He was 84. Daughter of the late Michael and Maria Saponaro Amorosi, he was born November 27, 1920 in Newburgh. He was married to the late Jane Shaw Amorosi. Angelo was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church, Newburgh, and a member of the Elk Club. He enjoyed his trips to Atlantic City and playing cards, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. Our dad was very devoted to his family and his friends. Survivors include his son, Michael Amorosi and his wife Susan of Spring Lake, NC; his daughters, Linda Bowen and her husband Bobby of Ft. Smith, AR, Susan Sinsabaugh and her husband Charles of Wappinger Falls, and Patricia Amorosi of Newburgh; his sister, Katherine Parisi of Newburgh; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his companion, Ann Venuti of Newburgh; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by two brothers, Gerry and Thomas; and five sisters, Theresa Crisci, Margaret Stigliano, Antoinette Saponaro, Susan Turner and Filomena Crisci. Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday, May 1 at the Brooks-DiDonato Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. Argiros, George Peter George Peter Argiros, a mechanic for Con Edison, NYC, died in the earlier morning hours on Thursday, April 28, 2005 at his home. He was 57 Years old. The son of the late Peter and Nellie Morris Argiros, he was born September 4, 1947 in New York City. A Vietnam Veteran, George proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Consuelo Alexander Argiros at home; 2 brothers, Christopher Argiros and his wife, Roseanne of Long Island and Fredy Argiros and his wife, Maryann of Vermont; one sister, Marion Duran and her husband, Tony of Minnesota; two sisters-in-law Sylvina Argiros-Gulley and her husband, Bill of Walden and Margaret Brown of New Rochelle; three nephews, Claude, Peter, and Jodie; as well as five nieces, Kelly, Jennifer, Jillian, Marrisa, and Kandie. George was predeceased by one brother, Spiro Argiros in 1997. The daughter of the late John and Nellie Garabarnt Halstead, she was born November 28, 1928 in Cornwall and was the wife of the late Edward Bockis. Survivors include two daughters, Diane Leslie of Laurel, Md., and Beverly Bockis of Middletown; a sister, Sharon Janerio of Cornwall; and several nieces and nephews. The son of Vincent A., Sr. and Doris Parliman Forestiere, he was born December 11, 1942 in Newburgh, N.Y. Hotz, of Hempstead, L.I., a supervisor having retired from Aero Space Industry, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Deltona Health Care in Deltona, Fla. He was 84. The son of Philip and Dorothy Borger Hotz, he was born on August 21, 1920 in Germany. A veteran, Mr. Hotz served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Survivors include his son, George E. Hotz of Deltona, Fla.; daughter Susan H. Jokinen of Farmington, N.Y.; and four grandchildren. Lamson, a retired New York City Firefighter and 50-year area resident, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Goshen. He was 91. Lenox was born February 13, 1914 in Brooklyn. He was the son of the late Emily and Henry Lamson, He moved to Monroe in 1954 with his wife, Madeline. He was a veteran of US Navy and served during World War II. Survivors include his son, Scott Lamson of Albany; two daughters, Victoria Perry of Upper Red Hook and Janet Rodriguez of Monroe; and numerous grandchildren. For those who knew him, it can be said that he enjoyed life and was such a nice guy. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Larkin, of Warwick NY, and formerly of The Highlands, NJ died on April 28, 2005 at Orange County Residential Health Care Facility, where he had been well cared for. He was 77 Born on November 16, 1927in Manhattan, he was the son of John C. and Irene Barry Larkin. He was the husband of the late Virginia (nee Smith). Mr. Larkin worked as a Longshoreman, and was a member of the International Longshoreman's Association. He also was a United States Navy Veteran of WW II. Survivors include his brother Robert Larkin of Warwick, two sisters Florence Ruffini of Syracuse, and Eileen Fogarty of Raleigh, NC and several nieces and nephews. Memmelaar, a lifetime area resident died on Thursday April 28 at O.R.M.C., Arden Campus in Goshen after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 42. The son of Albert R. and Bernadette Dross Memmelaar, he was born on June 1, 1962 in Goshen, NY. Al was full-spirited and was gifted with a wonderful sense of humor that comforted his family and friends in their toughest of times. He had a special passion for the outdoors and gardening. Al was one of a kind who will never be forgotten by those who knew him. Al is survived by his loving partner, Scott Hanofee at home; his parents, Bernadette and Albert Memmelaar Sr., of Goshen; two brothers, Brian and his wife Shelly of Campbell Hall, and Ken and his wife Tina of Greenville. Miller, a retired custodian at Inter-County Savings Bank in New Paltz, N.Y., died after a long illness at Castle Point VAMC on Thursday April 28, 2005. He was 79. The son of the late Henry Miller and Bertha Roth, he was born December 16, 1925 in New York City, N.Y. A resident of New Paltz for many years, he was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was a member of VFW Post #8645. In the early 60's, Thomas worked for Ulster County at the county farm. In the 70's, he worked for the New Paltz schools, and in the 80's he worked for the Town of New Paltz as Dog Warden, and worked at the Highway Department and Water Department. For many years he was a member of the Ulster County Sheriff's Possie Patrol riding horseback. He was one of New Paltz's first Constables. Thomas was predeceased by his wife, Ethel J. Hasbrouck in February of 1982. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Palmateer of Ardonia, N.Y.; two sons: Charles Miller of Gardiner, N.Y. and Thomas W. Miller of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one sister; and several nieces and nephews. The son of James and Irene Hanigan Riddick, he was born December 28, 1918 in Bronx, N.Y. A veteran, Mr. Riddick served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 1573 of Harriman; 127AA Gun Battalion Association; and the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge, Mid-Hudson Chapter 59. Survivors include his wife, Ellen Van Dyke of Harriman; his sons: Thomas Riddick of Middletown, Jeffery Riddick of W. Springfield, Mass., and Richard Riddick of Brewster, N.Y.; his step-son, George D. Weinert, Richard Gustave Richard Gustave Weinert lost his brave 10 year battle with chronic illness surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at St. Luke's-Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh, NY. He was the son of the late Gustave & Winifred Going Weinert and was born in the Bronx on May 13, 1931. He was 73. He loved his country and showed his patriotism by enlisting in the US Navy during the Korean War. He served from 1951 - 1955 and was honorably discharged. After completing active duty he continued to serve in the reserves for 33 years. He then joined the New York City Fire Department and retired in 1987. A loving papa and avid gardener, he loved life and lived it fully and happily. He leaves behind a legacy. He was a member of Highland Mills United Methodist Church, Woodbury American Legion Post 779 & Member of Orange County Firefighters Association of Retired FDNY.
