Mr. Louis B. Calli, age 86 years, of Inverness, Fla., passed away Friday April 22, 2005, in Inverness. He was born June 14, 1918 in Milton, N.Y., to Frank and Irene Coleone Calli, and moved to Inverness 20 years ago from Brooksville, Fla. Mr. Calli was a member of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, Inverness, Fla.; American Legion Post #77, Inverness, Fla.; a World War II veteran; and retired as Branch Manager for Coca Cola Bottling Company of New York after 38 years of service. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Mrs. Eva Taylor Calli, at home; and several nieces and nephews, including Mrs. Sue Guth of Inverness, Fla., and Mr. Thomas Calli of Newburgh, N.Y. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday April 25, 2005 at the Inverness Chapel of Hooper Funeral Homes, Inverness, Fla., with Father Gene Reuman officiating. Cialdella, 57, formerly a resident of Goshen, died peacefully at home in Manchester, N.J. on Saturday April 23, 2005, surrounded by her loving family and friends after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Born and raised in Brooklyn, Marie moved to Goshen soon after marrying her beloved husband, Joseph, in 1970. During her many happy years in Goshen, she worked as a bacteriologist at Arden Hill Hospital, raised her two dear children, Michael and Christine, and later worked as a science teacher at Goshen High School, where she was adored by faculty and students alike. She and her family were actively involved in St. John's Parish and School, also in Goshen. In 1995, Marie and family moved to Freehold, N.J., where she continued her career as a teacher, again demonstrating her remarkable ability to connect with even the most challenging students. In 2001 Marie and Joseph relocated to Renaissance Community in Manchester, where Marie was a member of the Red Hats and Retired Educators' Club, and enjoyed performing with a variety of vocal and dance groups, including the Gems, Antiques and Renaissance Chorus. While living in Manchester, she was a communicant of St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church in Toms River, and was a member of their parish council. Marie is survived by her husband, Joseph; her son, Michael of Los Angeles, Calif.; her daughter, Christine of Staten Island, N.Y.; her mother, Mary Catalano of Toms River; and her sister, Judy Auteri and family of Staten Island, N.Y. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday April 26, 2005 at the Silverton Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd., Toms River, N.J. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke's Church in Toms River at 9:15 AM on Wednesday, April 27. Entombment will be at the Risen Christ Mausoleum at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Toms River, N.J. Cocchia, Emma Emma Cocchia of New Windsor, a former seamstress and longtime area resident, entered into rest Saturday April 23, 2005, at home. She was 92. Daughter of the late Nichola and Marie Conti Rostanzo, she was born April 8, 1913 in Acri, Italy. She was married to the late Joseph A. Cocchia, who predeceased her in 2001. Emma dedicated her life and was a faithful parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, where she was named Woman of the Year by the Holy Name Society. She was a member of the Rosary Society and a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Patricia #195, and Sacred Heart League, was a Bingo Organizer, Italian Festival Zepoli Organizer, and aided with numerous other community functions. Emma was recently honored by Cardinal Egan at St. Patrick's Cathedral on Palm Sunday for her dedication and artistic service for providing detailed palm crosses that adorn the churches throughout the archdiocese. Her family will remember her as a pillar of their family, who always put others before herself. She loved everyone in her family as everyone in her family loved her. We will all miss her, but know she is with God and her family. She will never be forgotten. Survivors include her sons, Salvatore Cocchia and his wife, Salvatrice, and Nicholas Cocchia and his wife, Beverly, all of New Windsor; her brother, Anthony Rostanzo of Indiana; her sister, Edith Rostanzo of Newburgh; three grandchildren: Joanne Longo of New Windsor, Nicholas Cocchia, Jr. of Texas, and Karen Stafford of Hopewell Junction; six great-grandchildren: Gina and Mia Longo of New Windsor, Joseph and Samuel Cocchia of Texas, and Anthony and Mark Stafford of Hopewell Junction; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Louis and Angelo Rostanzo, and her grandson, Mark Cocchia. "Jax" David "Jax" W. Jackson, age 63, of Middletown, died Monday April 18, 2005. He leaves behind his loving wife, Lori (nee Brahs) of Middletown; his son, David and family of Clovis, N.M.; his step-daughter, Lari Ann Clark and family of Clovis, N.M.; his step-daughter, Andrea Czerwinski and family of Merritt Island, Fla.; his step-son, Matthew Clark and family of Harrisonville, Va.; and his sister, Marilyn Servay and family of Hopewell Junction, N.Y. Mr. Jackson was predeceased by his father David; his mother, Marjorie (nee Siems); and his brother, Richard. David Jackson was born and raised in Mount Vernon, N.Y. He attended Edison High School and graduated in the Class of 1959. He enlisted in the Army in 1960, completed MP training and was assigned overseas. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1964. He began employment with the United States Government as a civilian employee in 1965 and was again assigned overseas. He obtained his BA Degree from the University of Maryland at Tachikawa Air Base in 1971. He returned to the United States in 1972, resigned from the government and after a short hiatus, began a new career in the insurance industry. Mr. Jackson completed sufficient courses with the American Education Institute to qualify for lettering as a Workers Compensation Claims Law Associate. He also carried a New York State Adjuster's License. He began his career as a claims adjuster in 1973 with Travelers Insurance Company, working initially in Florida and then in Falls Church, Va. He left Travelers in 1989 and began employment with Crawford and Company in Clovis, N.M. He left Crawford and Company in 1993 and began employment with Frontier Insurance Company, where he worked until June, 2003. His last place of employment was with the CRM Claims Department in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Mr. Jackson remained in the claims industry throughout his career. Mr. Jackson enjoyed life and enjoyed living life. He will be remembered for his dry wit and candid, almost terse responses to questions asked of him. His attitude was simply; if you don't like the answer, don't ask the question. He will be missed. A statement from his wife, Lori: "You are my heart, my soul, my life; I love you, Dave." Melvin Sr., Cornelius Jeffrey Cornelius Jeffrey Melvin Sr., of Newburgh, died Wednesday April 20, 2005 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus, Newburgh, NY. He was 39. The son of Lola Owens Melvin McDoe and the late CJ Melvin, he was born October 24, 1965 in Newburgh. He worked maintenance at Newburgh Jewish Community Center in Newburgh; was a member of Mt. Carmel Church of Christ Disciples of Christ; and was also a member of the NAACP. Survivors include his wife, June Dorsey; loving mother, Lola Owens Melvin McDoe; two sons, Cornelius Jeffrey Melvin Jr. and Christopher James Melvin; one godson, Joseph Sedrick; two daughters, Cecilia Jasmine Melvin and Corina Jade Melvin; and one goddaughter, Katia Peters, all of Newburgh; three brothers, Robert Grable, of Newburgh, Keith Robinson of Charlotte, N.C. and Rodney Melvin of Fayetteville, N.C.; one sister, Leticia Melvin McCombs and husband, Fernell, of Maybrook; one grandchild, Cyncere Melvin; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Molusky, Donald Edward "Chub" Donald Edward "Chub" Molusky, of Callicoon, former owner of the Autumn Inn in Callicoon, and a lifetime area resident, died Friday April 22, 2005, at home. He was 79. The son of the late George F. and Clara R. Sparling Molusky, he was born March 13, 1926 in Callicoon, N.Y. He was married to Jean Wood Molusky. Donald was a veteran of World War II; member of Liberty Elks, the Callicoon Kiwanis, the Grey Fox Hunting Club, and a life member of H. Russell Kenyon Post 5808 Veteran of Foreign Wars in Callicoon, N.Y. Survivors include his wife, Jean Wood Molusky, at home; one son, Karl Frederick Molusky and his fianc‚e, Cheryl Stauch, of Callicoon; one daughter, Tracy Darder and Jeffrey Meola of Callicoon; his grandchildren: Katelyn Marie Molusky, Sara Jean Molusky, and their mother, Rae Ellen Becker, Shaun Michael Darder, Chelcie RE' Darder and Jared Donald Meola; and one brother, George I. Molusky of the state of Florida. Donald was predeceased by his brothers and sisters: Carl, Roberta, Adelaide, Robert and Vernon. There will be no visitation. Published in the Times Herald-Record on 4/24/2005. Pallazza, Maria Antonia (Anna) Maria Antonia (Anna) Pallazza, of Newburgh, entered into rest Thursday, April 21, 2005 in Wingate, Fishkill. She was 95. Anna was born June 26, 1909 in Stoneco, NY, a community near Poughkeepsie, and then moved to Cedarcliffe, just south of the Town of Marlboro. Her parents were the late Maria Vincenza Perillo and Federico M. Olympia. One of four sisters and five brothers, Anna and her family moved to 396 Washington Street in Newburgh in 1924, and she continued to live at this address for the remainder of her life. In 1935 she married Richard Pallazza, and had one son. She was a near lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church and a longstanding member of the Court Patricia Chapter of the Catholic Daughters. She greatly enjoyed her involvement in the Club 60 Group at the Delano-Hitch Recreation Park in Newburgh. Anna was generous in her support of family members as they experienced the joys and difficulties of life. She learned to read and write in the Italian language so she could provide aid and assistance to family members in Italy during the distressing period at the end of WWII. She comforted her mother and father and eased their passage at the end of their long lives. Anna survived serious illnesses and went on to live for many years in good health and with an excellent mind. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity, and will be dearly missed. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, in 1986, and her brothers, Dominic, Peter and Gerald Olympia. She is survived by her son, Richard Pallazza and his wife Maureen of Winston-Salem, NC.; grandsons Stefan and Brant of Minneapolis, MN; great-granddaughters, Mia and Samantha; brothers, Joseph and Daniel Olympia; sisters, Rose Terenzi, Irene Parisi and Josephine Dattoli, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive their friends from 2-5 pm on Sunday, April 24 at the Brooks-DiDonato Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh.
