Formerly of Middletown, N.Y. Ralph E. Markle, 83, of Northridge and Los Angeles, Calif., was born in Middletown, N.Y. on February 12, 1922. He died Friday, August 26, 2005. A retiree of the Lockheed Airplane Company. He was married 58 years to Jo Ann Mitchell also formerly of Middletown, N.Y., and they have four sons. Cremation will take place at the Riverside California National Veterans Cemetery. A memorial will be held at their home on Sunday, September 4, 2005. "Bill" Olver, Jr., retired owner of Bill's Auto in Milford, Pa. and lifelong area resident, died Sunday, August 28, 2005 at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis, N.Y. He was 58. Son of Frances Brown Olver and the late William R. Olver, Sr., he was born November 17, 1946 in Port Jervis, N.Y. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Vietnam; member and past Chief of the Mill Rift Fire Department; member of the N.R.A.; and a member of the Pennsylvania Fish and Game Commission. He is survived by his mother, Frances Brown Olver of Matamoras, Pa.; one son, Marshall Dane; one daughter, Mary; two brothers, Thomas Olver and his wife, JoAnn of Flanders, N.J., and Russell Olver and his wife, Cheryl, of Milford, Pa.; and three sisters: Jane Storm and her husband, Robert, of E. Stroudsburg, Pa., Holly Hite and her husband, Harold, of Port Jervis, and Connie Ast and her husband, Jeff, of Sparrowbush. Graveside services and burial will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Matamoras, Pa. "Hollywood" Marianna A. "Hollywood" Ronca, of Cuddebackville and a student at Orange County Community College, died Sunday, August 28, 2005 in the Town of Deerpark. She was 18. She was born August 8, 1987 in Denver, CO, the daughter of Peter J. and Eva M. Mrozek Ronca. Marianna was a 2005 High Honor Roll Graduate of Port Jervis High School where she played on the Varsity Volleyball Team. She also worked at Filene's in Middletown and The Cornucopia Restaurant in Huguenot. A family statement read: "She will be dearly missed by her family and friends." Smith, Donald L. Donald L. Smith, 81, a lifelong resident of Matamoras, Pa., died Sunday, August 28, 2005 at the Milford Senior Care Facility in Milford, Pa. A retired Foreman for Crescent Silverplate in Port Jervis, Don also retired from the Delaware Valley School District; and the Water Department for the Borough of Matamoras, Pa., and from the Milford Valley Convalescent Home. Son of the late Danile and Lavina Smith Smith, he was born April 19, 1924 in Port Jervis, N.Y. He was a member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Matamoras, Pa.; he was a longtime Eucharistic Minister and usher of St. Joseph's; and member of the Holy Name Society of St. Joseph's. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific. He was a member of the U.S.S. Saratoga Association, CV3, U.S. Navy; and a member of Roosa-Fleming V.F.W. Post #161 in Port Jervis. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Skelenger Smith, at home; one daughter, Susan P. Strechay and her husband, Robert, of Parsippany, N.J.; three grandchildren: Robert Strechay and his wife, Kristen, Daniel and Joseph Strechay; and one great-grandson, Samuel R. Strechay. "Ally" Sorice, a lifelong resident of the area, died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York, N.Y. He was 58. The owner of Tuxedo Wine & Liquors in Tuxedo, N.Y., he was the son of the late Aniello Sorice and Agusta Dimino Sorice, born June 28, 1947 in Tuxedo, N.Y. He was a member of the Tuxedo Chamber of Commerce and the American Dressage Association. A family statement reads: "Ally can best be remembered as having the kindest of hearts; his deep love of children, and his uncanny ability to give advice to others as they proceeded on their own path of life. His wife, Judith, and family extend loving appreciation to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital for extending Ally's life with them when he received a heart transplant in 1996. And it is with sincere and loving gratitude to Dr. Mario Deng, his colleagues and the nurses at Columbia for fighting so hard to give Ally back to us. Dr. Deng's gentle humanity, touch and concern helped Ally pass on to God with dignity and peace." He is survived by his wife, Judith A. Schmitt Sorice of Tuxedo; two daughters, Danielle Sorice of Middletown and Brooke Sorice of Sugar Loaf; two sisters, Maryanne Wesseldine of Tuxedo and Carol Hobart of Tuxedo Park, and several nieces and nephews. Trisdorfer, Pauline Pauline Trisdorfer, of Bayside, N.Y., died August 29, 2005 at Calvary Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born Pauline Sussman, October 20, 1919 in Brooklyn to Beryl and Frima Sussman, the youngest of five children. She was 85 years old. Pauline was an avid reader and loved theatre, art, music and traveling. She was very proud to have gone back to college at 56 and graduated Magna Cum Laude. She was a beautiful, loving woman who had many interests. Her whole life she was a role model of courage and determination. No matter what the circumstances, she "never gave up." She is survived by her only daughter, Emily Sheehan and her husband William of Liberty as well as her beloved grandson Billy of Liberty. She is also survived by her sister Dorothy and many special nieces, nephews and cousins. Pauline was predeceased by her first husband of 45 years, George Balaban. She was blessed to find love again and was also predeceased by her second husband of 18 years, Austin Trisdorfer. She was also predeceased by her brother Chick Sussman and her sisters Gussie Nicholas, Rose Paer and Tanya Wachs.
