DeLuca of Newburgh, entered into rest on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at Castle Point V.A. Hospital in Wappingers Falls. He was 82. Son of the late Sebastiano and Rose Lizzi DeLuca, he was born March 10, 1923 in Newburgh, N.Y. Joseph was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy; a former member of the Newburgh Y.M.C.A.; member of Gold's Gym; the Past Time Athletic Club and the Black Rock Rod & Gun Club. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. While serving, he received the American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He is survived by his brother, Ret. Col. Dominick DeLuca, Atty. Of Utah; his sisters, Virginia Saltalamachia and her husband, Angelo, of Newburgh, and Mary McCarthy of Newburgh; and several nieces and nephews. Dietz, Alice Marie Alice Marie Dietz, 83, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2005 at her residence with her family at her side. Alice was born on May 6, 1922 in Beacon to Herman and Rose Smith Cavanaugh. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Eddie, on September 6, 1999. Alice was a retired Nurse's Aide for the Cornwall Hospital and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Cornwall for over 60 years. Survivors include two sons, Gary Dietz and his wife, Marjory, of Edina, Minn. and Wayne Dietz and his wife, Elizabeth, of Florida, N.Y. Hubner of Greenwood Lake, a teacher having retired from the Greenwood Lake School District and longtime resident of the area, died suddenly on Monday, December 26, 2005 at home. He was 75. The son of the late Louis and Anne Kurzius Hubner, he was born March 19, 1930 in Weehawkin, N.J. A veteran, Mr. Hubner served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Charles was an active member of the Ringwood Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Joan D. Hubner at home, and their daughter, Kim Boonstra and her husband, Anthony, of Amston, Conn. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Spencer and Justine Boonstra, as well as his nieces and nephew. Kenealy, a 43-year resident of Tomahawk Lake in Blooming Grove, died December 26, 2005 at Orange Regional Medical Center, Arden Hill Campus. He was 69. The son of James A. Kenealy and Marie Free Kenealy, he was born February 12, 1936 in Brooklyn, N.Y. A retired High School English Teacher for Washingtonville schools, he was also a Town of Blooming Grove Justice since 1980. He was the first registered Conservative to be elected to office in New York State. Mr. Kenealy was a graduate of Xavier High School in New York City and St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pa. He received his Masters at Fordham University. He was an avid fan of fishing, boating and water sports with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Mary M. McCafferty Kenealy, at home; four sons: Dr. James F.X. Matthews, a longtime area resident, died Saturday, December 24, 2005 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, Manhattan, N.Y. He was 84 years old. The son of the late Richard A. and Mary McKenna Matthews, he was born August 18, 1921 in Bronx, N.Y. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he proudly served his country in World War II. After returning home, he was a police officer for the New York City Police Department, 41st Precinct. Richard married the former Eileen Marie Busher on April 24, 1948 in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. Together they moved to Greenville in 1953 to start Matthew's Poultry Farm and raise their family. "Dick" was known as the eggman to his many customers on his egg delivery route. A family statement reads, "Dad was a hard-working man who cared deeply about his family. He will be greatly missed." He is survived by four sons: Stephen of Middletown, Andrew and his wife, Tammy, of Montgomery, Michael and his wife, Darcy, of Montgomery, John and his wife, Emily, of Bloomsberg, Pa.; one daughter, Julia Matthews and her husband, William J. McAfee, formerly of New York City, Blooming Grover, N.Y., and Punta Gorda, Fla., died on Sunday, December 25, 2005 succumbing to heart at Shands at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Jim was born in New York City in 1939. Jim was a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marie; sons: William J. and his wife, Helen, of West Palm Beach, Fla. and James A., at home. He dearly loved his grandchildren and was extremely proud of Rebecca and Ryan of West Palm Beach. He is also survived by his much loved brother, Joseph and his wife, Susan of Summerfield, Fla., and sister-in-law, Barbara Turner, wife of his deceased brother, William. Jim was very close to all of his nieces and nephews. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Navy; worked 20 years for Consolidated Edison in New York as a Construction Representative; and was a member of Local 1-2 Executive Board. While a resident of Blooming Grove, Jim enjoyed coaching Pop Warner and was part owner of J & J Pub in Washingtonville. Jim owned McAfee Auto Sales in Punta Gorda, Fla. before retiring to the Gainesville area. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the company of his many friends. He will be dearly missed. The daughter of the late Fred and Mary Litobacky Swanson, she was born April 14, 1907 in New Windsor, N.Y. Elizabeth was the oldest member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Newburgh. She was predeceased in 1966 by her husband, Louis S. McTamaney and in 1980 by her beloved son, Peter J. McTamaney. Elizabeth was the last survivor of her family. Her sister, Rose and her brothers, Frederick and William have predeceased her. Elizabeth is survived by two sons, Louis S. McTamaney and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Los Gatos, Calif. and David A. McTamaney and his wife, Mary, of Newburgh. He was born November 15, 1916 in Messina Frazzano, Italy, the son of the late Giuseppe and the late Lorenza Ricevato Prestimonico. He was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, 46 Ball Street, Port Jervis, and a life member of the Mt. Carmel Society in Port Jervis. He worked as a Blacksmith in Italy before coming to Port Jervis in 1954 at the age of 38. He later worked as a Fabricator for A & W products in Port Jervis. A family statement reads: "Dad loved to sit on his porch in the summertime and everyone would wave to him as they went by. He also loved listening to his Italian and Polka music." Scanzano, Enrico "Harry" Enrico "Harry" Scanzano, of Newburgh, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2005 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh. He was 84. Son of the late Frank and Antonette Scanapieco Scanzano, he was born on August 3, 1921 in Brooklyn, N.Y. He married Madeline Montemarano on June 19, 1949 at St. Lucy's Church, Brooklyn, who survives at home. Harry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. While serving he earned the World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, American Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He retired from the Plumbers Union Local #273. Harry loved his grandchildren dearly. He was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed playing cards with his friends at Washington Lake, talking politics and solving problems. In addition to his loving wife, Madeline, of 56 years, he is survived by his son, Frank and his wife, Diane, of Newburgh; his grandchildren, Nicole, Janine and Anthony, all of Newburgh; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Daniel and Thomas Scanzano, and his sister, Concetta DiLorenzo. Formerly of Port Jervis, N.Y. Jack F. Tedrick, a retired Licensed Professional Engineer and Land Surveyor for the states of New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, retiring in 1984 from the City of New York Department of Environmental Protection after 34 years of service and resident of Allen, Texas, formerly a lifelong resident of Port Jervis, died December 25, 2005 at Victorian Gardens, Skilled Nursing Facility in Allen, Texas. He was 87. The son of the late Michael J. Tedrick and Sarah McCooey Tedrick, he was born May 7, 1918 in Port Jervis, N.Y. He married the late Ann P. Delfino Tedrick on July 9, 1944. She passed away on January 7, 1990. Jack was a graduate of New York State Ranger School in Wanakena, N.Y., Class of 1940. He was a veteran of World War II, Tech. Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force.
