Mr. Keith F. Brooks of Port Jervis, died Thursday, December 8, 2005 at home with his family by his side. He was 77. He was born April 27, 1928 in McAfee, N.J., the son of the late Frank and the late Frieda Carr Brooks. He worked in the Department of Public Works for the Town of Warwick, N.Y. He was a member and past treasurer for the Blue Ridge Beagle Club in Sussex, N.J. A family statement reads: "Dad's life was his family especially his children and grandchildren." Coveny, Martin Martin Coveny, an operations manager for Pipe Line, Inc. in Manhattan, died December 7, 2005 at O.R.M.C., Arden Hill Campus. He was 56. The son of Gerard Coveny and Mabel Reid Coveny, he was born December 2, 1949 in Brooklyn, N.Y. A family statement reads: "Martin was a good man. Remembered with love. What was most important to him was his wife, family and dog, Emma." Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Gail Leinwand Coveny of Washingtonville. They were married on September 16, 1980 in Florida. She is also survived by two brothers. There will be no visitation. Cremation will be private. Donations can be made to a charity of one's choice. Decker, Elsie Elizabeth Elsie Elizabeth Decker, a homemaker and lifelong resident of the area, died Thursday, December 8, 2005 at the Newport Hospital in Newport, Rhode Island. She was 81. The daughter of the late Melvin D. Price and Lillian May Thornhill Price, she was born September 10, 1924 in Monticello. She was the widow of Victor H. Decker Sr. She is survived by three sons: Paul Decker, Clarence "Brud" Decker & Victor Decker Jr., all of Monticello; two daughters: Jane Ann Mello of West Kingston, R.I. and Gloria Jean Goetjen of Washington; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two brothers: Charles Price and Irwin Price; and two sisters: Edith Messenger and Evelyn Strobele. Gibbons, a retired Chief Steward for American Hawaii Cruises, entered into rest on Wed. Dec. 7, 2005 at Castle Point Veteran Center, Beacon. Prior to his hospitalization he resided with his nephew Frank Glynn and his wife Linda in Walden. The son of the late Ernest and Helen E. cable Gibbons, he was born July 14, 1925 in Newburgh. Ernest served in the US Army Engineers in the Pacific Theatre of Operations during WW II. He attended NYU following his tour of duty prior to his Seafarers career. He is remembered by his family and many friends as a very gentle and caring man who had a great compassion for everyone and was loved by all who knew him. He is survived by his sisters: Elizabeth Nolan-Newburgh and Joan Conley & her husband James-Cornwall; and a brother John Gibbons & his wife Joyce-New Windsor; several nieces & nephews; and his beloved dog "Skipper." He was predeceased by his sisters, Dorothy Kopec, Edith Deans & Alice Rodriguez. King, of Plant City, Fla., a five-year resident of the area, formerly of Indianapolis, Ind. and truck driver having retired from Butler Trucking in Indiana, died Sunday, December 4, 2005 in Plant City, Fla. He was 74. The son of the late Edward R. and Hilda Jerowe King, he was born on January 28, 1931 in Indianapolis, Ind. He was the widower of Jessie Lee Bishop King. A veteran, Mr. King served in the US Air Force during peace time. Survivors include his children, Shar Clements, Kathy Cowan, Carol Harrell and Richard King; his brothers, George and Leon King; his sisters, Agnes Van Aken and Amy King; his companion, Marjorie Carter; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren;and many nieces and nephews. Kleinstuber, Ethel Ethel Kleinstuber of Sparrowbush, died Monday, December 5, 2005 at St. Joseph s Place in Port Jervis. She was 101. She was the first born of parents George and Mary Tupper Hoare, both born in England. The time was October 9, 1904 and the place was 12 St. Felix Street, Brooklyn, N.Y. where Ethel Hoare was born. Later, while living in Sparrowbush and working at Gillinder Brothers Glass Factory, Ethel met John Kleinstuber of 5 Pine Street in Port Jervis. They were married June 27, 1925 by the Minister of the Sparrowbush United Methodist Church, and resided at 5 Pine Street. On March 27, 1926, at that address she gave birth to her only child, Robert G. Kleinstuber who now resides in Lancaster, Pa. Ethel was predeceased by her husband John in 1952. She was a member of the Sparrowbush United Methodist Church and a longtime member and past president of one of their ladies groups called the C & M Builders. Ethel was a homemaker, a loving mother and an accomplished seamstress and dressmaker, having been taught these trades by her mother. Ethel is survived by her son: Robert G. Kleinstuber of Lancaster, Pa.; sister: Elizabeth Hoare of Sparrowbush; granddaughters: Ellen Louise Kleinstuber of Jeffersonville, Pa., Lynn Marie Fleming & her husband H. Lachterman, Milton Formerly of Ellenville, N.Y. Milton Lachterman, a former fifth grade teacher in the Fallsburg School System for 10 years and elementary principal in Ellenville Central School for 25, passed away in Carrollton, Texas on December 7, 2005 of ALS. He was 73. Milton was born on September 28, 1932 in Dairyland, N.Y., the son of Jacob and Sadie Lachterman. Milton was also a Counselor at Woodbourne and Sullivan Correction Facilities, a member of Woodbourne Fire Dept. and a member of the Woodbourne First Aid Squad, and was also a member of the Ellenville Noon Day Club and The Ellenville Elks. He is survived by his wife Wilhema at home in Texas; his three daughters Reni Parker of Frisco, Texas, Michelle Weiner of Plano, Texas, and Jamie Villarreal of The Colony, Texas; seven grandchildren; as well as a sister Toby Kross of Macon, Ga. and his nieces and nephews. Lynch, Elizabeth "Betty" Born March 31, 1910, Paterson, N.J. Retired attorney Betty Lynch, one of the few women attorneys of her era, died on December 7, 2005 at the age of 95 in Suffern, N.Y. of natural causes. She is survived by her son Jay Lynch of Mahwah, N.J.; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Her son Harry passed away in 2004. Her husband Prof. Arthur Lynch predeceased her in 2000 after 67 years of marriage. They met in Greenwood Lake, N.Y. during the prohibition era and were married in 1932. She graduated from Trinity College in 1932 as the Poet Laureate, and continued to publish poetry for the remainder of her life. She also was an avid painter and photographer. She resided in Brooklyn, N.Y. and Tenafly, N.J. before retiring to Greenwood Lake, N.Y. and later to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Her husband was a trial lawyer and law professor at St. John's University in New York City. Betty entered St. John's Law School while she was in her 40s. She had the privilege of being a student in her husband's class during law school. (She did not receive an A, apparently there was anonymous grading). During the course of her studies at St. John's Law, she was one of only a handful of women in her graduating class. Upon her graduation from law school in 1954, she joined her husband in private practice under the firm name of Lynch & Lynch. Her son, Harry, later joined the firm. Markel, Elisabeth Elisabeth Markel, a longtime area resident, died Wednesday, December 7, 2005, at her home in Circleville. She was 80 years old. The daughter of the late Stefan and Sara Muller she was born on April 1, 1925 in Romania. Elisabeth immigrated to the United States in 1961; here she excelled at gardening, cooking, and baking. She will be remembered as a generous woman, who enjoyed helping her neighbors with her many skills and talents. She cherished children, especially her grandchildren. Elisabeth is survived by her five loving children, Richard Markel and his wife, Theresa of Riverhead, Robert Markel of Gainsville, Fla., Anneliese Markel of Bethlehem, Pa., Werner Markel and his wife Adrienne of Circleville and Michael Markel and his wife, Dawn of Carlisle, Pa.; 14 beloved grandchildren, Caroline, Robert Jr., Alexa, Denise, Amie, Lori, John, Stephen, Christina, Jacqueline, Kimberely, Kaylah, Leeanne and Alisa; as well as several nieces and nephews. Ruth was a member of Meadow Hill Reformed Church, a tireless volunteer for Meals on Wheels of Greater Newburgh, and a Senior Board Member of the Newburgh Day Nursery. She was the widow of William E. Morgan who died June 12, 1983. Survivors include her son, William Morgan of Carlisle, Mass., her daughter, Ruth Morgan of New Providence, N.J., a grandson, William E. Morgan, IV of San Fransisco, Calif. and a granddaughter, Kristen E. Morgan of Carlisle, and several nieces and nephews. Wolfrum, of Newburgh, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2005 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh. He was 79. Son of the late Edward and Tressa Murray Wolfrum, he was born on May 29, 1926. He married Marion F. Scott Wolfrum on October 3, 1981, who survives at home. Thomas was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Chapel. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired from the New York Telephone Company after 43 years of service. He was inducted to the City of Newburgh Fast Pitch Hall of Fame on May 18, 2003, and he was also a member of the United Commercial Travelers of America. Thomas was also a Charter Life Member of Winona Lake Engine Co. #2, where he served as chief from 1959-1963. He was a member of the Orange Lake Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners since 1964, he was currently serving as Chairman of the Board of Fire Commissioners, Orange Lake Fire District; member of the NYS Association of Fire Districts since 1963, a life-member of Orange County Fire Chiefs Association, where he was a past financial secretary; life-member of the Orange County Fireman's Association, life-member of the Hudson Valley Volunteer Fireman's Association, where he was a member of the Royal Order of Red Vests, and a member of the Fireman's Association of NYS. In addition to his loving wife of 24 years, he is survived by his four daughters, Terry Martin and her husband Jerry of Beacon, June Allison and her husband Kevin of Beacon, Donna Gates and her husband Tommy of Wallkill, and Patricia Wolfrum and her companion Joe Peabody of Newburgh; his son, Scott Myszelow and his wife Cindi of Walden; his grandchildren, Thomas and Courtney Martin, Jenna and Melissa Allison, Kyle Wolfrum, Alex Gates, Bailey Peabody, Samantha, Cassidy and David Myszelow; his great-grandchildren, Matthew Martin and Connor Wolfrum; his brothers Robert Wolfrum of New Jersey and Jack Wolfrum of Florida. He was predeceased by his son, David Myszelow, and sister-in-law, Eleanor McDermott.
