He was 79. The son of the late Pio S. Bearzi and Carmela Pais Bearzi, he was born October 24, 1926 in Allison, Pa. A member of Sacred Heart Church in Highland Falls, N.Y., he was a life member of V.F.W. Post #9256 in Highland Falls, member of the Blooming Grove Rod and Gun Club, member of the National Rifle Association, and a former member of the Highland Falls and Fort Montgomery Fire Departments. Joseph was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Benson in the Mediterranean and Pacific Theaters. Survivors include his wife, Maria F. Werfer Bearzi, at home; one daughter, Jo Marie Ziegler and her husband, Amos, III, of Lansing, Mich.; one sister, Rena Zaracostas, of Cornwall-On-Hudson; and one granddaughter, Zoe Xinlin Ziegler, of Lansing, Mich. The daughter of the late Lloyd DeGroff and Minerva Weeks, she was born on January 2, 1928, in Newburgh, N.Y. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary - Knights of Columbus in Washingtonville, and the Blooming Grove Seniors. Delesio, of Milford, Pa., a self-employed truck driver, died Saturday February 5, 2005 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, N.Y. He was 88. The son of Peter J. Delesio and Rose Catani Delesio, he was born December 25, 1916 in Norwood, N.J. He was married to the late Rita Van Den Burg Delesio. Mr. Delesio was an avid NASCAR fan and early NASCAR driver in 1957 through the 60's. He drove for the Kochman Hell Drivers. Survivors include one son, John P. Delesio of Vernon, N.J.; one daughter, Rose Marie Delesio of Naples, Fla.; six grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Hansen, a retired employee for Amthor's Welding in Walden, N.Y., and lifelong resident of the area, died Friday February 4, 2005, at home. He was 75. The son of Hans Peter and Nettie Mae Carney Hansen, he was born October 13, 1929 in Dyberry, Pa. He was an Army veteran. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing and playing cards. Raymond is survived by his wife, Dorothy Kruseck Hansen, at home; one son, Raymond Edward Hansen and his wife, LouAnn, of Mooresville, N.C.; two daughters, Gail Ambrosetti and her husband, Joe, of Newburgh and JoAnn P. Holbrook, Vita Guerra Vita Guerra Holbrook, of Sheehan Court, formerly of Wall Street, Kingston, died at the home of her daughter in Bloomingburg, NY on Friday, February 4, 2005. She was 93. Born in Avaleno, Italy, August 20, 1911, she is the daughter of the late Joseph and Elvira Carolli DeSimone. She immigrated to the Unites States in 1913 at the age of two. She was employed as an executive secretary at the accounting firm Ronder and Ronder until retirement. Mrs. Holbrook was a member of Saint Joseph's Church, Kingston; the former Saint Joseph's seniors, the Singing Seniors, R.S.V.P., Colonial Gardens Seniors. As well as a member of the Showboat Theatre Group, a volunteer at the George Washington School reading program, and at Golden Hill Health Care Center. She is the wife of the late Charles Guerra and Richard Holbrook. A son, Ferdinand "Fred" Guerra, a brother, Frank deSimone and two sisters: Matilda DeSimone and Constance Mele also died previously. Karinchak, beloved son of Barbara Karinchak and the late James Karinchak, died unexpectedly on Thursday February 3, 2005, in San Diego, Calif. He was born May 28, 1968, in Newburgh, N.Y. Survivors include his mother, Barbara (Futika) Karinchak; two brothers, Steve Karinchak and his wife, Suzan, and James Karinchak and his wife, Tina; one sister, Cheryl and her husband, Doug Owen; his fianc‚, Erica Hernandez; two nieces, Nicole and Mya; five nephews: Brendyn, James, Douglas, Eric and Tyler; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Bobby graduated from Wallkill High School. He received a Bachelor's Degree from Alfred State University. He then continued his education and received his Master's Degree at Binghamton University. He was 70. Son of the late Harold and Margaret (Rehrey) Mackey, he was born October 25, 1934 in Newburgh. Bill was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy. He retired from Sears in 1996 after 30 years; and was a member of Lockwood's Horseshoe League. Bill was a gentle man with a quick smile and beautiful blue eyes. He enjoyed doing projects around the house, horseshoes, and fishing trips to Canada with his dear friends. He will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Quick of Kerhonkson, died Saturday February 5, 2005. He was 71. Virgil was born June 11, 1933 in Ellenville, N.Y., the son of the late Grover and Agnes (Wells) Quick Sr. Mr. Quick was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, where he had attained the rank of Sergeant. He was a life member of the Scoresby Fire Department and a member of the Ellenville Fire Police. Virgil worked as a crossing guard for the Ellenville School District before his retirement. Mr. Quick is survived by his sons Frederick and Daniel, both of Ellenville; his sister, Genevieve "Jenny" Miller, of Kerhonkson; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jacqueline (Jackie) Frances McDermott Sutherland, died peacefully, with her family at her side, February 4, 2005, after a courageous six year battle with cancer. The daughter of the late John Joseph McDermott and the late Christina Smith McDermott, Jackie was born and raised in Newburgh, N.Y. on December 19, 1933. In 1955, she graduated from Keuka College in Keuka Park, N.Y., where she met her future husband, Kenneth Sutherland. They married in 1957 in Buffalo, N.Y. In 1972, the family moved to Walnut Creek, Calif., where Jackie lived out her life. Jackie's primary focus was always her family and she believed that being a wife and mother were her most important roles. She was devoted to her children and supported and encouraged them during their various activities, taking great pleasure in celebrating all six of their college graduations. She treasured being a grandmother and enthusiastically embraced her grandchildren with the same love and devotion. In June of 2004, Jackie and Ken fulfilled a lifelong dream by traveling to her mother's birthplace, Aberdeen, Scotland. She is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth Sutherland, Sr., and loving children: Carey Schiller and her husband, Fletcher, Kendall Abramson and her husband, Mark, Gail Markham and her husband, William, Jill Gebhardt and her husband, Philip, Kenneth, Jr. "Chip" and his wife, Suzi Walsh, and John Sutherland; her beloved grandchildren: Jack and Kelly Markham, Madeline Abramson, and Kara, Blake and Colin Gebhardt. Jackie is also survived by her three brothers: John J. McDermott III and his wife, Betty Jane, David McDermott and his wife, Carole, and Blake McDermott and his wife, Virginia; three sisters: Christina Jill Martino, Margo Booher and her husband, Bill, and Ellen Wheeler and her husband, Gary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends, all of whom she loved dearly. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Alan Vanook of the University of California, San Francisco Medical Center (UCSF), Tom Weber, NP (UCSF), and Susan Sauer, RN, and her staff at the UCSF Infusion Center, for the devoted care that Jackie received over the years. Also, thank you to Hospice of Contra Costa County for its unselfish comfort and support during the last weeks of her life. A celebration of Jackie's life will be held at San Ramon Valley United Methodist Church, 902 Danville Blvd., Alamo, Calif., on February 11, 2005 at 2:00 PM. Additionally, a memorial service will be held on February 18, 2005 at 1:00 PM in Calvary Presbyterian Church, 120 South St., Newburgh, N.Y., with interment in Cedar Hill Mausoleum, Middlehope, N.Y.
