Cieslewitz Jr., John L. John L. Cieslewitz Jr., a retired dairy farmer and lifelong resident of Bullville, died Thursday, December 1, 2005 at Orange Regional Medical Center at Horton, Middletown. He was 89. He was the son of Polish immigrants, Julia Symczak Cieslewicz and John Cieslewicz Sr.; who came to this country and established a small dairy farm on King Road outside of Bullville in 1915. It was here that John was born on June 22, 1916 and grew up farming with his family. As a child, he walked through the family fields with his younger sisters and brothers to attend a one room schoolhouse on Lybolt Road, where he obtained his education through the 7th grade. In 1941, he took over the family farm. He met Doris Mae Baker of Winterton in 1942 and they were married on October 22, 1946 at the Mt. Carmel Church in Middletown. Together and with the help of their three children, they continued to operate the farm, now called Alfa-Lad Farm for 43 years, until they retired in 1989, when their son, John, took the business over. John loved his farm, the land and his animals. He was an outdoorsman and especially enjoyed the times he spent at his hunting camp in Forestburg. He was very attached to his church. He loved history and became very involved in politics, especially in the Town of Wallkill. John was very proud of his Polish heritage and loved listening to his polka music. John was a lifelong member of St. Paul's R.C. Church in Bullville, where he was a former president of the Holy Name Society and former head usher; he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Middletown Council #486; former committeeman for Pine Bush Agway; past president of the Orange County Farm Bureau; member of the Holstein Friesian Assoc., a member of the White Oak Hunting Club, Forestburg; a 50-year member of the Circleville Volunteer Fire Company, former chairman of the Town of Wallkill Democratic Committee, former vice chairman of the Orange County Democratic Committee; he was a member of an Honor Guard for President Lyndon B. Johnson in 1966 for the dedication of the Community General Hospital in Ellenville; a 25-year member of the Town of Wallkill Zoning Board and a member of the Hudson Valley Polonaise Society in Goshen. John is survived by his beloved wife, Doris at home; two daughters Betty Sutton and her partner Bob Benjamin of Hedgesville, West Va., and Mary Ristau of Pine Bush; his son John of Bullville; three brothers Theodore "Ted" of Wantagh, L.I., Joseph and his wife Stacia of Binghamton and Steve and his wife Mary of Walden; three sisters Lucy Bastek of Middletown, Anna Dibble of Cadosia and Sophia Schoonmaker of Westtown, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents John and Julia, his stepmother Kunegunda Olewski Cieslewicz, infant brother Stanley and infant sister Mary, his sister-in-law Mary Cieslewicz and three brothers-in-law John Bastek, George Schoonmaker and Willard Dibble. De Camp, of Naples, Fla. and formerly of White Lake, died on Sunday November 27, 2005 in Naples, Fla. She was 77. She was born in Brooklyn on March 31, 1928 to the late David and Janet Anderson. She was the widow of Frank De Camp. She was retired from the Rhulen Agency and Church Insurance Companies. She is survived by 1 sister Marion Anderson of Woodhaven; 1 daughter Marsha Gerow of Fort Myers, Fla.; and 2 sons Wayne De Camp of Glenpool, Okla. and Dennis De Camp of Claremore, Okla.; as well as 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. DeChiara, a retired mechanic for ConEdison, Indian Point, Peekskill, and longtime area resident, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005 at the Florida Fish Memorial Hospital, Orange City, Fla. He was 77. The son of the late Louis and Louise Pigluiccia DeChiara, he was born September 7, 1928 in the Bronx. He was the widower of Ana Laureano DeChiara. He served his country during the Korean War in the US Army. Louis enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and the Foxwoods many times. Survivors include two sons, Louis J. She was 94. The daughter of the late Frank Flagler Young and Augusta Tuthill Young, she was born September 22, 1911 in Roseton. She attended school in Newburgh and business school in New York City. She was a longtime member of the Powelton Club, member of the Union Presbyterian Church and active with the St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary where she served as a volunteer. She was the widow of Lawson H. Miller who died July 1979. She remarried July 6, 1995 to Joseph W. Ligo in Slippery Rock, Pa. and resided at Regency Oaks in Clearwater, Fla. until his death in 1999. At that time, she returned to her home in Newburgh, where she resided until her death. She is survived by a great-niece, Jennifer Young and a great-nephew, Joshua Young; and dear friends. She was 78. The daughter of the late Sarah and Morris Chakofsky, she was born in Brooklyn on March 25, 1927. She was the widow of Bernard Teitelbaum and the mother of the late Irene Harris. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Hal and Jennifer Teitelbaum of Bethel, N.Y.; her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Harriet Chakofsky of Florida; her grandsons Adam Harris, Seth Harris and Joshua Teitelbaum; and several nieces. Known as "Gishie" to her friends and family, she was active in her husband's accounting business for many years. She was past president of the Sisterhood and Hadassah at Congregation Beth David in Lynbrook, N.Y. She grew up in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, but spent most summers in Sullivan County, N.Y., where her parents established the first bagel bakery in Monticello, and where she met her husband. In recent years, she was possibly best known as an advocate and cheerleader for the medical practice started by her son, Crystal Run Healthcare. He was 67. He was born December 31, 1937 in Chicago, Ill. the son of the late Lester and the late Ruth Miller VanNatter. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Von Ignatius of Port Jervis died Monday, November 28, 2005 in Matamoras, Pa. He was 82. He was born November 3, 1923 in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., the son of the late Arthur and the late Catherine Walsh Von Ignatius. He was the widower of the late June Shirley Von Ignatius. They were married June 28, 1947 and were wed for 53 years prior to her death in January of 2001. He retired in 1989 from the Port Jervis Housing Authority, Port Jervis, where he served as Executive Director. Walter also proudly served his Country in the United States Navy during World War II on a PT Boat in Squadron 30. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Port Jervis where he served as a Church Elder. Walter was a 1963 Graduate of Orange County Community College. In the 1980 s he won the Federal Energy Efficiency Award for his exceptional work at the Port Jervis Housing Authority. This award was one of only two given out nationwide to local agencies at that time. A family statement read: "Walter loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was very proud of his service to his country in World War II and loved to attend his PT Boaters reunions that were held around the country yearly. He also proudly served his church for many, many years. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him." Surviving are son: Walter L.
