She was 78. She was born to Vincent and Mary D'Antona Graziano on January 31, 1927 in Highland Falls, N.Y. She was married to Frank A. Daly. Rose is survived by her three children, Frank Daly of Brooklyn, Robert Daly of Newburgh and Regina Stalter of Florida; three grandchildren Jason Daly, Harmony and Damien Stalter; one brother Louie Graziano of Newburgh and two sisters, Jennie Perri of Newburgh and Mary Ledbedder of Florida. She was predeceased by five siblings, Michael, Jack and Charlie Graziano, Connie Sherwood and Angie Wischard. Girardi, Daniel Mr. Daniel Girardi, of Port Jervis, died Monday, August 8, 2005 at Bon Secours Community Hospital with his family by his side. He was 84. He was born November 17, 1920 in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of the late Joseph and the late Catherine LaCapra Girardi. He married Helen Scudellari on November 28, 1943 in New York City. Daniel ran his own advertising agency called Gelles Advertising in Bronx, N.Y. He was a member of U.S. Army Veteran of WW II. He worked for 12 years as advertising director for Rea Buick, Port Jervis, was a graduate of Pace University and went on to study Art in Paris, France. A family statement read: "He was an avid Yankee fan. He loved his family and great-grandchildren. He was an avid reader. He made up many of the New York Times Crossword Puzzles and had many published. He was a great jokester and could always come back with a wise crack answer. He will be missed by many." Lulu was married to the late Roy Heater, Sr. who predeceased her on October 18. 2002. Hughes of Callicoon, Ctr., N.Y. and Wolverhampton, England, a retired Electrical Engineer for ECC, Wolverhampton, England and a part-time resident of the area, died Monday, August 8, 2005 at Catskill Regional Medical Ctr., Harris, N.Y. He was 87. The son of the late Gilbert and Mabel Cuttle Hughes, he was born April 12, 1918 in Bristol, England. He was married for 43 years to the late Dorothy Dunkley. Alfred was a member of the Church of England, Union Member of AEEU, and he was an avid Wolverhampton Wanderers Fan. A family statement reads, "He was the rock that their family was built on, he was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family." Koskey, Muriel Elizabeth Ober Muriel Elizabeth Ober Koskey died Saturday August 6, 2005 in Philadelphia, PA at the age of 85. She was a 1939 graduate of Packer Collegiate Institute in Brooklyn, NY and a performer of radio, stage and television, appearing at the Roxy Theatre, on the Ted Mack Amateur Hour and the Nyla Mack Children's Hour, along with portraying Whistler's mother with Hoagy Carmichael. She was most proud of her role as wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Koskey was born in Brooklyn, NY on Nov. 7th, 1919. She lived in Floral Park, NY for 34 years and Milford, PA for 14 years before moving to Lawrenceville, NJ. She is preceded in death by her parents Dolph and Lydia Ober, sisters Ruth Brucken, Gretchen Bowen and Fannie Givens. McDonough of Kingston, died August 8, 2005. He was 49. He was born August 20, 1955 in Kingston, a son of the late Vincent Ward and Rose G.. Hart McDonough. He was a general manager for Bedding and Waterbed Gallery, based in Fishkill. Kevin married Linda Parkhurst on October 16, 1976. Kevin was a Corrections Officer at the Shawangunk Correctional Facility for the past 12 years. A fire fighter and former Lieutenant with the Spring Lake Fire Department, Kevin was a former chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners of Ulster Fire District #1. He was a 23-year member of Rip Van Winkle Council, Boy Scouts of America and a former Scout Master of Troop #3 in Kingston. He was currently assistant scoutmaster and committee member of Troop 20, Hurley. He served as a merit badge counselor and was an avid motorcyclist. In addition to his wife of 28 years are three sons, Jeremiah McDonough and his wife Phoebe of Kingston, Sgt. Patrick McDonough and his wife Janai of Ft. Drum, NY and Pvt. Montbriand, Donald Robert Donald Robert Montbriand passed away on July 26, 2005 in Caladonia, Miss. He was 76. He was born in Jersey City on August 25, 1929 to Russell and Mildred Montbriand. His family settled in Teaneck, N.J. Donald served his country in the Korean War. He was in the Air Force, Airman 2nd Class AF21753427. Many called him Don or "Koda." He retired from the Boilermakers Union, Local Five. He worked all over New York, including Indian Point and the Roseton Power Plant. He loved the Hudson Valley. When he retired, he bought a ranch in Mississippi. He still welded and had his own shop, creating artwork that surrounded his yard. No one could weld better than Monty! Sauer, Jeffrey Russell Jeffrey Russell Sauer, of Bel Air, died from complications of Multiple Sclerosis on August 7, 2005 at Upper Chesapeake Hospital. He was 52. Born in Flushing Queens, N.Y. on May 27, 1953, he was the son of Russell and Amelia Sauer (nee Savarese). Mr. Sauer graduated from Port Jervis High School in 1971 and attended Orange County Community College in Middletown, N.Y. He started his 33-year career in finance with Capital Finance. As the company changed and merged (now CitiFinancial) he became Vice President and Senior Credit Officer, a position he has held for the last 15 years. Previously, Jeff enjoyed playing guitar and singing in the band The Bottom Line. He most recently enjoyed being in social organizations, such as Kiwanis, and coach for Pee Wee Bowling at Forest Hill Lanes. Mr. Sauer and his wife, Kim Sauer (nee Pettinelli) were married in New York on October 16, 1981, and have lived in Bel Air for the last 15 years. Along with his wife and parents, Mr. Sauer is survived by his five children Heather Rey and her husband Scott of Abingdon, Jennifer Frady and her husband Jerry of Woodland Hills, Calif., Amy Sauer of Port Jervis, N.Y., and Scott and Megan Sauer of Bel Air; four siblings Russell Sauer of Aguora Hills, Calif., Janet Smith of Port Jervis, N.Y., Ronald Sauer of Englewood, Colo. and Kerry Sauer of Port Jervis, N.Y.; and one grandson Zachary Rey. Published in the Times Herald-Record on 8/10/2005. Tocher, Arthur Wood Arthur Wood Tocher, a lifelong resident of Tuxedo, N.Y., died on August 9, 2005 in Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, N.Y. He was born in Tuxedo on January 20, 1919, attended the town's public schools, and graduated from George F. Baker High School. During World War II, he was a Rifleman with the 2nd Infantry Division. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for distinguished service in Europe, where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. For more than 20 years, Art worked for the Curtiss-Wright Corporation's propeller division in Caldwell, N.J., as a member of the International Order of Machinists. He held a second long-term job in the granulation department of Ciba-Geigy in Suffern, N.Y. (now Novartis), retiring in 1986. Art was a charter member of and driver for the Tuxedo Volunteer Ambulance Corps. He was fascinated by, and extremely knowledgeable about, transportation history and large vehicles of all kinds-ambulances, fire engines, and locomotives, but especially trucks, and Mack tractors in particular. He shared his rich recollections of truck lore with fellow members of the Antique Truck Club of America, through letters, photos, and historical vignettes, a number of which were published in the Club's magazine, "Wheels of Time." In his hometown, Art was well known as a trove of stories about the "old days," enhanced by his wonderful memory for details and his sense of humor. He loved Tuxedo and its people and never liked to be away from home for very long. In accordance with his wishes, he will be buried in the cemetery at St. Mary's in Tuxedo. Arthur Tocher is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Tangney Tocher; son, Timothy, and daughter-in-law, Judith; daughter, Bonnie Clause; grandson, Jason Kekoa Greene; and niece, Elizabeth Tocher Peck. VanDervoort, a retired buyer for Hallmark Stores for many years, most recently an employee for J.C. Penny and longtime resident of the area, entered into rest on Monday, August 8, 2005 at Valley View Center in Goshen. She was 66. The daughter of the late John and Dorothy Geer Leavens, she was born February 3, 1939 in Middletown. She loved traveling, theatre, art, movies and books. Survivors include her son, Jeffery Salvati and wife Kathleen of Wappingers Falls; daughter Karen Robinson and husband Charles of Godeffroy; two grandchildren, Jennifer Salvati and Craig Robinson. Wankoff, Bert Bert Wankoff, a retired City of New York Supervisor for Social Services, entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 8, 2005 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus. He was 60. Bert was born in the Bronx on March 22, 1945, the son of Abraham and Lillian Wankoff. He was a lifetime fan of the New York Yankees. Bert was a member of the Happy Seniors and Walkill Seniors.
