She was 66. The daughter of the late Primiano Fiscella and the late Florence DeGroodt, she was born August 17, 1938 in Ardonia, N.Y. Ellie was a member of St. Joseph's Church in New Paltz; MLS and National Association of Realtors; and was a former school teacher for the Wallkill School District. She was a graduate of SUNY Oswego. She married Darold John Carlson on November 3, 1962 in New Paltz, N.Y., who survives at home. She is also survived by three daughters: Lisa Ann Carlson of Clintondale; Danielle Carlson-Murphy and her husband, David Murphy, of Gardiner, and Kimberly Carlson-Dimitri and her husband, Michael, of High Falls; one son, Christopher Carlson and his wife, Lisa Jo, of Highland; one sister, Florence Jesse of Clintondale; three grandchildren: Caroline Murphy and Patrick Murphy, both of Gardiner, and Ashley Carlson of Highland; one nephew, Mark Waldron of California; and family pet Bingo Bailey. Clark of Bloomingburg, a lifelong resident of the area, and Orange County retiree, having worked at the Orange County Airport, died Monday August 15, 2005 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus in Middletown. He was 67. The son of Gertrude B. Sbat Clark and the late Daniel H. Clark, he was born March 26, 1938 in Goshen, N.Y. He was the widower of Christine Clark. A 20-year veteran having retired from the United States Army, Mr. Clark served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his children: Daniel Thomas Clark of Dimock, Pa., Dawn Orlowski of Bloomingburg, and Debra Miller of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; and his mother, Gertrude B. Clark of Middletown. Crist Jr., of New Windsor, a retired civil service worker at Castle Point, entered into rest on Sunday, August 14, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh. He was 84. Son of the late Leroy and Mae Kenney Crist Sr., he was born March 28, 1921 in Cornwall. Mr. Crist served his country proudly in the US Army and was a World War II veteran. DeFeo, Joseph Joseph DeFeo of New Windsor, a retired machinist for Starr Expansion, entered into rest on Sunday, August 14, 2005 at Fishkill Health Center. He was 92. Son of the late Vito and Anella DiBlasi DeFeo, he was born August 26, 1912 in Amsterdam, N.Y. He married Dorothy Marshall DeFeo, 57 years ago, on September 21, 1947 in Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh. A family statement reads: "Joseph was a loving, devoted husband, father, and cherished brother, brother-in-law and uncle. He was a compassionate friend to all who knew him. He had a kind heart and shared his time and talents with everyone. He will be truly missed by his family and friends. No one loved his wife and daughter more than Joseph did." Joseph served his country proudly and with honor in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and received the World War II Victory Medal. In addition to working as a machinist for Starr Expansion, he also worked for Bigelow-Sanford Carpet Mills in Amsterdam, N.Y., and General Electric in Schenectady, N.Y. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Newburgh; a member of the Usher Society of Sacred Heart Church; St. Anthony and Mt. Carmel Societies, and St. Agnello Society of Amsterdam, N.Y.; a lifetime member of the Vails Gate Volunteer Fire Department, where he served as Fire Police Chief for several years; Catholic War Veterans; the Disabled War Veterans; and V.F.W. of Newburgh. He was also a member of the New Windsor Democratic Committee and the New Windsor Seniors. He enjoyed calling Bingo at the firehouse and at Sacred Heart Church. Joseph was also an avid bowler and fisherman. Survivors include his loving wife at home; his daughter, Elaine DeFeo of New Windsor; his sisters, Sophie Tambasco and her husband, Frank, Grace Palombi and her husband, Alfred, Josephine Palombi, and Jennie Riccio and her husband, Carmen, all of Amsterdam, N.Y.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Diamond, Sylvia Sylvia Diamond, a longtime resident of Monticello and the widow of Martin (Marty) Diamond, passed away at Catskill Regional Medical Center on Sunday, August 14, 2005. She was 91. Sylvia was born in New York City on August 17, 1913, the daughter of Morris and Mary Mandell Sampson. She was a longtime active member of many clubs and organizations including the Landfield Ave Synagogue and the hospital auxiliary. She is survived by her two daughters Irene Greenfield of Monticello and Joan Diamond of San Francisco, Calif.; her two grandchildren Joseph Greenfield and his wife Bonnie and Suzanne Lieberman and her husband Barry; and her great-granddaughter Madelyn Jenna Greenfield. Sylvia was predeceased by her husband, Martin (Marty) Diamond in 2000, her son-in-law Melvin Greenfield and her five brothers and four sisters. Fiamma, Vita Vita Fiamma, age 78, passed away on August 13, 2005 at Orange Regional Center, Horton Campus in Middletown, N.Y. She was born August 31, 1926 in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of the late Paolo and Lucia Orlando. On July 22, 1950 she was united in marriage to the late Edgidio Fiamma in Sicily, Italy. Vita was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union for 40 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Ridgewood, Queens prior to moving to Orange County, where she was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Washingtonville and Our Lady of the Assumption Church of Bloomingburg. She was a member of the Third Order Franciscan ministry of St. Adelbert's located in Elmhurst, N.Y. She was a devout Roman Catholic missionary who touched many people's hearts with her prayers. She was a resident of Maspeth and Washingtonville. She was also a resident of Mt. Alverno, Warwick, and of Park Manor, Middletown. Vita was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by family and friends. Vita is survived by her daughter, Angela Colonna-Revellese and her husband, Joseph; and her two grandsons, Paul Colonna and Matthew Colonna. Gardner, Jane Halstead Jane Halstead Gardner of Middletown, a lifelong resident of the area, died Monday August 15, 2005 at the Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus, after a long illness. She was 77. The daughter of the late Fred and Jennie Halstead, she was born December 4, 1927 in Middletown, N.Y. Jane was a lifelong member of North Congregational Church in Middletown. She had a beautiful trained Soprano voice and sang in the church choir as well as the Chaminade Club, a local women's choral group. She sang in recitals and for many weddings. She was a member of the Garden Lover's Club of Middletown as well. Jane was Chairman of the Middletown High School, Class of 1946 Reunion Committee, keeping her class together for many years. Jane was the devoted Wife of Arthur Gardner for 57 years. She was the loving and caring Mother of Linda Linneman and her Husband, Glenn; and the devoted Grandmother to her Grandsons, Michael, Robert and his Wife, Jaime, and Richard and his Wife, Stephanie Linneman; as well as the proud Great-Grandmother of Courtney Linneman, all of Clifton Park, N.Y. Jimmy was born on July 11, 1945 to Paul F. and Eileen S. Johnson in Brooklyn, N.Y. He graduated from Monroe-Woodbury High School in 1963 where he participated in football, basketball and track. At one time, he held the county scholastic record in the pole vault. He obtained a Bachelor's Degree from Cortland State and a Master's Degree in Criminology from Texas A & M University. He first worked for the Texas State Dept. of Parole and the United States Border Patrol before retiring as a special agent from the Immigration and Naturalization Service after more than 20 years of service. Jimmy was also an Honorably Discharged Veteran of the US Army. He is survived by his mother of Holladay, Tenn; two brothers Peter of South Carolina and Timothy of Arkansas; five sisters, Judith and Kathryn of New York, Nancy of Louisiana, Barbara of Tennessee and Virginia of Colorado; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. Warren R. Lokey, of Hobe Sound, Fla., formerly of Fernandina Beach, Fla., entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 1, 2005 at age 55. Mr. Lokey was the son of Clarence R. and Pauline Sayer Lokey, born in Middletown, N.Y., on August 7, 1949. He was predeceased by his parents. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a 1967 graduate of Middletown High School. Mr. Lokey was a member of the Middletown Elk Lodge #1097, volunteer fireman with the Wallkill Fire Company #6 and one of the founders and vice-president of the Amelia Research and Recovery of Fernanida Beach, Fla. Maher, of Woodbourne and retired Pastor of the Church of the Immaculate Conception from 1967-1988, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2005 at Our Lady of Consolation Residence in Bronx, New York. He was 91. The son of Joseph and Hannah Leonard Maher, he was born on September 20, 1913 in the Bronx. Rev. Maher attended St. John's Chrysostom Elementary School, All Hollows High School and St. Joseph's Seminary. He was ordained on June 3, 1939. Rev. Maher had many years of appointments. His first appointment began in 1939 at St. Patrick's in Newburgh and many to follow such as St. Mary's in Saugerties in 1957, St. Patrick's in Bedford in 1958, Our Lady of Mercy in Bronx, N.Y. in 1959, and Sacred Heart of Jesus in Manhattan in 1965. In 1967 Rev. Maher became administrator of the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Woodbourne and in 1968 he was appointed Pastor where he remained until his retirement in 1988. He was also a Prison Chaplain for the State of New York. He is survived by his sister, Sr. Eileen Maher of The Sisters of Charity of New York, one brother Joseph E. Maher of Florida, two nieces and several great-nieces and nephews, and his loving extended families the Kane family and Schiffer family. He was predeceased by one sister Mary Leinhard. He was 61. The son of the late Samuel and Genevieve Roland Mitchell, he was born April 21, 1944 in Walden. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Bob had also worked at the Orange County Airport in Montgomery. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, the Walden Sportsman's Club and the N.R.A. A family statement reads, "Bob was a loving and devoted husband and father and will always be remembered with great affection by both his family and his friends." Power, Mary Mary Power of Washingtonville, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday August 13, 2005. She was 69. Born July 15, 1936 in Bronx, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anne Goodrich Bohan. Mary was a 1956 graduate of Mary Mount College earning her B.A., and went on to Fairfield University to earn her M.A. She was a retired school teacher for C.S. 102 in the Bronx, retiring in 1991. After her retirement, Mary went on to Westchester Community College and became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at Osbourne and Cabrini Nursing Homes. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Matthew Power in 1979; a brother, Charles Bohan, and a sister, Ann Mulligan. The son of Donald S. and Elizabeth Zweck Prince, he was born on Dec. 11, 1958 in Liberty, NY. Wilson, Richard Lee Mr. Richard Lee Wilson, age 60, of Middletown, died unexpectedly on Thursday, August 12, 2005 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus. Born in Warwick, N.Y. on February 8, 1945, he was the son of the late Charles Emmett and Myrtle Louise Conklin Wilson. He was a retired factory worker at Kieley & Mueller Company in Middletown. He was a former member of Western Orange Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Middletown Police Auxiliary. He is survived by three daughters: Carol Shanahan and her husband, Rodney, of Mountain Home, Idaho, Myrtle Wilson and Kellie Wilson of Middletown; his brother, Charles Wilson and his wife, Sandi, of Salina, Okla.; his sister, Dorothy Salcito and her husband, Joseph, of Barre, Mass.; grandson, Tyler Shanahan; twin granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Mikayla Shanahan; and several nieces and nephews.
