"Robbie" Formerly of Maybrook, N.Y. Robert H. "Robbie" Brown Jr., a retiree of the O.C. Sheriff's Department, died Thursday, August 18, 2005 in Boynton Beach, Fla. He was 67. The son Robert H. (Sonny) and Gertrude Bullis Brown Sr., he was born February 5, 1938 in Goshen, N.Y. He served as the Mayor of Maybrook from 1977 to 1990 - a job he truly loved. Since 2000, he served as president of the Mirror Lakes Homeowners Association of Boynton Beach, Fla. He was a trustee on the Maybrook Village Board; Maybrook Police Department; past president of the Maybrook Fire Department; Town of Montgomery Republican Committee; first vice chairman of the Orange County Republican Committee; 1988 Delegate to the Republican National Convention, New Orleans, La.; chairman of the Orange County Ranking Committee who was responsible for handing out federal grants; volunteer for the Town of Montgomery Meals on Wheels; member of the Trade Winds Homeowner's Association, Boynton Beach, Fla.; Church of the Assumption, Maybrook; and St. Matthew's R.C. Church, Boynton Beach, Fla. He was a proud supporter of Maybrook's Boy Scout Marching Troup #236 and the Maybrook Little League Program. Survivors include his wife, Anna T. Panaro Brown at home; one daughter, Linda Brown Mulcahy and husband, Tom, of Indianapolis, Ind.; two granddaughters, Emma Rose and Fiona Brown Mulcahy of Indianapolis, Ind.; two brothers, George Brown and wife, Janet, of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Curtis Brown and wife, Nita, of Pine Bush; one sister, Carole Jennings and husband, Ivan, of Maybrook; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Cavello, Rose (Mandelino) Rose Cavello of Glen Wild, died on Saturday August 20, 2005 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was 80. The daughter of the late John and Philomenia Fennimore Mandelino, she was born May 15, 1925 in Brooklyn, N.Y. The widow of John Cavello, they were married for 45 years. Rose leaves behind her four loving children, three daughters: Roseann Spinelli, Phyllis Cavello, and Janice Burns, all of Glen Wild; one son, John Cavello and his wife, Kathy, also of Glen Wild; 11 siblings; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one granddaughter, Dawn Marie Burns; one brother, and two sisters. Forgione, Lynn Carol Owner of Blooming Grove Florist Lynn Forgione, owner of Blooming Grove Florist, Salisbury Mills, N.Y. and a claims examiner for Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, Middletown, N.Y., died Friday, August 19, 2005 from ovarian cancer. Born October 6, 1956 in Queens, N.Y., she was 48 years old. She lived in Gardiner for the past 27 years. Lynn was a unique and compassionate person. Her interests included flowers, travel, painting and her cats. The love we feel in our hearts for Lynn will never be diminished. Lynn is survived by her husband Gregory Turbek; her parents Yolanda and Samuel Forgione; her brother Paul; her sister Diane and Andy Hildebrandt; her sister Judy and her husband Leslie Spivak and their children Emily and Joshua; her aunts Mary Delorenzo, Antoinette Italiano, Theresa and Vito Agueli and Uncle Nick Calvo. He was 91. Son of the late John Janks and Mary Sourhada Janks, he was born October 5, 1913 in Chicago, Ill. He was the widower of Ruth E. Reinecke Jenks. Survivors include his son, Harold W. Son of the late John and Mary Tompos Popp, he was born January 10, 1934 in the Bronx, N.Y. A family statement reads: "Bob was a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He was an avid N.Y. Yankee fan, and enjoyed hunting and fishing." Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a retired supervisor with Catania Brothers, and he also worked with Avis Car Rental. He was a former member of the Joe Parisi Bowling League. Mitchell Rubel, a longtime resident of Woodridge and a veteran of Vietnam, died at home on Friday August 19, 2005. He was 51. He is survived by his parents, Leo and Cecile Rosenberg Rubel, at home in Woodridge; his two sisters, Janet Borgia of West Virginia and Joy McGraph of Liberty; his brother, Jeff Rubel of West Virginia, and several nieces and nephews. Schnell Sr., Frank Frank Schnell, Sr., a Rockland County native, passed away peacefully at Nyack Hospital on August 20, 2005. Frank was born November 24, 1919 in Spring Valley, N.Y. to Charles E. and Ethel Smith Schnell, whose Rockland roots can be traced prior to the Revolutionary War. Frank graduated from Hackensack High School and enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1941. He proudly served his country in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. After his discharge, Frank attended Syracuse University where he received both a B.A. and M.A. degrees in Education. Upon graduation from Syracuse, Frank married Noreen Callahan on July 7, 1951, and accepted his first teaching position the same year in the Spring Valley school system, first as an English teacher and later as an administrative assistant to the Superintendent. In the late 1950's, he became assistant principal at the then Haverstraw/Stony Point High School. Frank retired in 1978 from the North Rockland School District, and even today his legacy as an innovative, caring and trusted educator and friend to students and colleagues alike survives him. It has been said of Mr. Schnell by one of his former students that, "Mr. Schnell saw in me my potential before anyone else did." In retirement, Frank did volunteer work for the county's first executive, John Grant, and later did research for the county's archivist. One of his greatest joys was his family. He is survived by his wife, Noreen; his daughter, Franceen DeCicco and her husband, Joseph; his daughter, Kathleen Baker and her husband, Carl; his son, Frank Jr., and his son, Timothy and his wife, Kathy. Frank is predeceased by his son, Christopher; his parents, Charles E. and Ethel M. Schnell; two brothers, Edward and Harold; and an infant sister, Frances. His grandchildren and his great-grandchildren were the delight of his later years. Patricia Ann (Welch) Tomaselli, of Portland, Maine, passed away August 20, 2005 with family and friends by her side. She was born in Portland, Maine on September 27, 1935, the daughter of Gordon and Alice Welch (nee: St. Clair). Patti was educated in the Portland School System. She raised her family in Warwick, N.Y., and worked with special needs children in the Warwick School System. She returned to Portland in 1984 and was one of the first women in New England to receive a heart transplant in 1985. Patricia is survived by her mother, Alice Welch; a brother, William Welch and his wife, Elizabeth, of Florida; a sister, Mary Jean McNally and her husband, Norman, of Windham; a sister-in-law, Linda Welch of Florida; five children: Gordon Tomaselli and wife, Charlene, of Maryland, Frances Melder and husband, Joseph, of New York, Alice Warner and husband, Jeffrey, of South Portland, Rudolph Tomaselli Jr. and wife, Bernadette, of New York, and James Tomaselli and wife, Stephanie, of New York; eight grandchildren: Samantha and Steven Laroe, Jennifer and Jeffrey Warner, Caitlin Reilly, Matthew Tomaselli, Travis and Wyatt Tomaselli; six step-grandchildren: Brynn and Meredith Melder, Sarah and Emily Campbell, and Jennifer and Kristen Ochs; a step-great-grandchild, Ethan Snyder; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Valentino, Richard Richard Valentino, a longtime resident of Warwick, N.Y. and recently a resident of Palm Coast, Fla., passed away at Florida Hospital, Flagler on August 8, 2005. The son of the late Salvatore and Jennie (Cecere) Valentino, he was born April 7, 1940 in New York, N.Y. Richard retired from the New York City Police Department after 20 years of service. Richard was also a veteran of the US Navy, serving on the USS Keppler. Richard was a member of the Italian American Club of Palm Coast. Richie loved to cook, listen to The Three Tenors and eat good food. He also enjoyed bowling and walking on the beach. Richard was a loving father and grandfather. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by family and friends. A family statement reads, "Richie was a person who enjoyed life. He relished in gathering with family and friends. He always wore a smile and was quick with a joke. His laughter was infectious. He was a faithful and boisterous fan of the Yankees and the Giants. He will be remembered with fond and loving memories by family and friends." He is survived by his wife Geraldine; his daughter Suzanne Jones and her husband Douglas of Sugar Loaf; four sons Michael Valentino of Newburgh, Jon Valentino and his wife Lauren of Chester, Gary Valentino of Warwick and Richard Valentino and his wife Danielle of Warwick; six grandchildren, Daniel Valentino, Hannah Jones, Skyler Valentino, Christopher Valentino, Isabella Valentino and Patricia Valentino; three brothers Joseph Valentino of Palm Coast, Fla., Robert Valentino of Dallas, Texas and Ronald Valentino of Las Vegas, Nev.
