 at the age of 87. She was also a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh. A family statement reads, "Caye was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched." Survivors include her daughter Lorraine Santacroce with whom she resided with in Newburgh; her son Vincent Santacroce and his wife Leona of Newburgh; her grandchildren, Toni Piorro of Winter Park, FL, Robin Oster of Tampa, FL; her special great-grandchild Amanda Gilleo; her great-grandchildren, Jenna and Logan Oster, Kayli and Jesse Piorro; her sister-in-law, Rose (Santacroce) Smith of Cornwall and several nieces and nephews. Caye was predeceased by her brothers, Frank and Larry Mastrota, her sisters, Rose Mastrota and Mary McFarland and her loving and caring friend Jean Finnegan. The family wishes to thank Kathleen Ostrander, Barbara Nucifore and Denise Fairweather for all the special care given to our mother in her time of need. Mrs. Wendel was a member of the Tuesday Night Bowling League and a 1976 graduate of NFA High School, Newburgh. Survivors include her husband, William C. Yodice of Montgomery, died Saturday April 9, 2005 at Calvary Hospital, Bronx, N.Y. She was 72. Rita was born in the Bronx on November 22, 1932, the daughter of Nicola and Jennie (Narciso) Gentile. She had been employed for many years as a manager for Nynex in White Plains. Rita is survived by her children, Deborah Achilli of Scarsdale, and Carmine Yodice of Cold Spring; three sisters: Anna Giuliano of Montgomery, Bernice Gentile and Dolores Fratangelo, both of Florida, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Rachel and Rebecca Yodice; and many nieces and nephews.
