(Les) James L. (Les) Ackert, self-employed D.D.&A. Contracting in New Paltz and lifelong resident of New Paltz, died August 16, 2005 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 68. The son of Leslie Ackert and Grace Bonner, he was born August 13, 1937 in Kingston. He married Jacklyn Naccarato on July 19, 1958 in St. Mary's Church in Kingston. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by all. Survivors include his wife at home in New Paltz; two daughters, Kim Marie Walls of Wallkill, Christie Marie Burda of New Paltz; three sons James R. Ackert of New Paltz, David Michael Ackert of New Paltz, Robert Shawn Ackert of Tillson; one sister Ella Mae Lyons of New Paltz; four brothers Brian Martin of South Carolina, Wayne Ackert, Chester Ackert and R. Darrell Ackert all of New Paltz; eight grandchildren, Christopher Walls, Thomas Walls, Robert Walls, Lauren Walls, David Michael Ackert Jr., Christian Burda, Madison Burda and Brian Ackert; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Eleanore Lane and Ruth Martin and two brothers John Martin and Gilbert Ackert. Bauer of Ossining, N.Y. and Cape Coral, Florida, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital, Newburgh. He was 50. Son of Richard J. and Anita Henning Bauer, he was born January 13, 1955 in Rockville Center, Long Island, N.Y. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Weyant Bauer whom he married August 1, 2004 at Holy Innocent Church, Briarcliff Manor, NY; his parents, Richard J. and Anita Bauer; a son, Court Bauer and his wife, Sarah of Larchmont, NY; a brother, Richard H. Cardini, Lawrence Lawrence Cardini of Monticello left this world on Thrusday, July 28, 2005. He died at his home and we wish him well and know that he is in a better place. He was 62. The son of Angelo and Norma Battaglia Cardini, he was born March 30, 1943 in Monticello. Lawrence attended Monticello schools, served briefly in the United States Navy and resided in Monticello his entire life. He is survived by his sister, Deana Cardini Roberts and her husband C. L. Roberts of Houston, Texas, a niece Rachel Roberts of Houston, four cousins, Alice, Bert and John Picarello of Monticello and Biff Picarello of San Diego, his steadfast and loving friends Eddie and Joanne Morse, along with his beloved mutt "Lady" and scores of friends. His friends knew him as a local character as he made a lot of people laugh with his antics and quirky ways. He also loved birds, nature, outdoors and photography. Clancy, Ruth Eleanor Ruth Eleanor Clancy passed away on Tuesday August 16, 2005 at Elant Nursing Home in Newburgh. She was 82. Daughter of the late Edward and Margaret McDonald, she was born September 8, 1922 in Newburgh. She was the wife of the late Charles B. Clancy. Ruth was a longtime employee of the New York Telephone Company. She is survived by her son, Michael P. Clancy and his wife, Michele, of Newburgh; her daughter, Eileen Salazar and her husband, Ron, of Bloomingburg; two sisters, Justina "Tina" Irwin of Milford, Conn., and Margaret "Peggy" Love of Hemet, Calif.; her grandchildren: Ryan Clancy of Nyack, Lauren Clancy of Providence, R.I., and Taylor Salazar, Meggie Salazar, and Rachael Salazar, all of Bloomingburg; and several nieces, nephews and good friends in the Colonial Terraces in Newburgh. Obi, Patrick Etukokwu "Sunny" Patrick "Sunny" Etukokwu Obi, a 6-year resident of the area, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 11, 2005 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Horton Campus. He was 40 years old. The son of Joseph and the late Theresa Okonkwo Obi, Patrick was born on May 20, 1965 in Onitsha, Nigeria. He was an auto parts dealer in Nigeria before coming to the United States. A member of The Congregational Church of Howells, Patrick has lived in Middletown since 1999. As a humble and sincere Christian, he faithfully participated in the Sunday services, Bible studies and prayer meetings at his church in Howells. He especially loved worship and as a soloist would sing many favorite hymns from memory! The Lord had given Sunny a special gift to pray for others, and his many months in the hospital did not quench his spirit of praise and prayer! He was an encouragement to everyone who knew him and will always be remembered for his kindness toward others and his love for Christ. One of Patrick's favorite psalms was Psalm 46. He is survived by his father, Joseph of Onitsha, Nigeria; two brothers, Joseph Onuorah Obi Jr. of Nigeria and Zephyrinus Ejoor Obi of Toronto, Canada; three sisters, Juliana, Elizabeth and Theresa all of Nigeria; as well as many nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters of the Howells Congregational Church. Born in Italy on October 6, 1914, she was the daughter of Angelo and Filomena Visca Bianchi. She was the widow of Eugene Raponi. She was a communicate of St. Joseph Catholic Church Middletown, a member of St. Joseph Choir, the Altar Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters, Court Rosemary. She is survived by her son Eugene Dominick Raponi and his wife Marcia of Forestburg; four daughters Anita Swensen and her husband Harry and Juanita Marchellos all of Middletown, Angela Usobiaga and her husband Tony of Pleasantville and Theresa Lichwick of Kingston; her brother Anthony Bianchi Sr. and his wife Sue; three sisters Teresa DeStefano and her husband Louis, Joan Stifano and Josephine Refari and her husband Mario all of Middletown; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Mary Bellotto and Assunta Bianchi and her brother Albertco Bianchi. Trubenbach, Karen Lynn Karen Lynn Trubenbach, self-employed Kid Kare Day Care and lifelong resident of the area, died August 16, 2005 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla. She was 47. The daughter of Vivian J. Yox and the late Eugene Kramer, she was born May 11, 1958 in Newburgh. She was an avid crafter who loved making blankets for family and friends. She was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Society Orange County and was a columnist for the Mid Hudson Times. Karen was a nurturing person, always giving of herself, never asking for return. Seventeen years in the daycare business, many children passed through her doors. She cried with the parents as they would start that first day of school and she cried again when they would move on. She treated and loved them all as if they were her own. She also found the time to write a weekly column for a local paper, go to college, raise a family, volunteer at the church, be a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to many. She will be missed forever. Survivors include her husband Herb Trubenbach; mother Vivian J. Yox Kramer; son William Post of Newburgh; daughter Kaitlyn Trubenbach at home; brothers, Eugene Kramer of Ohmaha, Neb., Glen Kramer of Poughkeepsie; sister Ann Ball of Tennessee; grandchildren Cheyenne, Luke, Carrie and Raymond; several nieces and nephews.
