The son of the late Aaron Raymond and Dorothy (Martens) Alexander, he was born February 13, 1952 in Newburgh, N.Y. Atkins, Wayne Wayne Atkins, an employee of Shop Rite, Fishkill and longtime resident of the area, died Wednesday, August 17, 2005 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. Daughter of the late Mark S. and Anna McManus McKinstry, she was born on May 7, 1922 in the Bronx, N.Y. She was the widow of Walter P. Angell and Joseph C. Bonetti Sr. She was retired from Castle Point Veteran's Hospital and Veteran's Services in Goshen. Brown Jr., Robert (Bobby) Robert C. "Bobby" Brown Jr., former 58-year resident of Ellenville, where he was the owner of Brown's Colonial Inn, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2005. He was 66. He moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., eight years ago from Ellenville and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was known by many as "Bobby Brown" during his seven years at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club. He is survived by his two children Robert (Janet) Brown III and Bridget (Jason) Bela; brother Edward (Lucy) Brown and sister Geraldine (Robert) Wright; and two grandchildren Robert Anthony Brown and Ava Marie Bela. Sheriff's Department, died Thursday, August 18, 2005 in Boynton Beach, Fla. He was 67. The son Robert H. (Sonny) and Gertrude Bullis Brown Sr., he was born February 5, 1938 in Goshen, N.Y. He served as the Mayor of Maybrook from 1977 to 1990 - a job he truly loved. Since 2000, he served as president of the Mirror Lakes Homeowners Association of Boynton Beach, Fla. He was a trustee on the Maybrook Village Board; Maybrook Police Department; past president of the Maybrook Fire Department; Town of Montgomery Republican Committee; first vice chairman of the Orange County Republican Committee; 1988 Delegate to the Republican National Convention, New Orleans, La.; chairman of the Orange County Ranking Committee who was responsible for handing out federal grants; volunteer for the Town of Montgomery Meals on Wheels; member of the Trade Winds Homeowner's Association, Boynton Beach, Fla.; Church of the Assumption, Maybrook; and St. Matthew's R.C. Church, Boynton Beach, Fla. He was a proud supporter of Maybrook's Boy Scout Marching Troup #236 and the Maybrook Little League Program. Survivors include his wife, Anna T. Carlson of Spring Glen, a lifelong resident and a retired master mason at Eastern New York Correctional Facility in Napanoch, died August 18, 2005 in the Ellenville Regional Hospital. He was 87. The son of Oscar and Rebecca Wyant Carlson, he was born May 16, 1918 in Kingston, N.Y. He was a member of the Ulster Heights United Methodist Church; a life member of the Ulster Heights Rod and Gun Club; he was the former Commander of the Ellenville V.F.W.; past President of the CSEA; and he worked with the C.C.C. camps before World War II. Mr. Carlson was active during the building of Lippman Park. He served in the United States Army Engineers during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Celina Ramotowski Carlson, at home; two daughters, Shirley Carlson Bartee of Blufton, S.C., and Barbara Carlson Wells and her husband, Bill, of Ulster Heights; his son, Alvin C. Choate, 76, of Fishkill, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2005 at his home with his family by his side, following a long illness. Born March 4, 1929 in Worcester, Mass., he was the son of the late James Everett Choate and Susan (Northridge) Choate. Bruce was raised in Worcester and was a graduate of North High School, Class of 1947. After high school, he attended Worcester Jr. College and then served in the US Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. from 1952 to 1954. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1957 with a degree in mechanical engineering. On July 11, 1953, Bruce married Virginia Marie Johnson, his loving wife of 52 years. They moved to Fishkill, N.Y. in 1957 where he was employed by Texaco Inc. at their Product Research Center in Glenham, N.Y. In 1991, he retired after 35 years. Bruce was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather to his family, who always came first. He was an active member of the National Ski Patrol for over 30 years, a lifetime member of the Southern Dutchess Sportsman Assoc., a past president of the Rip Van Winkle Ski Council, a former assistant Scout Master and played numerous other support roles in his family's activities through the years. He enjoyed skiing, boating, and island camping on Lake George, golfing and hunting. He spent some of his happiest times vacationing with family at his summer home on Lake George, N.Y. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Radcliffe N. Choate and sister Beverly Irene Choate. He is survived by his wife Virginia M. (Johnson) Choate; four children Elaine Musits and husband Bela and their children Jason and Andrew of Queensbury, N.Y., Julie Prendeville and husband Mark and their children Emma and Hanna of Diamond Point, N.Y., Bruce G. The son of Freddie Mae Lewis, he was born February 1, 1943 in Tuskegee, Alabama. A family statement reads: "John was a loving husband, father and son. He was my hero. An avid fisherman and hunter, he enjoyed camping, four wheeling, and was a football and baseball fan. His favorite teams were the 49ers and the Yankees. John will be greatly missed." John was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country during Vietnam. Born October 6, 1956 in Queens, N.Y., she was 48 years old. She lived in Gardiner for the past 27 years. Lynn was a unique and compassionate person. Her interests included flowers, travel, painting and her cats. The love we feel in our hearts for Lynn will never be diminished. Survivors include her daughter, Sabitri Pantoja and her husband, Philip Pantoja; her three sons: Khem Sookhlall and his wife, Babita Sookhlall, Mike Sookhlall and Stanley Sookhlall and his wife, Janeth; her brother, Bisessar Perasaud; her grandchildren: Nadira Persaud, Tania Pantoja, Claudio Pantoja, Nalini Sookhlall, Sarah Sookhlall, Andrew Sookhlall, Chayene Sookhlall, Glachar Sookhlall, Vindy Sookhlall, Prya Sookhlall, Amanda Boodhan, Mike Boodhan, Vanita Boodhan, and Vikesh Boodhan; her great-grandchild, Emma Nicole Persaud; her nieces and nephews: Indi, Roshanie, Shalini, Nalini, Kamini and Narine. Valentino, Richard Richard Valentino, a longtime resident of Warwick, N.Y. and recently a resident of Palm Coast, Fla., passed away at Florida Hospital, Flagler on August 8, 2005. The son of the late Salvatore and Jennie (Cecere) Valentino, he was born April 7, 1940 in New York, N.Y. Richard retired from the New York City Police Department after 20 years of service. Richard was also a veteran of the US Navy, serving on the USS Keppler. Richard was a member of the Italian American Club of Palm Coast. Richie loved to cook, listen to The Three Tenors and eat good food. He also enjoyed bowling and walking on the beach. Richard was a loving father and grandfather. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by family and friends. A family statement reads, "Richie was a person who enjoyed life. He relished in gathering with family and friends. He always wore a smile and was quick with a joke. His laughter was infectious. He was a faithful and boisterous fan of the Yankees and the Giants. He will be remembered with fond and loving memories by family and friends." He is survived by his wife Geraldine; his daughter Suzanne Jones and her husband Douglas of Sugar Loaf; four sons Michael Valentino of Newburgh, Jon Valentino and his wife Lauren of Chester, Gary Valentino of Warwick and Richard Valentino and his wife Danielle of Warwick; six grandchildren, Daniel Valentino, Hannah Jones, Skyler Valentino, Christopher Valentino, Isabella Valentino and Patricia Valentino; three brothers Joseph Valentino of Palm Coast, Fla., Robert Valentino of Dallas, Texas and Ronald Valentino of Las Vegas, Nev. Richard is also survived by four stepdaughters Gina Gsegnet of New Windsor, N.Y., Laurie Ruccatano of East Newark, N.J., Jennifer Decker and Patricia Reid both of Palm Coast, Fla., their husband and their children along with many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held in Palm Coast, Fla. at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Richard's life which will be hosted by his children at Caf‚ Amore in Hewitt, N.J. on Sunday, August 21, at 12 noon.
