June M. Bellarosa, a homemaker and lifetime resident of Maybrook, died Friday, December 9, 2005 in Montgomery. She was 80. The daughter of Wray Osterhout and Maude Miller Osterhout, she was born June 18, 1925 in Montgomery, N.Y. She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. She had worked for 13 years as a clerk for the O & W Railroad in Maybrook. Survivors include her husband, James F. Bellarosa, at home; daughter, Jamine A. Bellarosa of New York City; brother of Connecticut; brother-in-law, John Bellarosa of Walden; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter, Barbara "Ba" Frances; two brothers, John and Wray Osterhout; three brothers-in-law: Michael, Thomas and Frank Bellarosa; and sister-in-law, Mary Bellarosa. Boykin, Lula Mae McCloud On Wednesday, December 7, 2005, our Lord and Saviour called another angel home. Lula Mae (McCloud) Boykin was born in Raeford, N.C. on February 2, 1925 to the late John and Jessie McCloud. On December 29, 1944, she married her childhood sweetheart, the late John Boykin. From their union, their daughter, Pauline was born. Keeping Christ first in her life as one of the active mothers of Holy Trinity Church of Unity, Mother Boykin touched so many hearts and lives. She always placed others before herself. Her favorite saying was "Hon, everything will be all right." She was a lifetime resident of Marlboro, N.Y., where she retired as an inspector from Pavero's Cold Storage, who were longtime and devoted family friends. She leaves to cherish loving memories, her devoted and loving daughter, Pauline Boykin-Bradley of Hamden, Conn.; her son-in-law, Michael Bradley; her loving granddaughter, Hope Boykin-Bradley; a grandson, Channon Powell of Newburgh; two granddaughters, Anika Bradley and Brianna Bradley of Connecticut; one brother, John (Ruth) McCloud Jr. of Rose Hill, N.C.; devoted godchildren: Doreathea (McDoe) Salabie of Highland, Earl McDoe of Newburgh, and Doris (Williams) Stewart of Newburgh; and her loving and devoted niece, Margret Ann Johnson of Linden, N.J. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was 37. The daughter of Edward R. Brown and Helen Sulle, she was born February 13, 1968 in Goshen, N.Y. He was 56. The son of Gerard Coveny and Mabel Reid Coveny, he was born December 2, 1949 in Brooklyn, N.Y. A family statement reads: "Martin was a good man. Remembered with love. What was most important to him was his wife, family and dog, Emma." Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Gail Leinwand Coveny of Washingtonville. DeWinter Sr., a lifelong area resident died Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at O.R.M.C., Horton Campus. He was 80 years old. The son of the late Alfred and Mildred Taft DeWinter, Jim was born March 14, 1925 in Chester, N.Y. A veteran of World War II, he proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he was rewarded with a Good Conduct Medal, and the Purple Heart. Jim met his beautiful bride, Penny, in 1946, and the couple married in 1950. Together, with their children, they moved to Circleville in 1962. Before retiring in 1992, Jim worked as an advertising representative, and in the later years in the composing room for the Times Herald Record. He was also involved in Boy Scouts, a 40 year member of the Circleville Fire Co., serving as Chaplain for many years, and was one of the original founders of the Circleville Drum and Bugle Corps. Jim also served as coach and player agent for the Middletown Little League and as a Deacon for Circleville Church for several years. Jim was also a member of the New York State Chaplains Association. After his retirement, he enjoyed fly fishing, and even tied his own flies. He collected many types of hats, especially ball caps and was an avid and talented gardener. He is survived by his loving wife, Penny at home; his son, Jim Jr. and his wife, Sharon, of Westbrookville; daughter-in-law, Anna Kiskis of New Windsor; his sister, Mildred Nosworthy of Middletown; four grandchildren: James A. DeWinter Sr. and his wife, Heather, of Elizabethtown, N.J., Ryan DeWinter of Westbrookville and his fianc‚e, Andrea, Stephen DeWinter and Katelyn DeWinter, both of New Windsor; one great-grandson, Jimmy; and several nieces and nephews. Gibson Jr., Douglas District Elder Douglas Gibson, Jr. of Middletown, departed this life on December 7, 2005 to be with the Lord. He was the pastor of the Holy Deliverance Apostolic Faith Temple of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, 37 Chamber St., Newburgh, N.Y. He was born on June 4, 1939 in Buffalo, N.Y. to the late Mary Tice Gibson and Douglas Gibson, Sr. Pastor Gibson was a former member of the Greater Upperroom Apostolic Faith Church in Middletown until he was called and sent by the Lord to start his ministry in Beacon, N.Y. He later relocated the church to Newburgh, N.Y. He was a licensed and ordained minister with the New York State and Canada Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, where he held various positions, including Chaplain and member of the Brotherhood Auxiliary. In 2002, he was elevated to the office of District Elder, where he served faithfully until the present. He touched many souls with his ministry. He loved all people from the poorest to the richest, from the smallest to the greatest. He leaves behind to mourn, his wife of 41 years, First Lady, Mary Gibson; four daughters: Cheryl Gibson Lomax and April Burke of Middletown, Diane Taylor and Donna Gibson of Buffalo, N.Y.; one son, Darryl Gibson of Denver, Colo.; one sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and Louise Clanton; mother-in-law, Mary Brown; seven grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Charlann Marie Molloy, 51, of Rhinebeck and a native of Hyde Park, died Friday, December 9, 2005 at home after a valiant two-year battle with cancer. An educator, realtor, and avid thespian, Charlann was a founding member of The Freedom Star Players. She was an instructor at Dutchess Community College, where she taught hundreds of local students GED course curriculum. From 2001 to 2002 she was the Education Director at the Rhinebeck Center for Performing Arts, where she established and taught the first Kids on Stage program. Born on June 8, 1954 in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of Joseph Thomas Molloy Jr. and Charlotte Jane Ray Molloy. She was a 1972 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School. On December 14, 2002, she married Steven Powell at the Rhinebeck Center for Performing Arts. In addition to her husband, Steven Powell, she is survived by her children: Erin and Joanne Mayne of Newburgh, Edward and Susan Kleinke IV of Saugerties, Catherine Olson of Rhinebeck, Specialist James Powell, serving with the U.S. Army in Iraq, and Robert Powell of Rhinebeck; and her grandchildren, Charlann Marie and Shea Marie Buononato, Joyce Maya and Christian J. Hausermann, and Ethan Michael Kleinke. The son of Iver Pedersen and Laura Anderson, he was born May 22, 1919 in New Paltz, N.Y. Marty was a hunter; he maintained and was known for his gardens (beautiful New Paltz gardens); and was probably recently known for his famous Martin Pedersen's Pickles. He married Grace Eleanor "Jerrie" LaMere on July 3, 1942. She predeceased him on October 8, 2001. He is survived by his children: Kathie Ann Canny and husband, Steven, of Pottstown, Pa., Ellen J. Stritmater, Joseph T. Joseph T. Stritmater of Sloatsburg, died suddenly on Friday, December 9, 2005 at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 61 years old. Mr. Stritmater was born January 22, 1944 in Suffern, N.Y. to August w. and Mary A. (Izzo) Stritmater. He graduated from local schools and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 until 1968. Joseph was a retired police officer with 35 years of service in the Clarkstown Police Department. He was a member of the P.B.A., the American Legion Post #1643 in Sloatsburg, the Mahwah V.F.W., a member of the Sloatsburg Fire Department, the Rockland County Bowlers Association, and a member of St. Joan of Arc R.C. Church in Sloatsburg. Mr. Stritmater is survived by his two cherished daughters, Colleen and Kelly Stritmater; his loving parents, August and Mary Stritmater Sr.; and his two dear brothers and their wives, August and Leslie Stritmater Jr., and Robert and Cathy Stritmater. He was the loving uncle to Chris and Heather Stritmater, Hannah, Aidan, Tim, Greg, Matt, Katie, and Brian Stritmater, Kim and John Durkin, Hailey and John Jr.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Joseph's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at 10 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc R.C. Church in Sloatsburg, N.Y. The interment will follow in the family plot at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah. The family will be present to receive friends on Sunday, December 11 from 7-9 p.m. and Monday, December 12 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, N.Y. Published in the Times Herald-Record on 12/11/2005. Torrisi Ph.D., Angelo F. Formerly of Mt. Vernon, N.Y. & Stewart, Fla. Angelo F. Torrisi, PhD. of Cornwall, formerly of Mt. Vernon and Stewart, Fla., died Friday, December 9, 2005 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Cornwall Campus. He was 90 years old. Born May 30, 1915 in New York, N.Y., he was a son of Mario Torrisi and Concetta Scoglio Torrisi. He was a retired Education Administrator PhD. with the Mt. Vernon Public School System in Mt. Vernon in 1970. He was a past Director of Teacher Education with Ladycliff College; the director of the coordination and development organization for the Mt. Vernon Middle School; and an adjunct professor with Fordham University. He proudly served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II as a lieutenant (1941-1945). He is survived by his wife, Theresa Lisella Torrisi, at home; one daughter, Laurie Crotty and her husband, Philip A. Crotty, of Cornwall-On-Hudson; two sons, Dr. Paul F. Torrisi and wife, Mary, of Skaneateles, N.Y. and Robert L. Torrisi and wife, Francine, of Baldwinsville, N.Y.; two brothers, Richard Torrisi of Denver, Colo. and Carl Torrisi of Stewart, Fla.; and seven grandchildren . He was predeceased by a brother, Alfred Torrisi and a sister, Josephine Manganiello. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2005 from 2-5 p.m. at the Quigley Bros. Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson St., Cornwall-On-Hudson, N.Y. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 12 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Cornwall-On-Hudson, with Fr. Bernard P. Heter officiating. Entombment will take place at Cemetery of Gate of Heaven, Hawthorne, N.Y.
