Accetta, a 10-year area resident and retired electrician for Local #3, American Broadcasting Company in New York, N.Y., died Saturday August 6, 2005 at Orange Regional Medical Center in Goshen, N.Y. He was 84. Son of the late James Accetta and the late Rose Parente Accetta, he was born September 11, 1920 in New York, N.Y. Mr. Accetta was a former member and usher for St. Lucy's Parish in the Bronx, N.Y. He is survived by his wife, Frances Pavano Accetta, at home; one son, Robert J. Accetta of Monroe; one daughter, Barbara S. Locascio and her husband, Raymond E., of Cornwall; a daughter-in-law, Joanne Accetta of Monroe; sister, Jean Giordiano and her husband, Joseph of Chester; four grandchildren: Andrea Accetta, Jessica Accetta, Suzanne Locascio, and Victoria Locascio; and nieces and nephews. Formerly of Middletown, N.Y. Marie M. Arvanites, formerly of Middletown, passed away August 7, 2005 at the age of 90. She was born in Millbrook, N.Y., and was the wife of the late Thomas A. Arvanites. She moved to West Chester, Pa. in 1993. She was a 1936 graduate of Syracuse University. She taught elementary school in Richmond, Va. before becoming Executive Director of the Girl Scouts in Gloversville, N.Y. In 1953, she moved to Middletown where she returned to the classroom and taught second grade until 1977. She is survived by a son, Thomas M. Arvanites and his wife, Debra; and two grandchildren, Andrew and Lauren, all of West Chester, Pa.; a sister, Dorothy Wheeler of Sandy Creek, N.Y.; a step-daughter, Carolyn Kennedy of Menlo Park, Calif.; and two step-grandchildren, Mathew and Mark Kennedy of Los Angeles, Calif. Colandrea, 80, a Newburgh area resident for most of his life, died August 6, 2005 at Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Son of the late Cosimo Colandrea and Carmella Costagliola, he was born July 4, 1925 in Newburgh, N.Y. Rocco began as an area farmer who later developed an expertise for landscaping. As Colandrea Landscaping, Inc., he completed several large area commercial and residential contracts, including one area golf course and many Hudson Valley Schools. It has been said that Rocco taught his nephews, whom he had employed from time to time, the importance of a strict work ethic and the value of a dollar. In his sixties, taking a cue from one of his nephews, he relocated to Northern California to impart his gift of gab into a younger man's field of auto sales. Here he achieved many awards for his sales performance with luxury/import automobiles. Returing to New York to be near his family, Rocco continued in auto sales until his retirement. Rocco was a loving husband and father. He truly enjoyed life and the people he came in contact with on a daily basis. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, close friends and acquaintances. We love you, Rocco. May God now hold you in the palm of His hand. Mr. Colandrea was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Newburgh, N.Y. He is survived by two daughters, Rhoda Colandrea of Wallkill, and Lita Colandrea of Colorado; his former wife, Marilyn Belport Colandrea of Arizona; a brother, Louis and Bernice Greene Colandrea of the Town of Newburgh; two sisters, Lucy Bolognese of the Town of Newburgh, and Lena and Emil Casilli of Cornwall; his grandchildren: Rene‚, Geofry and Danielle; his good friend, Tony Columbo; and several nieces and nephews. He was the widower of Rose Rotundo Marrizzto Colandrea. He was also predeceased by one brother, Edward Colandrea, and two sisters, Mary Romano and Rose Zuchowski. Gershon, Alice Alice Gershon of Ellenville, a retired secretary for Ellenville National Bank, died Saturday August 6, 2005 in the Sullivan County Adult Care Center. She was 90. Alice was the daughter of David and Ida Plotkin. She was born June 1, 1915 in the Bronx, N.Y. She was a member of Congregation Anshe Tzaydik. The widow of Joel Gershon and Morris Berman, she is survived by her daughter-in-law, Martha Gershon; her grandchildren: Donna, Steven and Jamie Gershon; her great-grandchildren: Jason and Keith Lajoie, Julie Kulp and her husband, Dan, Jillian Gershon and Joel Gershon and his wife, Lisa; and great-great-grandchildren: Aubrie, Ethan and Noah Gershon. Felix C. Nanartowich, a longtime area resident and retired Federal Police Officer for the U.S. Mint at the United States Military Academy in West Point, N.Y., died Saturday August 6, 2005 at Keller Army Community Hospital in West Point, N.Y. He was 84. Son of the late Banadik Nanartowich and the late Ursala Romaka Nanartowich, he was born October 19, 1920 in Hancock, Mich. Mr. Nanartowich was a member of Sacred Heart R.C. Church in Highland Falls, N.Y., and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. As a TSgt. of the U.S.A.F., Felix dedicated 21 years of service to the military and his country. His military career began in 1939, delivering various military equipment and aircraft parts throughout the country. During World War II, he received numerous citations and awards, including three Purple Hearts for infantry combat during the invasions of North Africa, Sicily, Salerno, and Anzio. He was wounded in battle on three separate occasions yet still managed to return to the service as a flight engineer and crew chief for B-17 Bombers. He was stationed with a bomber squadron in Japan at the outbreak of the Korean War. Upon returning to the States, he was stationed in California and New York, working the flight line for the new strategic bombers and jet-fighters, ensuring their readiness during the height of the Cold War. He was the widower of Jane Gorry Nanartowich, and his survived by four sons: Victor Nanartowich and his wife, Cheryl, of Highland Falls, Edward Nanartowich and his wife, Laura, of Williamsburg, Va., and John and Michael Nanartowich, both of Highland Falls; two daughters, Katheryn Mennite and her fianc‚e, William Green, of Highland Falls, and Jeanne Caldwell and her husband, Robert, of Leesburg, Va.; one sister, Helen Jeheber of Highland Falls; one brother, Victor Nanartowich and his wife, Beth, of Galway, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren: Michelle, Victor, Michael, Christopher, Marina, Thomas, Jack, Bridgit, Mark, Katheryn, Mary, and Bobby; two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Katlyn; and several nieces and nephews. "Ozzie" Osowick of Port Jervis, retired from the Port Jervis Post Office and lifetime resident of Port Jervis, died Saturday August 6, 2005 at Bon Secours Community Hospital. He was 86. He was born January 12, 1919 in Port Jervis, N.Y., the son of the late Paul and the late Anna Grasimchiek Osowick. He was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Port Jervis. Ozzie was a former well-known bowler in Port Jervis. He was a member of the local Bowling Associations, as well as being in the Bowling Hall of Fame. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was a former P.O.W., and was a member of the Roosa-Fleming V.F.W. Post #161. He was also formerly employed at Novelty Slipper Co. in Port Jervis. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Anne J. Biondi Osowick, at home; a daughter, Nancy McNeece and her husband, Brian, of Lakeville, Pa.; two brothers-in-law, James J. Biondi of Port Jervis, and Dominick Biondi and his wife, Pat, of Wayne, N.J.; a sister-in-law, Louise T. Fox of Matamoras, Pa., and also several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was born December 26, 1920 in Scranton, Pa., the daughter of the late Harry and the late Helen A. Fisher Labosky. She was the widow of the late Arthur R. Ouslander; who predeceased her on June 8, 1996. She was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church and AARP. Surviving are three sons: John Krupunich and his wife, Nancy, of Port Jervis, Richard Krupunich and his wife, Ellen, of Middletown, and Arthur R. Son of Fred and Gladys Hornbeck Sheeley, he was born October 4, 1923 in Accord, N.Y. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and was a former member of Kimble Hose Company in Ellenville. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. Survivors include his loving wife, Iris Lybolt Sheeley, at home; his daughter and caregiver, Joan Kent of Summitville; and several additional children, grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Son of George and Dorothy Bryan Zeltmann, he was born September 17, 1949 in Liberty, N.Y. Todd was a member of the Retired NYS Troopers Association; and the NYS Police Benevolent Association. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Reardon Zeltmann, at home; one son, John F. Zeltmann and his wife, Lee-Ann, of Highland; one daughter, Laura Zeltmann of Newburgh; three brothers: Roger Zeltmann of Danville, Calif., Eric Zeltmann of Baldwinsville, N.Y., and Conrad Zeltmann of Minnesota; and nieces and nephews.
