She was 89. Daughter of the late Domingo and Soleda Perez, she was born January 16, 1916 in Santiago, Cuba. She is survived by her husband, Frank Angelo, at home; a son, Manuel Martinez and his wife, Marla, of Montgomery; a daughter, Cynthia Martinez of the Town of Newburgh; five grandchildren: Serina Martinez, John David Martinez, Emil Pignetti III and Vicki, Manuel Pignetti and his wife, Julie, and Venessa Pignetti; and five great-grandchildren: Marissa Martinez, Amy Martinez, Emily Murphy, Emil Pignetti IV, and Manny Pignetti. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Perez. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory. Betty Bann (nee: Storms) of Union City, N.J., formerly of Greenville, N.Y., city of Port Jervis, died on Thursday August 4, 2005. Beloved wife of the late John J. Bann Sr., she was the devoted mother of Shirley Wieboldt, John J. Bann Jr., Dennis Bann and Stephen Bann. She is the dear sister of Gilbert and Norman Storms, and Evelyn DeFina, who also survive. She is cherished by ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. "Jewel" Gillespie, a homemaker and lifetime resident of the area, died Thursday August 4, 2005 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus. She was 94. The daughter of John W. Neusaenger and Adelaide Stewart Neusaenger, she was born June 15, 1911 in the Town of Shawangunk, N.Y. She was a lifetime member with her husband, L. Crawford Gillespie, in the Graham's United Presbyterian Church in Pine Bush, N.Y. They both held different officiers in the church. Jewel taught Sunday School in the church for many years. She and her husband delivered Meals on Wheels in Pine Bush for several years; and she was a member of the Town of Crawford Garden Club. A family statement reads: "Jewel met and fell in love with her husband of 61 years, L. Crawford Gillespie, who predeceased her on August 7, 1990. Our mom was a wonderful, beautiful lady, inside and out, who loved her family dearly. Our mom loved the Lord and always wore a hat to church. She cooked the best Sunday dinners and was famous for her Banana Nut Bread. Before her sight failed, she loved to watch her early afternoon soap operas, and did beautiful embroidery work. She taught us family values, respect and love. We will miss you always. When we look up and see the clouds touch, we will know our mom and dad are together again and holding hands, still in love." She leaves behind her loving children: Margaret (Peggy) Hackett of Middletown; Donald J. Gillespie of Middletown, and Lois E. Grossi and husband, Joseph, of Pine Bush; her beloved grandchildren: Judith Yannantuono of Pine Bush, Joseph T. She was predeceased by a son, Charles R. Gillespie, who died in 1990; a sister, Anna; and two brothers, John and William Neusaenger. David James Herbison, 53, lost his courageous battle with cancer on July 31, 2005 in Denver, Colo. Dave was born July 25, 1952 in Cornwall, N.Y. David was a Boy Scout, varsity athlete and graduate of Cornwall Central High, class of 1970. He was appointed to the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., where he continued to be active in U.S.M.A. varsity athletics. Dave graduated with an engineering degree in 1974. An Army Ranger, he served in Korea with the 2nd Infantry Division. Upon leaving active duty, he served in the Army Reserves and the Colorado National Guard, retiring as a Major in 2004. His civilian career included 19 years with Storage Tek Corporation and two years with Quantum. In reflection, a close friend said, "Dave lived his life exemplifying West Point's motto of Duty, Honor, Country. His final fight revealed the depth of his character, courage and dignity. He will be sorely missed by those he touched." He was predeceased by his father, James D. Herbison. Survivors include his mother, Marie (Hoffman) Herbison; his loving partner, Diane Pearson of Littleton, Colo.; daughters, Heather and Megan; son, Matthew; daughter-in-law, Laura; grandchildren, Derek and Tyler; and sisters, Diane Martinez and Nora Ann Reilly; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Lori Katz, 46, of Key West, Fla., formerly of Monroe, passed away at her home on August 4, 2005, after a brief illness. Lori was predeceased by her parents, Phyllis and Sanford Katz, formerly of Monroe. A devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend, she is survived by two sisters, noted photographer, RJKATZ (Robin J. Katz) and her partner, Bunny Singer, of Dix Hills, N.Y., and Sharon (Katz) and her husband, Jim Emerson, of Houston, Texas; and brother, Steven J. Katz and his wife, Claudia, of Key West. She also leaves behind two lovely nieces, Ashlyn and Patricia Katz, and a handsome nephew, Philip Emerson; as well as her grandmother and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Lori is also survived by her best friends of over 30 years, Peggy Nadramia and Peter Gilmore, of New York, N.Y. Lori leaves behind her close friend and assistant of 11 years, Crystal White, and numerous friends and clients. She will be sorely missed by her three dogs: Augie, Ruby and Mugsy. Lori was born in the Bronx, N.Y. on September 30, 1958. She graduated from Monroe-Woodbury, O.C.C.C., and Mercy College. She started her career in Journalism as a staff writer for the Photo News. Lori moved to Key West in 1986 to escape the cold New York winters (and to pick up sailors). Lori followed in her grandfather and father's footsteps and opened her own accounting practice in 1986. Lori was a tireless and relentless fundraiser for numerous charitable, cultural, and community causes. Daughter of the late John and Elsie Baxter Smith, she was born December 19, 1924 in Newburgh, N.Y. Mrs. Linton was a member of First Baptist Church in Newburgh; and was past president of the Newburgh Heights Association. She is survived by her husband, George Linton, at home; a son, David Linton of New York City, N.Y.; two daughters, Susan Weeks of Gibsonia, Pa., and Carol Linton of Newburgh; and grandchildren, Jordan Weeks and Jarrod Weeks. Rodriguez, Jose Reinaldo "Rei" Jose Reinaldo "Rei" Rodriguez of New Windsor, a counselor with Turning Point, St. Francis Hospital, entered into rest on Tuesday July 26, 2005 at home among the comfort of his family. He was 69. Son of the late Jose Rodriguez and Adelina Sepulveda, and the late Angela Negron, he was born June 13, 1936 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. A family statement reads: "Reinaldo was a loving and generous father who always worked hard for his family. The warmth of his smile and presence was palpable, and his family and friends basked in it. He found deep satisfaction in his work at the Turning Point, especially with his colleagues; and as a leader in the Hispanic program. He knew how to turn a tough situation around with humor and could quickly have us all smiling at life's predicaments. As his children remind us, their dad's comment set this occasion of his passing is, "The beat goes on." We acknowledge him and miss him every day." Reinaldo was a member of his local homeowner's association. Survivors include her son, Thomas Woodhouse of Towson, Md.; and several nieces and nephews, including Erin and Kelly Harmon.
