Robert C. Adee, of Warwick, formerly of Briarcliff Manor, died November 29, 2005 at his late residence. He was 83. Born on December 17, 1921 in Port Washington, N.Y., he was the son of Chester Adee and May Coulson Adee. He was married to the late Margaret McQuillan. Mr. Adee served as a First Lt. with the Air Force during WW II. He was a bank examiner for the state of New York. He was a volunteer fireman with Briarcliff Hook and Ladder Company for 30 years and had served as treasurer. He was a member of St. Stephens RC Church, Warwick. He is survived by his son, Patrick Adee of Warwick; his daughter, Jeannie Neubauer of Warwick; three grandchildren, George, Monica and Gabriella. He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Adee. Laurel VFW Post #8612 Auxiliary, Milford, Pa. The daughter of Dominick and Margaret (Cicczardi) Cozza, she was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on December 26, 1922. She was married to Pasquale Alfano on November 7, 1943 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Mr. Alfano died on October 25, 1990. Hawkins and Laura Simmons Hawkins, she was born January 22, 1916 in England. She was the widow of Henry G. Carradine. She is survived by a daughter: Sheila McManus & her husband Ed of Monticello; a son: Dale McCollum & his wife Hetty of Wales, England; six grandchildren: Julie, Susanne, Kim, Craig, Dean and Luann; four great-grandchildren: Casey, Hailey, Julia & Lukas. Conrad III, formerly of Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y. passed away on Nov. 21 2005 in Bay Pines, Fla. at age 78. The eldest son of the late Madeline and Edgar K. Conrad Jr. of Saddle River, N.J., he was predeceased by his brother, Robert. His third brother, Donald and his wife and family reside in Florida and his sister-in-law, Virginia DeTommaso and her husband, Fred are also in Florida. Ed attended the Citadel and Rutgers University. He and his late wife, Lorraine served in the armed forces. He was a branch manager of Olivetti-Underwood of Newburgh, N.Y. and a retired supervisor at West Point, N.Y. Ed is survived by six children and their families: Jeanne Conrad Beers and husband, Donald of Montgomery, N.Y.; Deborah Conrad Goff and her husband, John of Newburgh; Patricia McCabe and her husband, Vance of Spring Hill, Fla.; Margaret Hodges and her husband, CMSGT Robert of Hawaii; Richard Conrad and Christopher Conrad of Florida and several grandchildren. The son of the late Patrick Doyle and Bridget Rudden Doyle, he was born December 19, 1926 in Co. Longford, Ireland. Patrick was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Korea from 1951 to 1953. He attended both St. Mary & St. Andrew Church in Ellenville and St. Joseph's Church in Wurtsboro. He is survived by several area friends including the Arango family of Spring Glen. She was a native of Middletown and a resident of Cocoa for the past five years coming from Titusville, Fla. She was a retired owner and bookkeeper for a sand and gravel company, member of Eastern Star, Walden, N.Y., past treasurer of her Homeowners Association, Captain's Quarters, New Smyrna, Fla., and lifetime bingo player. Lillian Haddard of Gardiner, N.Y., a dental assistant for Dr. J. Rogow of N. Bergen, N.J. until her retirement in 1974, and a 17-year area resident, died on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at her home. She was 97. The daughter of the late John and Amy Howell Duvall, she was born on July 8, 1908 in Auburn, Neb. She served in the US Army during World War II and received the WAC Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. She lived in South Dakota and Arkansas before moving to New York after her discharge. She held a certification as a Dental Assistant from Suffolk County Community College and was the past president of the Suffolk County Dental Assistants Society. Mrs. Haddard is the widow of Robert Theodore Haddard who died on November 8, 1964. Survivors include her sons: Robert John and his wife, Linda, of Shoreham, N.Y., and Richard Theodore and his wife, Heidi, of Gardiner, N.Y.; and grandchildren: Caralynn, Rebecca, Robert, Whitney, Aubrey and Everett. Henry, Sister Marian Frederick Sister Marian Frederick Henry, OP, of Dominican Convent, Sparkill, N.Y., died on November 29, 2005 in Siena Hall Infirmary, Dominican Convent, 175 Route 340, Sparkill, N.Y. Born in Chester, N.Y. on September 8, 1907, Isabelle Henry was the daughter of James and Margaret Keegan Henry. Isabelle entered the Dominican Congregation of Our Lady of the Rosary in Sparkill on February 2, 1935, and became known as Sister Marian Frederick. Sister Marian Frederick professed her first vows in 1936 and final vows in 1941. Sister Marian Frederick earned a BS in Education from Fordham University in 1954 and was NYS certified for grades K-6. During her professional life, Sister Marian Frederick taught elementary school in the Archdiocese of New York and Diocese of Syracuse serving in St. Columba, Chester, N.Y. (1937-1947); St. Paul, Norwich, N.Y. (1947-1950); St. John Chrysostom, Bronx, N.Y. (1950-1952) Sacred Heart, Suffern (1952-1968); St. Mary, Fulton, N.Y. (1968-1972); Sacred Heart (1972-1982). She was Sacristan at Sacred Heart Parish, Suffern, N.Y. from 1982-1985. Upon retiring, she offered local community service at the Dominican Convent, Sparkill. The son of the late Leo Longwell, Sr. and Patricia Alberts Baggatta, he was born on August 30, 1957 in Middletown. He was a volunteer for the WPDH Road Warriors Annual Muscular Dystrophy Fund Drive. Von Ignatius of Port Jervis died Monday, November 28, 2005 in Matamoras, Pa. He was 82. He was born November 3, 1923 in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., the son of the late Arthur and the late Catherine Walsh Von Ignatius. He was the widower of the late June Shirley Von Ignatius. They were married June 28, 1947 and were wed for 53 years prior to her death in January of 2001. He retired in 1989 from the Port Jervis Housing Authority, Port Jervis, where he served as Executive Director. Walter also proudly served his Country in the United States Navy during World War II on a PT Boat in Squadron 30. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Port Jervis where he served as a Church Elder. Walter was a 1963 Graduate of Orange County Community College. In the 1980 s he won the Federal Energy Efficiency Award for his exceptional work at the Port Jervis Housing Authority. This award was one of only two given out nationwide to local agencies at that time. A family statement read: "Walter loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was very proud of his service to his country in World War II and loved to attend his PT Boaters reunions that were held around the country yearly. He also proudly served his church for many, many years. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him." Surviving are son: Walter L. Walling, Leonard Leonard Walling, a retired ship captain for the New York State Conservation Department and of Ellenville, died on Monday, November 28, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie. He was 93. The son of Joseph and Floretta Moebos Walling, he was born on January 20, 1912 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Leonard was a WW II Veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid boater and was a past commander of the Captree Power Squadron and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He taught safe boating for both organizations as well as for the NYS Conservation Department. After retiring from the NYS DEC and relocating to Ellenville in 1971, he owned and operated a small campground and drove a bus for Josephine Rampe, for which he will always be remembered. He lived to help others and although he was out of his element for the last few years, those who had the opportunity to know him, sit and talk with him or just be in hs presence, will never forget "Lenny." He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Doris at home; five children Leonard V. Walling and his wife Patricia, Donald E. Walling and his wife Celesta, Doris B. Chervenie, Christine Lake and her husband Michael, Evelyn Kaczmarek and her husband Richard; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, Keith, Scott, David, Timothy and Todd; and several great-grandchildren. Warner of Pine Bush, N.Y., affectionately known to all as "Grandma", a 16-year resident of the area, died Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at home. She was 91. The daughter of Fredren W. and Julia Price VanKleeck, she was born February 4, 1914 in Shavertown, Del. Velma was a former 50-year resident of Cragsmoor and wrote the column, "On the Mountain" for the Ellenville Journal. She was also a member of the Cragsmoor Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. She was the widow of Franklin Warner who she married in September of 1932. Survivors include her daughter, Diane Decker, and her husband, Donald, at home; daughter-in-law, Colleen Warner of Kamiah, Idaho; grandson, Todd Warner of Milwaukee, Wis.; sister, Ida Wilhelm, of Napanoch, N.Y.; brother, Richard VanKleeck, of Arlington, and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sons: Franklin Warner Jr. and Fredren Warner; her brothers: Francis VanKleeck, Earl VanKleeck and Robert VanKleeck; and sisters: Myra Beilman and Myrtie Meir. Visitation will be on Friday, December 2, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank Street, Walden. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 3 at 10 a.m. at the Funeral Home. The Rev. James VanHouten will officiate. Cremation will be in Cedar Hill Crematory in Newburgh.
