The daughter of the late Elizabeth Finley and Alan L. Zerbe, she was born on May 9, 1913 in Rifle, Colo. She was 92. She was the widow of Paul H. Arnot and predeceased by her two brothers James and Edward. She is survived by her daughter Anne Ruszkiewicz and her husband John of Pine Island; her grandson Paul and his wife Jennifer of Pine Island; her granddaughter Allena of Astoria; her granddaughter Amy of Chicago; her great-grandson John Barry of Pine Island; her step-granddaughters Janet Cortner of Atlanta, Margot Gallo of Port Ewen and Laura Ruszkiewicz of Tampa, Fla.; and her niece Elizabeth Zerbe of Ramona, Calif. A surgical nurse with a Masters in Nursing Education, she traveled to Saudi Arabia in 1944 to start a hospital for oil company employees. There she met her husband and continued to live in Arabia until they retired to northern California in 1968. At age 90 she moved to New York to be closer to her family. She was renowned as a gracious, unfailing friend, a superb cook, and someone who read passionately and widely all her life. She also produced museum quality embroidery. She will be sorely missed but remains a treasured memory and inspiration to her family and many friends. Domfort, 73, formerly of Jeffersonville, N.Y., passed away peacefully at home on December 19, 2005 with her loving family at her side. Paula is the daughter of the late Nathan and Sylvia Bodenstein of Jeffersonville, N.Y. She was born on July 23, 1932 in Liberty, N.Y. Paula was a bookkeeper for the Sarah Wells Girl Scout Council and retired from Barmen's Realty where she also was a bookkeeper. She was one of the original founders for the Ladies Auxiliary of the Middletown Elks Lodge # 1097 as well as treasurer for several years. She also held various positions in and was an active member of the Walden Jewish Community Center. Paula is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, Stanley and their three children Debra Kordiak and her husband Robert of North Carolina, Mark Domfort and his wife Sharon of Maryland, Sheryl Domfort and her companion Rosa Rea of Fishkill, N.Y.; grandchildren Jacqueline Goodman and her husband Philip of California, Kira Kordiak and boyfriend Cary Sahler of Goshen, N.Y., Devon Valdasere of Maryland, James Domfort of Delaware, Stacie and Stephanie Anderson of Maryland; along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. Howerton, Eunice Eunice Howerton, a bookkeeper for Path Mark in Newark, N.J. and seven-month resident of Newburgh, died Saturday, December 17, 2005 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. She was 57. The daughter of the late James Jackson and Sarah Minor, she was born May 17, 1948 in Newark, N.J. Johnston, Mark C. Mark C. Johnston, formerly of Cornwall, died December 9, 2005 in Punta Gorda, Fla. He was 52. Born July 15, 1953 in Newburgh, N.Y., he was the son of Patricia Holly Johnston and the late Donald Johnston. Jones, 84, a resident of Orange County, N.Y. since 1966, formerly of Illinois, died on Monday, December 19, 2005 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh, N.Y., following complications of a massive heart attack. She was employed by the United States Military Academy at West Point as the supervisor in military finance for 20 years until her retirement in 1984. Born in Sesser, Ill. on August 30, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William and MaLinda Cook Wright. On February 2, 1974, she married George J. Jones in Cornwall, N.Y. Mr. Jones survives at home. Langen, Patricia Patricia Langen, a retired post master for the towns of Maybrook and Johnson Post Office, entered into rest on December 19, 2005 at home. She was 59. The daughter of Edward and Stella Kulikowski, she was born February 17, 1946 in New York, N.Y. She was also a clerk in the Washingtonville Post Office and vice president of the N.A.P.U.S. Patricia grew up in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and moved to Washingtonville in 1963. She is survived by her husband, Edward J. Langen, at home, whom she married on May 23, 1970 in Greenpoint, Brooklyn; sons, Edward H. Langen of Washingtonville and Randy C. Langen of Nyack; mother, Stella Kulikowski of Campbell Hall; sisters, Irene Fedrizzi of South Carolina, Christine Kaminski of Mt. Maloney, of Warwick, a maintenance worker having retired from the Rye School System, also having worked with the postal service, died Sunday, December 18, 2005 at St. Anthony Community Hospital in Warwick. He was 94. The son of the late Patrick and Catherine Jones Maloney, he was born on November 21, 1911 in New York, N.Y. A United States Army veteran, Mr. Maloney served as an MP while stationed in Germany during WW II. Survivors include his daughter, Linda Rinehart and husband Martin and his granddaughters Amanda and Virginia all of Warwick; nieces and nephews, Wayne, Donald and Kenny Maloney all of Westchester, Mary Jones of the state of Florida and Betty Stevens and Frank Ferrara both of California. He was predeceased by his sister, Alice Ferrara and his brothers, William and Thomas Maloney. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Morse, a homemaker and lifelong Middletown resident, died Sunday, December 18, 2005 at Park Manor in Middletown. She was 82. The daughter of the late Daniel VanPelt and Fannie Gray VanPelt, she was born October 24, 1923 in Middletown. She was a member and former choir member of The First Congregational Church, Middletown and member of the Woodmen of the World. Survivors include her son, John A. Morse Sr. and companion Lucille Whitby of Middletown; two daughters, Carol Bien and husband Werner of Middletown, Sue Gray and husband James of Middletown; three sisters, Beatrice Seyler of Middletown, Margaret Schoonover of Middletown, Frances Gray and husband Robert of Slate Hill; former husband, Arthur A. Primavera, Sharlene Sharlene Primavera, a former legal secretary for the Rusk Agency, Marlboro and co-owner of The Primavera Hardware Store, Vails Gate, where she worked many hours, died December 18, 2005 at Wingate of Ulster in Highland. She was 70. The daughter of the late Charles Barry (who died in 1996) and Mafalda Mondello Barry (who died in 2005), she was born July 19, 1935 in Newburgh. She was a resident of the area for 70 years, a member of the National ASPCA, supporter of many animal charities and a member of the Marlboro Yacht Club. Survivors include her husband, Joseph A. Primavera of Milton; son, Joseph Primavera and wife, Lisa, of Milton; daughter, Julia Primavera and husband, Patrick McGlynn, of Marlboro; grandchildren, Cailin McGlynn, Nicholas and Anthony Primavera. The world lost a gentle man with a heart of gold Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, when Thomas A. Scott of Pine Bush succumbed to a sudden and unexpected illness at Ellenville Regional Hospital. He was 51. Thomas leaves behind a host of grateful family and friends, including his sons Brendan T. Scott and Nicholas M. Brown, and their respective partners, Carla A. Monaco and Maureen Brown. But Thomas will be missed most by Theresa A. Scott, his wife of 30 years and owner of the Pampered Pet. Thomas was born May 13, 1954, in the Bronx, the youngest child of Alvin F. and Ann Tafe Scott. He was raised in Westwood, N.J., where he graduated high school in 1973. In youth, Thomas traveled the country, fishing when he could. After marrying, Thomas and Theresa moved to Montgomery, settling later in Pine Bush. Over the years, he worked numerous construction jobs throughout the New York metropolitan area. Most recently, he served as a project manager for the Lincolndale-based McNamee Construction Corp., for whom he supervised the construction of parking upgrades at the Metro-North train stations in Otisville, Ramapo and Salisbury Mills. Although he worked long hours, those who knew Thomas well will remember the last year as one of his best. It was a year spent trolling the Hudson, cruising the Caribbean and sharing laughs with loved ones and acquaintances. Thomas is survived by his sister, Susan Scott and husband Alan Schoenbach of Bethlehem, Conn.; his brothers, Joseph A. and wife Priscilla Scott of Bethany Beach, Del.; and Gregory J. and wife Phyllis Scott of Logan, Ohio. Staropoli, Marco V. "Chickie" Marco V. "Chickie" Staropoli, a resident of the area for many years and a retired operator of machines for Lederle Laboratory in Pearl River, died Dec. 16, 2005 at home. He was 86. The son of the late Frank and Rosa DiPeri Staropoli, he was born July 17, 1919 in Manhattan, NYC. He is survived by his wife, Rose Couzzo Staropoli at home; son, Michael Staropoli and his wife, Kathy, of Highland; daughter, Diane Staropoli, at home; brother, Rosario Staropoli and his wife, Kay, of New City, N.Y.; three grandchildren: Michael, Joseph and Vincent Staropoli; granddaughter, Amy Einstein; and wife, Rose Couzzo Staropoli, at home.
