He was 84. Son of the late James Accetta and the late Rose Parente Accetta, he was born September 11, 1920 in New York, N.Y. Mr. Accetta was a former member and usher for St. Lucy's Parish in the Bronx, N.Y. He is survived by his wife, Frances Pavano Accetta, at home; one son, Robert J. Accetta of Monroe; one daughter, Barbara S. Locascio and her husband, Raymond E., of Cornwall; a daughter-in-law, Joanne Accetta of Monroe; sister, Jean Giordiano and her husband, Joseph of Chester; four grandchildren: Andrea Accetta, Jessica Accetta, Suzanne Locascio, and Victoria Locascio; and nieces and nephews. Angelo, Marie Marie Angelo, a retired teacher for Clairol Cosmetics in California and New York, and longtime resident of the area, died Friday August 5, 2005 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. She was 89. Daughter of the late Domingo and Soleda Perez, she was born January 16, 1916 in Santiago, Cuba. She is survived by her husband, Frank Angelo, at home; a son, Manuel Martinez and his wife, Marla, of Montgomery; a daughter, Cynthia Martinez of the Town of Newburgh; five grandchildren: Serina Martinez, John David Martinez, Emil Pignetti III and Vicki, Manuel Pignetti and his wife, Julie, and Venessa Pignetti; and five great-grandchildren: Marissa Martinez, Amy Martinez, Emily Murphy, Emil Pignetti IV, and Manny Pignetti. Lucille Bernabei, a homemaker of Brooksville, Fla., formerly of Maybrook, died July 31, 2005 in Brooksville, Fla. She was 67. The daughter of Joseph and Maria Theresa Yanello DeSantis, she was born December 21, 1937 in Maybrook, N.Y. The widow of Arthur Bernabei, she is survived by two sons, Darryl Johnson and his wife, Natalie, of Alabama, and Kirk Johnson and his wife, Kate, of Boston, Mass.; two brothers, James Orsino Sr. of Maybrook, and Frank DeSantis of Maybrook; five grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Colandrea, 80, a Newburgh area resident for most of his life, died August 6, 2005 at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Son of the late Cosimo Colandrea and Carmella Costagliola, he was born July 4, 1925 in Newburgh, N.Y. Rocco began as an area farmer who later developed an expertise for landscaping. As Colandrea Landscaping, Inc., he completed several large area commercial and residential contracts, including one area golf course and many Hudson Valley Schools. It has been said that Rocco taught his nephews, whom he had employed from time to time, the importance of a strict work ethic and the value of a dollar. In his sixties, taking a cue from one of his nephews, he relocated to Northern California to impart his gift of gab into a younger man's field of auto sales. Here he achieved many awards for his sales performance with luxury/import automobiles. Returing to New York to be near his family, Rocco continued in auto sales until his retirement. Rocco was a loving husband and father. He truly enjoyed life and the people he came in contact with on a daily basis. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, close friends and acquaintances. We love you, Rocco. May God now hold you in the palm of His hand. Mr. Colandrea was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Newburgh, N.Y. He is survived by two daughters, Rhoda Colandrea of Wallkill, and Lita Colandrea of Colorado; his former wife, Marilyn Belport Colandrea of Arizona; a brother, Louis and Bernice Greene Colandrea of the Town of Newburgh; two sisters, Lucy Bolognese of the Town of Newburgh, and Lena and Emil Casilli of Cornwall; his grandchildren: Rene‚, Geofry and Danielle; his good friend, Tony Columbo; and several nieces and nephews. She was 82 years old. The daughter of the late Sabato Nicoletti and Nona Springstead, she was born April 5, 1923 in Newburgh, N.Y., and was a graduate of Mount St. Mary's Academy; a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in St. Augustine, Fla.; and retired from IBM in Fishkill, N.Y. She was also a member of the Mount St. Mary's Academy Alumnae Association. Survivors include her daughter, Marianne Laxton of St. Augustine, Fla.; two sons, Gene Gordon and his wife, Debbie, of Tucson, Ariz., and Vincent Gordon and his wife, Ruth, of New Windsor; a sister, Delia Bellarosa of Walden; four grandchildren: Christopher, Matthew, Sarah and Kevin; and four great-grandchildren. Herbison, David James Formerly of Cornwall, N.Y. David James Herbison, 53, lost his courageous battle with cancer on July 31, 2005 in Denver, Colo. Dave was born July 25, 1952 in Cornwall, N.Y. David was a Boy Scout, varsity athlete and graduate of Cornwall Central High, class of 1970. He was appointed to the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., where he continued to be active in U.S.M.A. varsity athletics. Dave graduated with an engineering degree in 1974. An Army Ranger, he served in Korea with the 2nd Infantry Division. Upon leaving active duty, he served in the Army Reserves and the Colorado National Guard, retiring as a Major in 2004. His civilian career included 19 years with Storage Tek Corporation and two years with Quantum. In reflection, a close friend said, "Dave lived his life exemplifying West Point's motto of Duty, Honor, Country. His final fight revealed the depth of his character, courage and dignity. He will be sorely missed by those he touched." He was predeceased by his father, James D. Herbison. Survivors include his mother, Marie (Hoffman) Herbison; his loving partner, Diane Pearson of Littleton, Colo.; daughters, Heather and Megan; son, Matthew; daughter-in-law, Laura; grandchildren, Derek and Tyler; and sisters, Diane Martinez and Nora Ann Reilly; and aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. "Jack" Kelleher of Blooming Grove, a retired police officer with the New York City Police Department, died Friday August 5, 2005 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Arden Hill Campus. He was 67 years old. The son of the late Henry and Margaret Kelleher, he was born in New York City on March 27, 1938. He was also predeceased by a son, William Francis. Jack proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He later became a New York City Police Officer, where he protected and served for 20 years. Survivors include his devoted wife of 47 years, Honey, at home; his children and grandchildren: Margaret Schwarz and her husband, Peter, and their children, Peter Jr. and Katarina, of Slate Hill; his son, John Jr. and his wife, Janna, and their children, John III and Danny, of Fairfax, Va.; Kathleen Lange and her husband, Alex, and their daughters, Erin and Kerry, of Hamptonburgh; and Elizabeth Thorpe and her husband, Chris, and their sons, Christopher and Billy, of Pine Bush. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Gray; his sister-in-law, Catherine Gray-Remes; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Robert was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1956-1960; he was a graduate of Fordham University, Class of 1956, earning his B.A. degree. He was a member of the Otterkill Golf and Country Club and an avid golfer. He was 87. He was born May 15, 1918 in Leheigh, Pa., son of the late Anthony and the late Mary Terrebetzky. He was the widower of Julia Chrobatenko Terrebetzky, who predeceased him on July 22, 2003.
