Peter C. Amoroso, of Newburgh, passed away on, Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh. He was 61. Son of Josephine Cardella Amoroso and the late Michael Amoroso, he was born on December 1, 1944 in Newburgh. He married Florence Dayton Amoroso on January 3, 1971 in Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh, who survives at home. A family statement reads, "Peter was a wonderful husband, who never said a bad word about anyone." Peter retired as a Maintenance Engineer from Mount St. Mary's College. He had previously worked in the Garden Center at Lloyds Shopping Center. He also enjoyed his CB radios. In addition to his loving wife, Florence, of 34 years, he is survived by his daughter, Karen Ann Amoroso of Dover Plains; mother, Josephine Amoroso of Newburgh; brother, Gerard and his wife Janice of Newburgh; sister-in-law, Nancy Elliott, of Troy, New York; brother-in-law, Char-les R. Dayton of Newburgh; niece, Susan Valentino; nephews, Tommy Amoroso, Bobby, Tommy and Mark Elliott. Bisl, Helmut Mr. Helmut Bisl of Huguenot died Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, N.Y. He was 62. He was born December 14, 1943 in Pfarrkirchen, Germany the son of the late Franz Xaver and the late Maria Hofbauer Bisl. A family statement read "Helmut Bisl was a loving husband, father and Opa. After immigrating from Germany in 1965, he proudly worked hard as a master carpenter in his adopted country to provide a wonderful life for his family. Pop's favorite times were doing his wood working, providing a comfortable home for his family and friends and playing with his four grandchildren." Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Mary Conrad Bisl, at home; a son, Helmut Bisl, Jr. and his wife, Christine, of Montague, N.J.; a daughter, Heidi Cummings, and her husband, Mike, of Shoreham, N.Y.; three brothers: Heinz, Wilhelm and Max Bisl of Germany; a sister, Anneliese Mauer, of Germany, four grandchildren: Katarina, Anneliese Bisl, Jake and Ryan Cummings; as well as several nieces and nephews in Germany. Foley of Sparrowbush, N.Y. a retired New York City Fireman, died Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at his home. He was 91. He was born May 29, 1914 in New York, N.Y. the son of the late John and the late Mary Smith Foley. A former longtime resident of Rosendale, NY he was a former member of the Rosendale Senior Citizens. As a Fireman, he worked on the Fire Boats in New York City. Gardner of Huguenot, N.Y., a retired supervisor at Otisville Correctional Facility in Otisville, N.Y. and a life-long area resident, died at home on December 27, 2005. He was 81. The son of the late Warren A. and Hilda Brooks Gardner, he was born on October 10, 1924 in Marathon, N.Y. Warren was a member of Calvary Bible Church in Port Jervis. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. He served 22 years on the Town of Deerpark Planning Board, was a life member of Roosa-Fleming V.F.W. Post #161, Port Jervis, a charter member of the Huguenot Fire Department, founded Boy Scout Troop and Cub Scouts Packs in Huguenot, and was a former member of the New York State Grange. Survivors include his wife, Grace Gardner at home, his eight sons: George Gardner of Shreveport, La., Warren Gardner, Jr. of Milford, Conn., Reginald Gardner of Matamoras, Pa., William J. Owney, Arthur Ray Arthur Ray Owney, a Middletown resident since 1988, died December 28, 2005 at home. He was 72 years old. The son of the late Arthur T. and Hazel Shropshire Owney, Arthur was born on November 4, 1933 in Elizabeth City, N.C. On August 20, 1955, Arthur married the former Alice McLaughlin in St. Joan of Ark Church in the Bronx, moved to Middletown from Queens in 1987 and was a mail carrier in New York, NY for 27 years before his retirement in 1992. A family statement reads:"He was unique and we will not see his like again. His children and grandchildren, as well as hunting, were his passions. He was loving as well as loved". Arthur is survived by his wife, Alice, at home; five children, Michael Owney and his wife Maria of Pine Bush, Timothy Owney and his wife Beth of Fair Oaks, Donna Levinson and her husband Ken of Perrineville, NJ, Thomas Owney and his wife Erin of Potsdam NY, Christopher Owney and his wife Evie of Westtown; two sisters, Marie Brickhouse and her husband Floyd and Barbara Jean Bray and her husband James, both of Elizabeth City, NC and sixteen grandchildren. He was the husband of Anita S. Hill. He was a past member of the Cornwall Town Board and worked for Central Hudson for 32 years. She was 81. The daughter of Henry H. and Kate Logan Whigam, she was born on July 30, 1924 in Walden, N.Y. She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Walden for over 60 years. She is the widow of Norman L. Siegman. Survivors include one son, Robert N. Siegman and his wife, Diane, of Middletown; one daughter, Jane S. Fowler and Gary H. Yap, Rodolfo "Rudy" Rodolfo "Rudy" Yap, resident of Washingtonville, NY and a retiree from the Philippines passed away on Christmas Day, 2005 at the Orange Regional Medical Center at Arden Hill Campus. Rudy was 78 years of age. The son of the late Jose Yap and Aquelina Canete, he was born on July 11, 1927 in the Philippines. Rudy dedicated most of his retired life in the service of his Parish Church, Sacred Heart R.C. Church & Chapel of Monroe. A devoted family man, he will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Transfiguracion "Lita" Yap of Washingtonville, and his adoring children Genevieve Santos and her husband Don of Chester, N.Y., and Ericson V.
