The daughter of the late Hipolito Jimenez and the late Antonia Medina Jimenez, she was born February 9, 1947 in Dagupan City, Philippines. She was married to Thomas Bertolini. A family statement reads: "Densy Jimenez Bertolini lived a fulfilling life as a mother, wife and grandmother. She was crowned Miss Dagupan (Philippines) during her teens. She received a college degree in Commerce. With her appreciation of the Arts; she was a fashion designer, a pianist, art collector, and an antique enthusiast. Densy ventured into the business world by becoming a real estate agent and owner of a clothing shop and an antique store." Buckley Jr., Anthony John Anthony John Buckley Jr., 44, of Pine Bush, passed away April 17, 2005 in a tragic accident in the Town of Crawford, NY. He was the owner of the Thompson Ridge Nursery, Thompson Ridge Transport. Born on October 17, 1960 in Westwood, N.J. He is the son of Anthony Buckley Sr. and Joan Link Buckley. Survivors include his loving parents Tony and Joan from Southport, NC; he was the loving husband Francine Rongo Buckley and beloved father of Anthony J. Buckley III. He is survived by a sister, Alison Lysne of Washington State, brother Michael Buckley and Barbara of Yankee Lake, brother Jeff Buckley of Pine Bush and brother, Jon Buckley of Goshen, NY, also several nieces and nephews. Conroy, 84, of 1106 Mountain Road, Myerstown, PA, died Saturday, April 16, 2005 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon, PA. She was the wife of the late Lt. Col. William R. Conroy, who died November 13, 1977. Born January 29, 1921 in Cabot, PA, she was the daughter of the late Nathan W. and Edna J. Buchanan Moser. She was a 1938 graduate of Winfield Twp High School and a 1945 graduate of Univ. of Pittsburgh Nursing School. She had been a nurse in the army from 1945 to 1949 where she received the Victory Medal. She was a member of the Mt. Aetna Bible Church, Mt. Aetna, PA and the National Republican Party. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and bird watching. She was an avid dog lover, especially German Shepherds. Survivors include three sons: William R. She was born on October 15, 1942, the daughter of the late Cliff and Ann Real of Chicago, IL. On April 8, 1962, she married Robert Joseph Elmendorf of Poughkeepsie who predeceased her in 2000. Gibbs, a lifelong area resident, died unexpectantly on Friday April 15, 2005. He was 20 years old. The son of Vaughn and Patricia MacGregor Gibbs, Timothy was born April 26, 1984 in Middletown. Timothy was a 2002 graduate of Pine Bush High School, where he was a star basketball player, and also played for C.Y.O and A.A.U. He was a self-employed contractor in Burlingham. Timothy enjoyed working on his Hondas and the Friday night car shows, but especially enjoyed spending time with his daughter. Published in the Times Herald-Record on 4/19/2005. McDonald, Sister Mary Francis Sister Mary Francis McDonald, died Sunday, April 17, 2005 in Saint Luke-Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. She was born in Beacon, NY, the daughter of the late Francis John and Mary Agnes McGrath McDonald. Sister received her elementary education in Saint Mary School, Poughkeepsie, NY and graduated with the highest honors from Mount Saint Mary Academy, Newburgh. Shortly after, she entered the novitiate of the Dominican Sisters of Newburgh. In June 1938 she received the habit, pronounced her first vows in 1939 and was admitted to final profession in August 1945. After three years attending Mount Saint Mary Normal and Training School, she attended the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. From this institution she received the B.A. degree in 1946, the M.A. degree in 1947 and the Ph.D. degree in 1950 with concentrations in Latin- Patristics, Greek and History. Later she attended post-doctoral studies in history, theology and education at Catholic University, Vanderbilt University, University of Scranton, Fordham University, a study tour in Israel in 1972 under the sponsorship of Seton Hall University, 1973 Dominican Congress on Mission, Madrid Spain, Union Theological Seminary, New York City and Tantur Ecumencial Institute of Theology in Jerusalem. Sister Mary Francis made great contributions to education at all levels- elementary school through university. From 1941 through 1964 she taught as an elementary school teacher at the Casa San Jose, Newburgh; secondary school teacher at Mount Saint Mary Academy; Instructor and Professor of Classics and History at Mount Saint Mary College: summer school faculty member, department of Greek and Latin, Catholic University and Dean of Student at Mount Saint Mary College. From 1965 to 1971 she served as president of Mount Saint Mary College as well as being an Executive Councilor of the Dominican Sisters of Newburgh. In 1971 her educational ministry was interrupted when she was elected Superior General of the Dominican Sisters of Newburgh. In 1979 through 1987 at the conclusion of her second term as Major Superior she resumed her teaching career as a professor of Church History at Maryknoll School of Theology where she was Academic Dean from 1981 to 1984. From 1987 to 1989 sister was a member of the Project OPUS (Order of Preachers of the United States- research on the life of the Dominican Order in the U.S.) From 1989 to 1994 she was an adjunct Associate Professor in Religious Studies at Providence College, Rhode Island. In addition to the above, she received an Honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters from Mount Saint Mary College, Newburgh; was Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, Mount Saint Mary College; was an adjunct Professor at the Immaculate Conception Seminary, Mahwah, NJ; a member of the Advisory Board, Spiritual Life Center, New Hyde Park, NY; chairperson of the Dominican Leadership Conference; was elected to the Phi Alpha Theta, the International Honor Society in History; served on the Archdiocesan Council of Religious Women and several other Archdiocesan committees as well as numerous Educational Committees throughout the country. The following publications were written or translated by Sister Mary Francis: Saint Augustine's "Faith in Things Unseen"- A Critical text with Translation and Commentary. (CUA Press- 1950). In addition, Sister has given numerous lectures throughout the country concerning such topics as History, the Classics, Education and Spirituality in Religious Congregations. Sister is survived by one brother, William McDonald of Poughkeepsie, NY and two sisters, Sister Mary Aquin, OP of Westville, NJ and Helen McDonald of Poughkeepsie, a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ellie McDonald of Bueno Park, CA. She was predeceased by three brothers, Rev. Thomas McDonald, Francis and Walter and one sister, Catherine McDonald. Nelson, a homemaker and a longtime area resident, died on Sunday, April 17, 2005 at Westchester Medical Center. She was 93. She was born to the late John and Magdalena Meneckay Bennett on November 11, 1911 in Newburgh. She was the widow of Clarence Nelson whom predeceased her in 1983. Anne is survived by one brother, Harry J. Charles "Charlie" Presto Jr., presently of Titusville, Pa. and a lifelong resident of Matamoras, Pa., a retired lineman for GTE, Port Jervis, a retired salesman for TSE Plumbing, Port Jervis and Cooper's Dairy, Port Jervis, and the Flo-Jean Restaurant, Port Jervis, died Friday April 15, 2005 at Pittsburgh V.A. Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pa. He was 69. The son of the late Charles J. Presto and Minnie Scheels Presto, he was born May 26, 1935 in Port Jervis, N.Y. He was married to Catherine "Kay" Caliciotti Presto. He was a member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Matamoras, Pa.; a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Korean War, serving from 1954 to 1957, specializing in heating certification. He was actively involved with the Pop Warner Football League. He sang with the St. Mary's and Port Jervis Barber Shop Choir, and he also appeared on the Artist's Guild Show, singing many Italian songs. He had a love for music, especially country, enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling and cooking. His love for his children and grandchildren were never unnoticed. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Sulyma and husband David of Chester, NY; son, Robert Walker and his wife, Lisa of Virginia Beach, VA and grandsons, Andrew Walker and Ethan Walker of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Leslie Walker of Roseburg, Oregon and grandson, Michael Walker of Albany, also her pets, Corky, Murray, Trevor and Willie.
