Mr. Banner was born in New York City and resided for many years in Long Island, recently relocating to the Albany area. He was a graduate of Fordham University and was employed as a Pharmacist for many years retiring in 1984. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ceil Busgang Banner; two sons: Dr. Howard Banner of Delmar, NY and Martin Banner of Monticello, NY. He was the grandfather of Jason, Bari and Michael Banner. He was predeceased by two brothers, Leo and Sidney Banner. Baxter, Andrew Britton Andrew Britton Baxter, 86, of Ellenville went peacefully home to be with His Lord on Sunday, January 30, 2005. He was born February 1, 1918 in Ellenville. He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Jeannette Baty Baxter and his loving children: Andrew B. Baxter and his wife Linda of Ellenville, Janice B. Mans and her husband, Nickolaus of Newark, DE, David J. Baxter and his wife Pamela of Phoenix, AZ and Peter M. Baxter and his wife Bonnie of Hagerstown, MD. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; his sister, Greta Mitchell of Naponach; his brother, Stanley Baxter of Cragsmoor and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Susan A. Baxter, his parents Andrew and Clara Baxter and his brothers, Irving and Joseph Baxter. Mr. Baxter served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945 and was commissioned a 2LT in the Army Air Corps in 1944. He was a navigator on the B-29 in the Pacific. He worked as a carpenter/contractor for many years in Walker Valley. He was called to serve the Lord at Teen Haven Camp, a Christian camp for inner city youth in Brogue, PA in 1975. He was the director of maintenance at the camp for 17 years before retiring in 1992. He built his retirement home in Seaford, DE at age 74 and finally returned to his birthplace in 1999. A memorial service and celebration of his life and home-going will be held on Saturday, March 12 at 11 a.m at the Ellenville Reformed Church. The Rev. Jay Jogelaar and Rev. She was 91. The daughter of Walter Mucklow and Edith Holmes Mucklow, she was born September 6, 1913 in Jacksonville, FL. She was married to the late Robert Elting Burnett. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Goshen, NY, a former member of the League of Women Voters, Schenectady, NY, where she served as President; former Board member of Planned Parenthood, Schenectady, NY; member of the Junior League, Schenectady, NY; member of the Board of the Senior Citizens Center, Schenectady, NY. He was born on June 24, 1923 in New York, NY and moved to Venice in 2004 from Chester, NY. He worked for the Department of Treasury as a U.S. Customs Agent at the World Trade Center until his retirement in 1979. He attended Epiphany Cathedral and was a member of the American Legion Post 1573 in Harriman, NY and the Knights of Columbus in Monroe, NY. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in the South Pacific during WWII and served with the 75th Air Service Group. Medals received during his military career include the American Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific service medal, WWII Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He is survived by his son, Anthony J. Chietero of Chester, NY; daughter, Annmarie Quirke of Venice, FL; brother, Pat Chietera of Plainview, NY; sister, Anne Sclafani of Bradenton, FL and four grandchildren. Davidson, Wilfred Romaine "Bill" Wilfred (Bill) Romaine Davidson, of Newburgh, entered the Kingdom of our Lord on Monday, January 31, 2005 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was 91. Son of the late William and Clara Burton Davidson, he was born February 15, 1913 in Cornwall. Bill retired from the Nabisco Corporation in Beacon, N.Y. after 45 years of service as a printing pressman. He was a member of the Newburgh Bowling Association Hall of Fame. A family statement reads, "Winnie lived a productive and happy life. He will be greatly missed." Bill is survived by his daughter, Dorothy Davidson at home; his son Jack Davidson and his wife Angela of New Windsor; his granddaughters, Jessica Davidson and Stacy Davidson Vanderee of New Windsor; his great-grandsons, Brian, Matthew and Tyler Vanderee of New Windsor. "Butch" Formerly of Woodridge, N.Y. Irving "Butch" L. Dunn, Lake Ariel, Pa., formerly of Woodridge, N.Y. died Sunday in the Mt. Rest Nursing Home, Scranton. Born in Monticello, N.Y. son of Emma Yaple Dunn of Lake Ariel and the late Irving Dunn. He was a graduate of Fallsburg Central High School, Fallsburg, N.Y. Prior to retirement he was employed as a bus driver for the Short Line Bus Company. He was a United States Marine Corp Veteran. He loved baseball, stock car racing, and all sports. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. She was 94. The daughter of Raymond and Marion Bridges, she was born August 27, 1910 in Worchester, Mass. She was married to the late Harry Guaraglia; he died May 15, 1974. Hilda ran the family farm and took care of foster children for many years while running the farm. She was a past member of Tuthilltown Community Club, Gardiner; and past member of St. Charles Church in Gardiner. Jansen, Robert M. Robert M. Jansen, of Valley Cottage, passed away on Jan. 31, 2005 at New York Presbyterian Hospital. He was 64. Robert was born in the Bronx to Bert and Mary Komonek Jansen. He had been a Valley Cottage resident for the past 32 years, and formerly resided in the Bronx. Mr. Jansen was a member of the New York City Police Department for 20 years and retired in 1982 from the 52 PCT. After his retirement, Robert was employed by the New York Zoological Society at the New York Aquarium in Brooklyn as a security manager from 1982-2001. Robert was a WW II enthusiast and avid outdoorsman. Robert married his wife of over 30 years, Jean Lemm, on Sept. 8, 1973 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in New City, N.Y. Robert will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and uncle and will be deeply missed by all who loved him. Robert is survived by his loving wife Jean of Valley Cottage; one daughter, Christine Jansen of Greenwich, Conn.; one sister, Victoria Cassesi of Monroe; 14 nieces and nephews. The son of the late Leslie and Elizabeth Brennan Merritt, Wilbur was born January 6, 1924 in Yonkers, N.Y. A Veteran of World War II, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. On September 28, 1957, Wilbur married Mary Irene Haruk, and together they spent 48 wonderful years together. Wilbur was a self-employed Real Estate Broker for the past 50 years, running his business from an office in his home. He worked for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Manhattan for 35 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine McQuade Pizzo and sons, Thomas and Joseph Pizzo. Daughter of the late Giacomo and Louisa Occhuzzi Bufana, Gilda was born February 28, 1925 in Calabria, Italy. She came to America in April of 1955 and raised the family that she loved so much. Her life was devoted to the importance of family as well as providing a good home-cooked meal for all. She will be fondly remembered and missed by all that had a chance to know her. Survivors include her sons, Louie Presta of Valley Cottage, Frank Presta of West Haverstraw, Tony Presta of West Haverstraw, and Sal Presta of the Bronx; her daughters, Maria Massi of New Windsor, Theresa Presta of New Windsor and Louisa Tucciariello of Wappingers Falls; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. John had been a resident of Stony Point for 28 years, prior Yonkers, N.Y. John had been married to his wife Lorraine for 43 years. His family was his life and he was the patriarch of the family. Syperda, of Greenwood Lake, a 40-year resident of the area, formerly of Wantagh, N.J., died Monday, January 24, 2005 at home. She was 68. The daughter of George and Elsie Kent Groover, she was born January 25, 1936 in Wantagh Township, Sussex, N.J. She was the widow of Gerlof Syperda, who predeceased her in 1983. Survivors include her daughter, Suzanne Baker and her husband Joseph; her grandchildren, Joseph, Christopher and Jacob; her brother and sisters, Kenneth Kent, Marion South and Dorothy Yarashes; as well as many nieces and nephews. Van Aken, Jennie Doyle Jennie Doyle Van Aken, a 50-year Hyde Park resident, formerly of Poughkeepsie and Kerhonkson, died Sunday, January 30, 2005 at The Thompson House in Rhinebeck. She was 91. The daughter of the late James R. Doyle and Anna I. (Schultz) Doyle, she was born October 30, 1913 in Kerhonkson. In 1933, she graduated from Kerhonkson High School and in 1936 she graduated as a Registered Nurse from Somerset Hospital School of Nursing, Somerville, N.J. She was a member of the Somerset Hospital Alumni Assoc. and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hyde Park Reformed Dutch Church. She was a lifetime member of the Federated Church of Kerhonkson. She married Cleveland Van Aken on June 18, 1940 in New York City. He died August 21, 1975. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Mead and her husband Arthur of Cairo, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Dale Mead of Raleigh, N.C., Cynthia Mead of Rhinebeck and William Mead of Schultzville; five great-grandchildren; twin sister, Margaret Gilbreath of Albany; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Mary Lee and a brother Richard Doyle.
