She was 88. The daughter of Dominic and Maria Altobelli, she was born August 22, 1917 in Italy. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in New Windsor, N.Y. Survivors include one daughter, Lucy Montone and her husband, Steve, of New Windsor; one brother, Anthony Altobelli of Boca Raton, Fla.; one sister, Frances DeLosa of Pleasantville, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Lucia Pixley and her husband, Whiting, of Newburgh, and Danielle Montone of New Windsor; and many loving family and friends. "Tipper" Formerly of Highland Falls, N.Y. George J. "Tipper" Hall, a retired Supervisor of Grounds and Maintenance at U.S.M.A. in West Point, N.Y., died Friday, August 26, 2005 at Fox Memorial Hospital in Oneonta, N.Y. He was 81. The son of the late George Hall and Mary Monagle Hall, he was born October 18, 1923 in Highland Falls, N.Y. He was a resident of Highland Falls for 63 years prior to moving to Goodyear Lake in Oneonta, N.Y. for 18 years. Mr. Hall was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He was a member of the Highland Falls V.F.W. Post #663. He is survived by his wife, Ruth E. Lewis Hall of Goodyear Lake, Oneonta, N.Y.; two sons, Dick W. Hall and wife, Susie, of Highland Falls, and Michael J. Petito, Olga "Pat" Olga "Pat" Petito, a retired Supervisor for the Non-Foods Department at Shop-Rite in Montague, N.J., and lifelong resident of the area, died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at the Orange Regional Medical Center in Middletown, N.Y. She was 81. Daughter of the late Frederick and Pauline Pelek-Foriss, she was born October 3, 1923 in Everettsville, W.Va. She was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Port Jervis, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary V.F.W. Post #161 in Port Jervis. The widow of Rocco A. Petito, she is survived by one daughter, Roxanne Mesiti and her husband, Guilio; one son, Michael Petito and his wife, Patty; his grandchildren: Ami Lemieaux and her husband, Bill, January Mesiti and Anthony Mesiti; one great-grandson, Jesse; one sister, Kathleen Sheldon; her longtime best friend, Peggy Calben; and several nieces and nephews. Rudy of Warwick, a lifelong resident of the area, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2005 at Schervier Pavilion in Warwick, N.Y. She was 87. The daughter of the late Henry and Gustina Luft, she was born December 29, 1917 in Warwick, N.Y. She married Jacob R. Rudy, who predeceased her in 1959, and later married Ted Lavinski, who also predeceased her. Helen was a member of the Kingdom Hall in New Milford. A family statement reads: "Mom was a devoted mother and grandmother who took great pride in her family. Her passion of cooking was enjoyed by everyone, as well as her keen wit and love of her family. She will be missed by all." She is survived by her six children: Marilyn Rickey of Vernon, N.J., Barbara Schofield of Greenville, Jacob Roger Rudy of Florida, N.Y., Gary Rudy of Pine Island, Brian Rudy and Thomas Rudy, both of Warwick. She is also survived by her 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; her brother, Kenneth Luft of Warwick; and sisters, Clara Henry of Warwick and Amelia Predmore of Vernon, N.J. She was predeceased by her son, Robert Richard Rudy. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours. Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family. Seyler, a lifelong resident of the area, died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at Middletown Park Manor in Middletown, N.Y. He was 98. Son of Jacob Seyler and Julia Jumpp Seyler, he was born August 17, 1907 in Stony Ford, N.Y. A retired carpenter at the former Horton Memorial Hospital in Middletown, N.Y., he was a 50-year member of the First Congregational Church in Middletown. He was also an avid stock car race fan. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice VanPelt Seyler, of Middletown; one daughter, June B. Angus of Middletown; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; a daughter-in-law, Virginia Seyler of Middletown; a sister-in-law, Grace Seyler of Oxford, Conn; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Robert Seyler; a daughter, Marie Wagner; a great-granddaughter, Tabitha Joslin; four sisters and three brothers. "Ally" Sorice, a lifelong resident of the area, died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York, N.Y. He was 58. The owner of Tuxedo Wine & Liquors in Tuxedo, N.Y., he was the son of the late Aniello Sorice and Agusta Dimino Sorice, born June 28, 1947 in Tuxedo, N.Y. He was a member of the Tuxedo Chamber of Commerce and the American Dressage Association. A family statement reads: "Ally can best be remembered as having the kindest of hearts; his deep love of children, and his uncanny ability to give advice to others as they proceeded on their own path of life. His wife, Judith, and family extend loving appreciation to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital for extending Ally's life with them when he received a heart transplant in 1996. And it is with sincere and loving gratitude to Dr. Mario Deng, his colleagues and the nurses at Columbia for fighting so hard to give Ally back to us. Dr. Deng's gentle humanity, touch and concern helped Ally pass on to God with dignity and peace." He is survived by his wife, Judith A. Schmitt Sorice of Tuxedo; two daughters, Danielle Sorice of Middletown and Brooke Sorice of Sugar Loaf; two sisters, Maryanne Wesseldine of Tuxedo and Carol Hobart of Tuxedo Park, and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2005 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's in Tuxedo, 10 Fox Hill Rd., Tuxedo Park, N.Y. with the Rev. Dr. Edwin H.
